Ritz Hotel

I'm a big hotel amateur and when I go to Paris I try each time another hotel, in search of perfection. I loved the Ritz for the hotel service. The receptionist was very elegant as expected in such a classy hotel. He nicely upgraded us from our deluxe bedroom to a suite overlooking the Place Vendome. I loved my stay at the Ritz.. I was disappointed that they don't allow picture taking inside the lobby, bar and shopping areas. I wanted to email the pictures to my family and friends. My room was spectacular.But the view was not very good. The lobby areas were decorated very festively. Service was great, however, the waiter in the bar was a little on the snooty side. Since the age of 13 (and that's about 23 years ago) I stayed, dined and had afternoon tea at the Ritz so many times that I would not be able to count the occasions. But than again I don't live that far - near Brussels, Belgium. Of course, once in a while something goes wrong, but remember perfection does not exist. First time at the Ritz, wow what a place, great rooms and very friendly staff. The best bar in town (Hemingways) where Colin the headbar for the last 14 years mixes the best cocktails we have had in a long time. Great range of malts and vodka and great company. Place de concorde is right outside with all its fantastic shops. Very expensive but worth it

Wow. From the moment our car pulled up to the time we left, the whole time was wonderful. The staff are thoughtful and polite. Dinner at L'Espadon was outstanding. Lunch at Bar Hemingway also good - a definite option for those on a tighter budget. We will return.

The whole experience was truly oustanding. The staff were amazing, so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. It was all so perfect. We will certainly be returning.

We stayed in a Deluxe room at the Ritz Paris in May 2006. It was an incredible experience - the room was beautiful, the bathroom itself was enormous, and the service impeccable. It was the utmost in exclusivity, and being the month after the "DaVinci Code" movie came out, non-guests were not allowed into the hotel. Paris' history and architecture is breathtaking, and the Ritz Paris exemplified that. Loved the complimentary cookies brought to us in the afternoon.....

I have literally just returned from my stay at The Ritz, Paris. Although I've been to Paris many times I wanted to be a little extravagant, and who doesn't want to say they've stayed at The Ritz just once? I took the time to choose a good room via the hotels own website -let's just say it was in their middle range at around 1000 Euros a night. This is an outrage and people should know about it. We are residents of California and recently visited Paris France. We wanted to have a drink in the Bar Hemingway which does not need reservations. The dress code was semi formal. We were dressed in semi formal clothing. We were discriminated against and not allowed entry into the Ritz Paris. Were this not the Ritz, I would be giving it a higher rating. The bath was smashing - almost bigger than the room - but for a deluxe room it was not that large, and merely comfortable, not dazzling. Service was excellent. The front desk staff, especially so. It's tacky to take souvenirs of the room (also criminal) but it's just as tacky to open a gift shop to hawk the hotelware. Cesar would not be pleased.
