Hotel Mykonos Beach

When we arrived ay Mykonos Beach one of the staff was waiting to greet us, and was very helpful and friendly. She gave us lots of info about the town and how to get around. The decor and style of the hotel was totally what I envision when I think of the Greek islands. I was so impressed with our little "bungalow" - being that it is a less expensive hotel. I'm assuming this is the Mykonos Beach Bay Hotel. There is another hotel with a similar name just further up the street. I believe they share the pool and beach. Anyway, the staff was outside waiting to greet us. The two young women were wonderful and definitely the nicest of our two week stay in five different hotels. I concur with the previous poster, with two exceptions: beach towels were always available at the front desk, and the walk uphill into town was a breeze, even for the seniors I observed walking or even running it. On the other hand, the driveway back up to the hotel after a few drinks... If you want quiet but close to town, Megali Ammos is a good balance. I'm assuming this Hotel is for Mykonos Beach Hotel b/c this is the only one that came up. My boyfriend and I, 29 & 27 respectively just came back from our trip to the Greek Isles b/w Aug 27-Sept 11. The room (#44) STANK! Although the view is beautiful (overlooks the bay), the room we were given had a musty odor from the minute we walked in. It also had 3, uncomfortble. G.I. issue, small twin beds, even though we requested a double. In addition, though only 10 minutes from the town center, the treacherous walk puts one's life at risk on a daily basis. I would never recommend walking back to this hotel after a night of partying in Mykonos. You'd have better luck crossing Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles drunk. Also, if you have... more

We stayed two nights at a bungalow at the Myknos Beach in June of '04 and could not have been happier. Close to Chora ( a few minutes walk) but not on top of it, with views to the sea. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and opened out onto a private patio. The breakfast buffet was delicious, the staff friendly and helpful. At the end of our stay we had to catch a midnight ferry to Samos. They let us check out at 11:00 AM and then leave our luggage with them all day, picking it up late in evening to make the ship. Perfect for our purposes, which were to get to Delos and to enjoy some down time 10 days into a 17 day trip. My grown son and I stayed two nights in a clean quiet bungalow that offered comfortable twin beds, space, privacy, and a view to the sea. The included breakfast was lavish and good. The workers were knowledgable and warm. The manager allowed us to leave our luggage for a day as we waited for a midnight ferry to Samos. It's a five minute walk to Chora and there's a scooter rental en route for the (in June) uncrowded beaches.... more
