Lutecia Hotel

great location, briiliant view fromn the balcony. we were on the 10th floor and you couldnt beat the view. the ONLY problem was the noise of the early morning trains as our rooms were facing the train station. the breakfast was supurb. hotel is very close to the metro, Roma station, 5 minute walk away. there is refurbishment currently being carried out on the 11th floor but only between 10.30 and 19.30 and it wasnt a problem for us as we were out exploring during these times. the hotel is very clean and tidy. would stay here again if... more

The room was quite modern and clean, the size is OK. The bathroom has a bathtub. There is free internet connection (with cable) inside the room for guest with their own portable computers. We were told that there is a computer with internet that can be used at the business center (2nd fl.) but we didn't use since we had our own laptop. I have just returned from Lisbon and stayed for a week at the Lutecia. It is an average hotel. The rooms can be bigger, especially with the kind of furniture in it, the room gets a bit cramped. They can definetly do with some more staff especially at the reception desk as checking in/out, especially during rush hours get a bit slow and one has to wait for a long time for the clerk to get done with whatever he is doing. When the connection from A Coruna to Lisbon to Philadelphia was impossible to make due to the short amount of time and having to go through security three times before reaching the plane and the flight closing 50 minutes before departure, we wound up in this hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights in June 2007. Pros: # nice clean room. It isn't the biggest i have stayed in, but it isn't the smallest either. It had a TV (with several language channels). It has a safe # bathroom was clean, with plenty of towels # breakfast was included in my deal. When I book this hotel, I don't have too much expectation on this three-star hotel. But finally, i do enjoy the days in the hotel. The lobby is not big but comfort. The staffs are helpful and they can give you some helpful advice. The room is fashion, clean, comfort and with enough space. the hotel was nicely redecorated and modern, the rooms where clean and new looking. Staff was lovely and pleasent the only draw back is the location, it doesnt look like the nicest place in the world but rest assured its safe and extremely easy to get around, the metro is 3 min walk and the metro straight into the city center is 15 mins tops!!! very cheap to travel on the trains (all day pass for metro, bus and trams was roughly 3 euros) At £32 per night this hotel was great!!!

Stayed here for two nights and was impressed. Rooms have been recently refurbished as has the restaurant and lobby bar area and the restyling is a pleasing minimalist style - muted colours and modern art. My room (for one) had a king size bed and was reasonably spacious. Plenty or hangers (including for skirts - a detail often overlooked!!) and storage space. My wife and I and another couple we were traveling with were forced to spend an extra night in Lisbon because of a missed connection. We booked this thru the Turismo office at the airport. The hotel provides roundtrip transportation and a buffet breakfast. It is in a residential/commercial area about 10 min from the airport. The rooms are small but well equipped, clean and modern. This happened today, May 11, 2005. While waiting to check-in to the hotel my purse was stolen at the hotel lobby. Lost US$1,000.00 I will never stay or recommend this hotel due to lack of security and safety. Please be very careful.
