Alif Hotel

My wife and I traveled with our two children (5 years and 7 months). This hotel is conveniently located - out of the very touristy areas, yet within a bus or taxi ride of the old town. Taxi from the airport was 10E or so. A cab ride to Rossio is 5E, to Belem is 10E. We booked a suite, which was perfect, as our older daughter slept on a pullout couch (free of charge). We stayed for three days, mid week at the Hotel Alif. We found the Hotel to be very , very clean with our room in excellent condition. Our room was cleaned daily with the maids even cleaning up the mess left by our twelve year old daughter. The breakfast was a bit basic but everything else including the staff were first class. I would recomended this hotel for anyone planning a short stay in Lisbon.

I organized a group trip to Lisbon and was plesantly surprised by the price of the Hotel Alif for what we got. The buffet breakfast was great and even though we could hear the staff int eh kitchen starting the breakfast at 5am this was the only noise we heard. All the people in the group throughly enjoyed the stay at this hotel and as previous reviews it is very well placed for catching the tour bus, local bus and the metro. Would definitely stay here again. Great holiday

Just got back from a four night stay at the Alif - lots of positives to report, and just a few negatives! + The location - at Campo Pequeno, close to the airport, just two stops on the no 91 Aerobus (€3 which then gives you unlimited bus travel for the rest of the same day that you arrive - or was it for 24 hours? I'm not sure, but it's a good deal!) It also cost us €6 for a taxi to the airport when we left, and took ten minutes - better than the bus! Our stay at Hotel Alif was a mixed experience. It was easy to get to from the airport and reasonably priced. We found the cheapest price was on booking.com. We arrived late at night and didn't find the receptionist to be very friendly at all - in fact he hardly spoke to us. The room was small and carpet worn but the breakfast in the morning was great. The staff at the front desk in the morning were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 4 nights.We got a good size clean room plus a stunning view. The location of the hotel was excellent near at Campo Pequeno Metro Station (Bull Ring Area).We arrived early at 9am, just outside the airport we take an aerobus instead of a metro which we find it much cheaper and paid 3 euros (each person) and we use the aerobus ticket for a wholeday for bus/tram . A bit far from city centre about 10-20minutes approximately if you take bus/metro. Breakfast was lovely got a lot of choices. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Hotel Alif was great.! It is well situated (opposite the train station and awesome shopping including a food court and supermarket) A little far from main tourist attractions but easily acessible by train. The room we had was a little small but don't let this put you off as we weren't really in the room long enough to notice. We stayed in the Hotel Alif for 3 nights in June. We had a twin room which was very nice, it had big wardrobes, satellite TV, a safe, air conditioning and quite a large bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very nice. There was a good selection of hot and cold food and cakes, cereal, toast etc. The hotel is 2 minutes walk to the Metro station, which is underneath the Bull Ring in the shopping centre. The hotel is easy to reach from the airport even at nighttime.(The bus Nr 45,44,91 runs directly until midnight!)From the bus station its only a few meters to walk. The room is quite nice, a little small, but therefore the bathroom is quite big and has even a bidet.The only problem were the pillows, the were too hard hard to sleep on. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with a friend in May 2007. The rooms are quite modern, maybe little small but clean and bright. Quite a good selection of tv channels too - BBC World, Sky news, CNN etc. The staff were good, with the bell boys and bar staff especially eager to help. Breakfast was the usual continental rolls and cereal. No evening restaurant here, although there is one next door.
