Rooms were so poor as to be laughable for a supposedly 4**** hotel. We refused to stay and asked for our money back and only then were we shown anything that could be called decent (2**). Staff were friendly and efficient. Menus were so limited. Their idea of 'choice' of cereals was 'soggy' cornflakes every morning for the week we stayed there with no alternatives available. Even the asian dishes get boring if same evryday.
Beach is polluted with oil from shipwreck. Seaspray leaves you covered in greasy smelly layer even if you dont venture into the filthy water. Beach is ruined by the massive rusting shipwreck. Stay away until this is removed!
Not a place to take your family!!

We had 2 weeks holiday at this hotel, the staff were very nice and helpful.
The food was ok, better some days. We did upgrade the room when we booked, did hear some rooms were not very good, but our room was first class with maid service second to none.
I will say one thing, about the pool I did not think it was very good, we never used it, on the beach everyday which was a short walk.

I stayed in this resort for four days and those were the worst days of my life.
1. There were ants in the bed.
2. Hotel allows even groups of unfriendly people to stay there who will make life hell for the women in your group.
3. Everything is overpriced.
4. Bathrooms are too small and doesn’t allow proper drainage of water.
5. Hotel staff is unfriendly.
I would not recommend anyone to go and stay there ever. Neither will I make my second trip to that stinky and small place.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Whispering Palms hotel for 2 weeks and it was the best 2 weeks ever!
We could not have asked for friendlier staff, smiles everyday especially from Nak!
Food was basic consisting of mainly curries and few other options but overall ok.
Aahatta restaurant was lovely, friendly service, quickly served food and drinks.
Entertainment was average. Theme nights excellent and food fantastic, much wider choice on theme nights.
Can’t wait to return to the Whispering Palms hotel again soon and enjoy a pleasant stay once again!

I didn't know what to expect as this was my first trip to India and I was travelling alone.
However, I needn't have worried. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant and did everything they could to ensure my comfort - and that of all the guests.
It is a 3* hotel so I didn't expect luxury and didn't get it.
But what I did get was absolutely charming - the food in my opinion was just about what I had anticipated - many different options, a choice of barbecue fish, kebabs, chicken, steak etc most nights - lots of salad, interesting dishes from India, Goa, China, the continent - and not forgetting the breakfasts - lovely porridge - fruit, fresh croissants, some local choices - so it was great for me to try new things.
The waiting staff would constantly and throughout the day/evening ensure drinks including coffee and tea flowed my way - always smiling, I never saw so many smiles, what lovely people in Goa.
It makes me embarrassed about the comparative coldness of staff in British hotels. So this was the main comfort, having management and staff who went out of their way to accommodate my every need as far as possible.
I did get a bug, probably due to eating fresh salad on the beach; the hotel got me a doctor within minutes of my phoning reception.
The onsite Tailor, Mac, does a brilliant job and I had some suits and silk shirts made for my sons, these were exquisite - and I also designed and had some long dresses and trousers made for me - perfect! I can't recommend him and his team highly enough.
The entertainment varied every night - an excellent band on the Saturday night - and on the whole the atmosphere in the hotel was friendly and comfortable. I could even borrow books to read, as I have a voracious appetite for reading.
The standards of cleanliness in my room were excellent - clean towels and linen every day, everything washed and wiped down. Superb.
Taxis are very inexpensive, the driver will stay with you all day if needed and the cost is around £10 - in Cardiff I get charged a fiver to go one mile!! Eating out is cheap and there are many places to eat.
We even found an English place selling Sunday roasts just up the road - run by a British lady; it made a nice change to eat there one day.
The local people were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was invited to the homes of several people I met for lunch and dinner, and I felt privileged to be part of a new culture for a little while.
It was a fabulous holiday, hot, sunny, friendly, wonderful beaches all within easy reach, stunning temples and churches - I know that Goa has my heart now and I have already booked my stay at Whispering Palms again for next January.
I am even tempted to find an apartment so I can spend longer in Goa. But then I wouldn't have the added bonus of the hotel which really was a little corner of paradise!

The hotel room was very basic and not what I would have expected from a 3 star, given that we had booked and paid nearly 200 extra for a superior room.
The water was never more than tepid and often cold showers were the order of the day.
Some days the water ran out whilst showering causing considerate inconvenience.
The hotel has had new blocks added giving a guest count of approx 200 but only 50 sun beds, the second pool and area described in the brochure had not happened.
Therefore if you wanted to sun yourself for the day, it was necessary to get up at 7.30 in the morning to secure a sun bed.
Hotel food, breakfast, lunch and dinner consisted of mainly curry dishes, there was not much other international food available and curry is great - but not every day for 2 weeks!
We had local residents living along the perimiter wall of our hotel and that was our view.
The immediate beach area had a rusting oil tanker which had been there for some 6 years and did not make a pretty site.
We paid 1980 pounds for this holiday for 2 and were very disappointed and did not consider it value for money. The hotel staff except the management were fantastic.

Spacious, clean, accommodation. Wonderful, 'can't do enough for you' staff. Poolside area limited but seating within the beautiful, well maintained gardens. Beach 10mins stroll.
Meals good if somewhat limited in variety but chef happy to cook to your requirements.
We took our 11yr old son & he had never been made more welcome in all our years travelling with him. The Goan people's culture features children highly. He can't wait to return next year.
While all inclusive unnecessary due to the inexpense of eating out in Goa, this hotel & its staff has to be recommended.

Would recommend this hotel to all - great staff, great service, good food, excellent accommodation & facilities & wonderful, friendly locals. Beach not so great but 200yrds on either side & this is rectified! Eating out? Try 'The Mermaid' (reservations required) or 'The Lighthouse' (where the burger is American!).
Visit the spice plantations, Panaji & Old Goa. Catch the sun & the waves at the South coast beaches or blend in with the hippies at Anjuna. Use a local taxi driver to give you all the best tips of places to see.
If you use their services remember to take along an extra bottle of water for them while they wait for your return journey for a few rupees.
I will return.
