Vivenda Miranda Hotel

Sonds corney but If you´re looking for your own personal slice of heaven then this is the place for you! It wasn't cheap, but this hotel has a calm & friendly atmosphere with fabulous food, gorgeous rooms and amazing views from the terraces and gardens over the sea. It was an easy walk downhill to Lagos which is a great little place for shopping & sightseeing and a 5 minute taxi ride back. Great place to stay near Lagos. Far enough from the thoroughfare to relax, but close enough to get to restaurants and other activity if you want to. Great Food. Professional, friendly service. Clean, comfortable and up--to-date accommodations. We highly recommend it!

We could only spend one night at Vivenda Miranda because in August it was fully booked! We found the place very comfortable, with a great view, very nice gardens, and surprisingly very quiet. The employees are extremely nice and helpful, although most of them don't speak Portuguese. So, if you are Portuguese, you might be shocked. The room was nice and clean, with a cute balcony facing the sea. A drawback, we had no air conditioning, but to tell the truth, the fan was enough. We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this hotel. While the rooms could use a little updating, they are clean and provide beautiful views. The location/setting of the hotel is superb! The ocean views that we enjoyed every morning during breakfast were amazing. The dinners were delicious and certainly worth the money.

Superb - I cannot thank the staff and management at the Vivenda Miranda enough. We had a wonderful 10 days at the hotel and would recommend it to everyone. The Hotel is superbly situated and only a 3 euro taxi ride (or 20 min walk) to the town and only 5 mins to a superb beach. The food was excellent and I cannot fault any part of our stay at the Hotel. we stayed at the vivenda miranda in february 2005 and had a marvellous holiday. the staff were most helpful at all times but never obtrusive. the ambiance was excellent and we enjoyed the peaceful location very much. our room (a junior suite) was extremely comfortable and well appointed, opening out onto the swimming pool area with our own sun loungers. the food was delicious from the buffet breakfast to the delightfully served dinners. we have already recommended the hotel to friends who are going there shortly and would not hesitate... more

We were in Portugal for our honeymoon during the first half of this month. We stayed at VM during our time in the Algarve. It really is a beautiful place and the room was wonderful. (We had a junior suite.) The food was very nice and the staff was excellent, but this is one thing I think people should know before they go: there is no air conditioning and no ceiling fans. (At least, we saw no vents or controls--we did have colds so we may just have been stupid.) This isn't a huge problem, but our balcony was blocked from cooling breezes... more

Lagos town center was about a 3 minute drive and had a nice variety of restaurants and minor shops, very pedestrain friendly and right on the water. It is not overly touristy.We very much enjoyed our stay here. The views and access to beaches and town are wonderful. The inn sits high on a cliff and is flanked by beaches on either side. The beach to the left is a nude beach, predominantly, and is reachable by hiking down a steep hillside. The beach to the right is reachable by car or path. Very comfortable, with very friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful view. Good if you are looking for atmosphere and a secluded location. Our room was a bit small, but otherwise, highly recommended.
