Mirachoro Sol Hotel

Was a bit apprehensive going to this hotel after reading some of the reviews on this site, but on the whole we were more than happy and would certainly go back. This small hotel although fairly basic, was nice, clean and the staff were very friendly and ever keen to help. The hotel is in a quiet location, but there is a free courtesy bus put on by the hotel, to got to nearer resorts but a taxi only costs 3 euros to the busier resort of praya da rocha. Yes there are dogs always barking but I'd rather that than a noisy disco at 5am. Because of the quiet location and being a small hotel the pool is quiet and relaxing. My husband and I have been in this hotel 3 times and for a two star hotel it is excellent, the people that work there are so friendly, the food is great the surroundings are ok for us, quit, lots of local bars and restaurants, a gypsi market, a large shopping mall, a free bus to Portimao centre and the beach. There is entertainment almost every night, and if you want more of that you go to Praia the Rocha. It's a very good cheap, friendly hotel, and Alexif you read this you are a great manager and a great friend.

I arrived back from this hotel last week and i miss the overall friendlyness of the hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the portugese are friendly people. The room was clean and spacious and there are pleany of things to do around this cosy hotel

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the above mentioned hotel. Although, as other people have said “you get what you pay for”, both me and my partner find it hard to accept. We have been on cheaper holidays than this in the past which have offered much more for your money. Although the hotel is very clean and the staff helpfull and friendly, it is hard to ignore the less than satisfactory standard of food, the continuous barking of dogs and the occasional stench of sewage/garbage at 6am in the morning. For a 2 star hotel, and after reading the reviews, this really is a very good 2star accomodation, yes dogs do bark, but this can happen anywhere, it is also not near a beach, at least the hotel do put on a curtesy bus which is very prompt, but has a tendency to run early. nice hotel but not a nice location the last bus to town was 5.30 so taxi after that best place to go was a little cafe-bar where most people went

We had a lovely week in this hotel, very helpful staff, rooms clean and plenty of wardrobe space. Meals were above average and well cooked. it is abot 30 minutes walk to praya de Rosha but the hotel has a curtesy bus which is great. I can certainly think of some 3&4 star Hotels a lot worse than this one. But then some people enjoy complaining!!!!

equivalent to cheap b+b in blackpool. food is a free for all, fighting with coach parties of portugese pensioners who look at you like you have no right there,the small pool is in the shade by about 3.30, so no evenings by the pool.the only excursion offered was watching wool made(whoopee).the rep was very unhelpful and reckoned everything was a 10 minute walk, well it took 5 in a taxi,there are no shops in the area and there isnt even a drinks machine in hotel.the tiny indoor pool looked dirty and is ice cold.I have always booked cheap... more

for those of you who find folt with this hotel, all i can say is that you must be very hard to please, this was our first trip to this hotel and would go back tomorrow if we could the whole staff could not be more helpfull. We had two loverly weeks from the 3rd of april till the 17th of april 2004
