One night wonder
We traveled to Mykonos from Athens following a convention and had planned on staying 4 romantic nights ... but only ended staying one. The facility was very quaint and romantic, but that's where the enchanted fantasy ended. Unbeknownst to us ... Mykonos is very windy ... all the time, so we could hardly even walk around the facility, let alone eat outside or lie out at the 1 small pool in the sun. The restaurant’s menu was VERY limited ... and the staff seemed unwilling ... to the point of being rude ... to make... more
Management response from Georgekampis

As far as I know, someone with diet issues before doing his reservation checks if the hotel can fulfil his requests. In some cases guests even ask for copies of the menus to be send to them. The guest didn't mention that he was on diet when he reserved. During a very busy dinner, he kept the responsible restaurant person more than 10 minutes at his table and she did several suggestions to him. The restaurant was full and other people were also waiting to be served. She suggested him the “a la carte dinner” menu which includes 5 appetizers, 5 salads, 6 main dishes, 5 desserts and he didn’t like anything. Then she suggested him the lunch menu, although was dinner time and again the guest didn't like anything. She suggested Fish, Veal, Pork, or Chicken and again he didn't like anything. She asked the guest what exactly he was looking for to have for dinner and he didn't say anything. Then the guest asked to see the “room service menu” and to be served in his room. She explained to him that the room service menu has exactly the same items with the dinner menu. I think that she did whatever was possible to satisfy his demands, although she was extremely busy. Sorry because we can’t do anything about the wind.

Bad Service
We stayed 3 nights at San Marco. This is the first time we have stayed in Mykonos and so cannot compare this hotel to other 5* accommodation on the Island. We were a bit disappointed because of the poor and unfriendly service provided by the hotel. The breakfast was a big disappointment. We could not get freshly brewed coffee and were offered instant coffee instead. The food was limited so by 10am some of the food had run out. Another irritation was the system for getting beach towels. We were given two towel vouchers which we had to... more
Beautiful Hotel, but shocking staff
We stayed at the San Marco Hotel for 4 nights for a business conference with 130 others. The booking had been made months in advance so there was no reason why they should not have been prepared for the amount of people staying. After settling into our room, we went down to the hotel bar to get a drink, along with about six other people. The woman behind the bar (the only one behind the bar) could see that we were waiting to be served, but continued to do what ever she was doing for about ten minutes before we were served. The service... more
Tranquility in Paradise!
My husband and I stayed here for 3 days during our honeymoon. I was a little nervous from reading some of the reviews beforehand, but as soon as we arrived my doubts were put to rest! The San Marco is a beautiful hotel, built right into the hillside affording ocean views for pretty much every room. We had a spacious room with high ceilings, private patio, and clean bathroom (and good water pressure!) The shuttle service was VERY RELIABLE, as long as you pay attention to their pick up/ drop off schedule, and the driver was always friendly.... more
Very Pleasant Experience
We arrived from Athens after having to stay over night in London due to a strike in Greece. To say the very least, we were tired and just ready to relax. We took a boat to Mykonos from Athens...it was a long smokey ride (everyone everywhere seemed to smoke). When we arrived at the port to our dismay we were not greeted by the San Marco Hotel as we were promised. Later we found out that the previous hotel in Athens actually had not made the arrangements. To our pleasant surprise, after calling the San Marco they quickly arrived to... more
San Marco - Houlakia - Great Hotel
Booked at the recommendation of Homeric Tours. Not first time on Mykonos but first time guest at the San Marco Hotel. Not far from town and perfect for a quiet and relaxing stay. Room was beautifully appointed, very large bath and fantastic views. Hotel staff very polite, friendly and accommodating. Food at their restaurant is absolutely fabulous - the wait staff knowledgeable and nice verandah. The salt water pool overlooking the sea was perfect. Great breakfast selection and you can eat outside by the pool if you want. If you want... more
Great hotel - would stay there again
We had the pleasure of staying at the San Marco Hotel for 4-nights in late August when the island was crazy crowded and oh so fun. I was a little cautious about booking this hotel as it was a gift for my girlfriend's birthday and we are used to staying at 5-star properties such as Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, 4 Seasons, etc... and I had never heard of the San Marco. I relied on the opinions on Trip Advisor, which I found to be informative and comforting. I could not have been happier with my choice!!! Thank you SO MUCH to all... more
Disappointed:
We traveled using Homeric Tours in July for a week stay at the San Marco. Our experience with Homeric was not positive. Before the trip, I made numerous calls for information we needed. There was no one at the Athens airport to meet the group when we arrived, and then we had an 8 hour wait to take the 3 and a half hour boat ride to Mykonos. Our hotel room had a view of a driveway by the tennis court. When I asked about my voucher saying we would have an ocean view I was told by the front desk it was a mistake. The room was small and... more
I would not recommend this place...
The hotel is far from town and shuttles do not run often. Taxi's are almost impossible to call, especially being that the hotel is so far from town. If you stay here you must rent a car or a moped to get back and forth so add that to your cost of stay. The shuttles only run a few times per day so you better figure out a way to get back home after a night out. As for the hotel itself, I would not consider it to be new. There was rust stains in the bathtub and the rooms were small. The conceirge was not very helpful, instead they seem to... more
I loved the San Marco
What an unbelievable hotel! I just returned from a 6-night stay at the San Marco Hotel in Mykonos and had the most amazing time. The hotel is not far from town - in a beautiful and quiet area with the most fantastic views of the sea. Our room was spacious and newly renovated (as were all rooms at the hotel, I was told). We had a private balcony with a table and chairs where we spent a lot of time taking in the scenery. The bathroom was marble with a full bath and shower. The hotel staff was very friendly and always went out of their... more
