" These apartments are horrible; I... "

These apartments are horrible; I would not recommend these to anyone.
We only stayed one night as they were so awful, and during that night we barricaded ourselves in using a chest of drawers against the door. The area isn't safe and is covered in graffiti, shop windows are boarded up - it’s like the east-end of Glasgow. We were warned by many people that the area wasn't safe at night as thieves come from all over to mug tourists.
As for the satelitte TV and a la carte restaurant - there simply wasn't either, and the pool was used by Portuguese locals living in apartments all around ours. Wouldn't go back - EVER!

As it turns out it was fully booked and we were put into what appeared to be a residential block next door. There we were virtual prisoners in the room because of stairs and the fact that getting a taxi was impossibility. Room not great and felt insecure as the shutters on the windows and doors didn’t close properly.
On the positive though got a two bed apartment when we should have had a studio. So there’s one plus.
