Pavillon de Paris Hotel

This is an impressive contemporary and intimate hotel The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and polite. The continental, buffet-style breakfast was very good and you could help yourself to as much as you wanted. The room was modern and stylish and the whole place most relaxing. Recommended.

I checked TripAdvisor before booking a room and saw nothing but positive reviews; in comparison, our experience was disappointing. In fact, after staying only one night, we cancelled the remainder of our 8-day stay (to the Hotel's credit, they didn't charge us any cancellation fee). Here's what we didn't like about the Pavillon de Paris: 1. Location. Happily, this was my fifth trip to Paris. I have stayed in some pretty awful hotels, but this was a pleasure. My wife and I love the Marais and the Place de Vosges, so from our perspective the locatin of this hotel was perfect. It is however at least a 20-30 minute walk to some of the sights in Paris such as the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay and the Eiffel Tower. There is no better city to walk than Paris, but if walking isn't your scene or if the weather is lousy you can still catch a Metro from the nearby St Paul or Chemin Vert metro stations.<br... more

I was on a business trip to Paris staying at the Sofitel at a cost way beyond my budget. All the hotels seemed booked for the weekend but found this one with vacancies and a price about 30% off of their regular charge. It was a great deal for Paris. The hotel is stylish. The staff friendly. The room was good sized and stylish as well. It looks just like the photos you see on the internet. The furniture and carpet were slightly more worn than I expected. Keep in mind this was two years ago. My spouse and I stayed there and have been wanting to go back since. The room was very comfortable and albeit on the smallish side offered all the amenities that we would need and very clean. The location is very convenient to the Metro and to Montmartre. You can walk to a lot of places including the Printemps and Galerie Lafyette on Bd. Haussman. There are restaurants and shops nearby in a really un-touristy neighborhood. The Hotel has a good location (in the 9th arrondisement) and is very quiet as it is on a side street. My boyfriend and I slept wonderfully in the comfortably sized, squeaky clean room. The size of the bathroom was spacious and there special little touches that are an added surprise (the chocolate on the bed every day, the bathrobes and slippers). The Hotel staff was wonderfully accomodating and extremely helpful. I would definitely stay at this Hotel again in the future.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was very impressed with the hotel & service. It is in a very quiet setting but you are approx only 10 minute walk to get to busier areas. Our room was very well decorated and had white robes, slippers & chocolates for that extra touch. Bedroom was Air Conditioned which was a real necessity as it was so hot!!! We spent four nights here in July 2005 and were surprised to find it wedged between a police station (no sirens were heard though) and a washing machine storefront. Odd. The staff was overall pretty helpful and spoke good English (much better than my French, at least). The lobby bar service was "iffy" -- a couple of the bartenders were great (especially the one from Sri Lanka, whose name I forget). Great guy -- very nice and chatty. We spent two nights in this hotel in a quiet residential area of Paris. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This is a great location to explore Monmatre (walkable), and the centre of town (near Liege and Place de Clichy metro stations - although the walk to Blanche is much more pleasant). We paid 145 Euro per night, which is a good price for the room - however I wouldn't pay their rack rate of 255 Euro. The room was very well decorated, but wasn't massive.

Ideally situated to explore Paris on foot, and boy did we walk. We were very grateful for the airconditioning as Paris was sizzling at 36 degrees. Requested a quiet bedroom and was not disappointed. Can highly recommend room 56 as at the back of the hotel, away from the lift and very quiet. I gather that some of the rooms can be quite small, however our room was of a perfect size for a 2 night stay, very clean and smart decor.
