If you are just looking for an affordable accommodation in the heart of the city, this place should be OK for you. We (me and my girlfriend) stayed at Suico Atlantico for four days in May 2007. I've got to specify that we don't insist on things like Jacuzzis, room service,... more

Good location, basic cheap hotel
In short this hotel is basically what you pay for....it is a cheap hotel with a central location (although for elderly travellers or families, there is a short, sharp walk up a steep cobbled hill to reach it). For young ones, the barro altio area is further on up the hill behind the hotel....this is where all the small bars come alive at night time. Although, we preferred the Hard Rock Cafe down on the main street (fantastic cocktails). Rooms were fine. The window also has wooden shutters which blocks out all light, great if you need complete darkness to sleep in the mornings. Bathroom was very small but clean. No bath, only a shower in a small half bath. One thing to note though, in the building beside this hotel there is a sex peep show. There are no windows advertising women or anything, however, there is a neon sign at the entrance. It didn't bother us at all, but thought I would point it out in case anyone with children would appreciate knowing this beforehand.
Excellent no-frills hotel
We (me and my girlfriend) stayed at Suico Atlantico for four days in May 2007. First, let me specify that we're not too fussy about things like jacuzzis, room service, mini bars, plentiful breakfast, designer interiors, satelite TV, blah-blah. Anyway, if you are, you wouldn't be interested in this hotel and wouldn't be reading these reviews. But if you are looking for an affordable accomodation in the heart of the city, this place should be OK for you. 1. It was among the cheapest ones in this area, provided that we were looking for a room with an en-suite bathroom. 2. Staff were extremelly helpful and nice. 3. Our room has been cleaned every single day, even the bed has been made up which I don't insist on coz I don't do it myself at home :-) 4. It was pretty spacious and fresh, and although cheaply furnished it wasn't shabby or uncomfortable. 5. Breakfast was the simplest possible but still enough for someone who just wants to have a few morses and sips before starting exploring this exciting city. Oh, and as far as I remember it finished at 9:30. 6. As I already said the location is perfect. So I honestly recommend this hotel to anyone who isn't after some posh accomodation or some airs and graces and who just needs essential comfort and relaxation.
A very central Hotel
I stayed at the Suico Atlantico Hotel and it was a very good hotel, great value for money and specially great location. It was clean all over and breakfast was more than enough, with very friendly and helpful staff. You should take your own toiletries, they only allow you a little bar of soap and it has to last you for a few days and also take a hair drier and a plug conector, there is only one socket in the bedrooms, well I am talking about single rooms, but this is a 2 star hotel, so it's OK. The Metro, coach, tram and train stations are 2 minutes away and the bus to the airport is across the hotel, so it made it so easy for going everywhere. It's a great place and good value for money. I enjoyed my staying and I would stay there again/
great location but...
Great location but dont take room 117 which doesnt have a window Surly guy at reception would not offer an alternative despite the hotel not being full breakfast also very bad you can do better than this even in the location i would not stay here again
Best choice in Lisbon
Most hotels in Lisbon centre were rather pricey but this hotel is right on Restauradores square, round the corner from the Tourist Information office, and I paid just 100euros for a double ensuite room for 3 nights on b&b. Nothing fancy but all the amenities were available. Very clean hotel and the continental breakfast was ample.
well located but cheap hotel
Stayed 4 nights at the Atlantico. It is very well located and close to everything. We had a room on the 3rd floor, there was a bit of noise at night but nothing we couldn't sleep through even with the window open. The staff spoke english and was generally helpful. The room was a good size and very basic and furnishings a bit shabby and worn. The bathroom was a decent size though the shower smelled pretty moldy and no shampoo was provided. Our bathroom light died the last night we were there and was not fixed by the time we left the next morning because we wanted to go to sleep early and 10 pm was the earliest someone could be sent to fix it. Overall it was good value because of the location and we paid only 39 euros each night which included a very simple breakfast of bread, jam and butter. Unfortunately the coffee and juice was quite bad and not very drinkable.
Location Location Location!!
What a find! You simply could not have a better location in Lisbon, very central and near everything! Although the hotel is rather outdated, it is clean staff helpful. Don't expect a 4 or 5 star hotel waiting for you, if you want a bed, clean room, clean bathroom without the luxuries this is the place for you. Nothing beats the location at the this price!!!
A unique relic of old Lisbon
An old-fashioned hotel, full of character, in an excellent location, with a beautiful small lobby and bar. The bedrooms are rather dark, with shuttered windows, small bathrooms, and furniture from a more stylish age.
Great location nice rooms
You cannot be the location of this hotel!!! It is perfect for seeing all of the sights. I have stayed here twice and can say that there are some better rooms than others. I stayed once in a huge room on the fourth floor. The breakfast is basic, only rolls and coffee and cornflakes (which is the norm for these types of hotels in Portugal). However, for the price you cannot complain. The rooms were clean and there is a full bath in all of the rooms I believe which is a bonus. From the hotel you can walk to all of the sights or even take the elevador up to Barrio Alto although the walk only takes 5 mintues!
Inexpensive well located 2* hotel
This is a basic 2* hotel in a fantastic location in downtown Lisbon. We had a room overlooking the remains of an old building around the back of the hotel so it was very quiet. The rooms are a little dark and the bathroom is basic, but the staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet is good. You can walk up to the Bairro Alto from the hotel (or take the Elevador da Gloria which is just outside the hotel!).
