Luar Hotel Reviews
" Praia da Rocha is a lovely resort -... "
Submitted By: Ms A Reid
Praia da Rocha is a lovely resort - but I don't think I would like to go in the height of the season when it's full.
Hotel Luar is a fairly impressive building - the reception could grace a 5* hotel. Our room was beautifully clean and kept that way - nice size and balcony too.
The breakfast was fine - continental buffet with cereals, yogurt, good selection of different breads cheeses, cold meat etc. Good coffee!
So early in the season the hotel was quiet, we were often the only customers in the bar in the evening. The pool looked nice and clean but it was still a bit cold to use it in March.
From the hotel it was a two minute walk to be the nearest restaurants and bars offering a good variety of menus, from hamburgers and full English breakfasts to a bit more traditional Portuguese food. There were good value set menus on offer at quite a few restaurants for a little as 6 Euros; all the ones we tried were great, tasty food.
The beach again is only 2 minutes from the Hotel Luar, but down very steep set stairs going down the cliffs.
Praia da Rocha was a good resort to visit in March although I think we were lucky that the weather was a good as it was.

HOTEL LUAR WAS SET IN VERY NICE GARDENS,WITH A VERY GOOD POOL AREA
STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL
ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND MAID CAME EVERY DAY
ROOMS A BIT SMALL IF 3 ARE IN 1 ROOM,BUT FOR A WEEK IT WAS OK
2MINS WALK TO THE BEACH AND MAIN STRIP,NOT MUCH FOR CHILDERN TO DO AT NIGHT (MY ONLY COMPLAINT). OTHER THAN THIS IT WAS A LOVELY RESORT AND I WOULD RECOMEND THIS HOTEL AND RESORT TO ANY ONE.
