My wife and I just came back from a wonderful holiday, at the Hotel Marina S. Roque, where we stayed for 2 weeks.
We chose this hotel based on a friends recommendation, who have stayed here 9 times before, over the last 6 years.
Although, we were a bit sceptic at first, after reading same of the reviews of other travellers, this hotel ended up by being the nicest place we have ever stayed in.
We are glad we followed our friends’ judgement.
They have been once and haven’t stopped going back since, with their family and other friends, too.
This is a hotel that seems to suit everybody.
We like travelling and getting to know places, every year we choose a different destination but, this time, we found a place we will enjoy going back to, we will most definitely make a return visit to Lagos and to the Hotel Marina S. Roque.
On our arrival, we were greeted by a very welcoming, efficient and polite reception desk.
Straight away; we felt we had made the right choice.
Our stay was made special, from the minute we checked-in, to the day of our departure.
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the owners, the Tavares Family and their wonderful, always very helpful, friendly and attentive staff.
Our room was lovely, very comfortable and well equipped, with air conditioning, cable TV and a pleasant, sunny balcony, overlooking the garden and the pool area, wonderful to sit and relax during the day and enjoy a cold drink in the evening,
Everything at the hotel had been recently decorated; everywhere we looked was spotless clean and very well kept.
Buffet Breakfast was perfect, very tasty, well presented, a real treat, with fresh products everyday and lots of choice and variety, a mixture of continental and English, to suit all tastes.
The bar was great, with a warm and calm atmosphere; the Cocktails were superb, just what you needed to make the end of your day perfect.
Good facilities complemented this little gem, a spacious lounge area with a reading, games, wireless Internet and TV room, a sunbathing area, garden and a shaded veranda by the pool and a very convenient car park/garage.
This enchanting and charming hotel as a privileged location, too.
Situated, just a brief stroll from the historical city centre (a short and pleasant 10 minute walk, along the river promenade), with its markets, craft centres, shops, restaurants and bars, museum, cultural events, festivals and marvellous views, on the modern Marina/ Yacht harbour area and at about 10 minutes walking distance from “Meia Praia” beach, with its dunes of fine sand and clear transparent water.
The Hotel Marina S. Roque is the ideal option for a fantastic holiday and the perfect base, from which to explore and enjoy all sights the beautiful city of Lagos and the Algarve Coast have to offer.
