We went for 2 weeks leaving on the 12/07/10. On arrival the resort looked lovely and clean and very safe. The problems started when you went for something to eat. The food was uncooked and luke warm. My daughter got pork kebabs which were barely cooked. Then our party of 5... more

Lovely Holiday!
I don't know if this counts because we did go 3years ago, but as I have been reading the reviews for a different holiday.. I think it is really good that you can read other peoples views. We had a lovely holiday and the beach is gorgeous and the scenery is beautiful. We even saw wild dolphins from the beach at tea time a lovely moment shared by my family and I. I must say the only thing we found disappointing is the entertainment hall... there were birds flying all over and it was very slippy.. but the entertainment was very good. We went into Sunnybeach a few times and it is a quick journey and cheap. We found the food good or just as good as any hotel aboard. The pools were clean and our room clean and the maids were lovely (although spoke no English at all) they were very cheerful and pleasant. Overall a really good holiday!!!
If You Like Chicken
first i must say the setting is superb, the beach just a few steps from the apartment and very clean. the rooms were cleaned everday and towels changed almost daily but............ the food was diabolical. every night bar two (out of fourteen) it was chicken, chicken stew chicken schnitzel or chicken nuggets, with out exception it was always cold so you had to reheat in the microwave on the counter, which, bearing in mind it was chicken it was not the safest option. there were three restaurants where you could book, these were ok but you had to book by 10am that day and because everyone wanted to eat there you had to be in the queue by 8am and as breakfast was 8 - 10 you had to choose what you wanted most. the snacks round the pools were ok but each area only catered for about two dozen people. so you had to make sure you were queuing early for those as well. had we gone self catering it would have been a much better holiday...sunny beach is more geared for the young ones with pole dancing bars loud music etc and make sure you only change you money in the bureaus with the crown sign as in the others you will come out with a lot less than you went in with.
Sounds Like Nothing's Changed!!
I don't know if they'll print this being as we went a few years ago, but reading the recent reviews nothing at all at Elenite has changed. My family and I (44,33,6,5) went in July 04 and it was the worst holiday I have ever, ever been on. THe food back then was horrendous, non edible, cold, uncooked. One night we were offered fish swimming in oil complete with heads with smily potato faces!!! The First Choice reps weren't at all bothered about people complaining and they said it was just a glitch..well that can't be true if it's still happening 3 years down the line eh!! Avoid this place like the plague..it's Butlins with barbed wire
Bulgaria not for us.
The worst holiday we have experienced in 20 years. Food much the same and often cold, dinning room always full for the first week of the holiday.Very quiet during 2nd week when the complex was closing down.Staff had a couldn't careless attitude. our room was broken into and lots of property stolen. Hotel management were not bothered We chose this complex because of the location and write up in the Balkan holiday brochure. But villas were close together and not many with sea views as advertised. Only redeeming features were the sun shone for our second week and the sandy beach. I am sorry that I can't recommend this complex. Sunny Beach .........300 high rise hotels !!!!!!!
Very poor experience
We arrived to Elenite Roylal Park very late in the night and the room we've got was suppose to be a sea side room. When we woke up in the morning and were looking for the sea we were very surprised because from our room we could only see the parking lot. In the bathroom there was a huge mold as well as the walls in the whole room were very dirty. Looks like ketchup or coke or so. We mentioned it to the receptionist and were told that there are no other rooms available. When i spoke than to the Manager and mentioned the dirty walls and the mold etc. and asked for another room, I was told that I am rude and that this is what we paid for. Also there were no tableclothes in the Dining room. Overall experience is poor as the Hotel staff was not helpfull at all and cleanlines in general was nothing they do care about.
Staff mostly nice and helpful.
We have just returned after a 14 day holiday. The pool areas and hotel areas were spotless with loads of cleaners about. The restaurants were very busy (peak period) so you had to be very quick to get a table. The Nessabar restaurant didn't have a great selection of food - the Sunshine restaurent al-la-carte was nice but your had to queue early to book - the BBQ restaurant was very bad (we were all sick that evening after eating raw chicken) - the bulgarian restaurant was nice although again had to queue early. There wasn't enough entertainment in the evening only 1 hour - so nights were long. Apartments very hot - luckily we had a top one and could leave open the door all night (although 3 days before coming home they put in airconditioning machines into the village which were were great). On the whole this resort was excellent for young families although I think older kids would be bored. Another downer was we had no warm water in our aparment. We had excellent weather except the last day which was dull with thunder and lightening. Trips from the Pier included Nessebar which we throughly enjoyed (20 levs each return). Bus to Sunny beach was 1.30 levs each one way which was very hot and sticky we got a taxi back for 20 levs rather than face the bus - plenty of shops though. Jeep safari excellent as was Khans Tent.
Bulgarian overload
We spent from the 14th to the 21st of August 2006 at Elenite Holiday Village on an all inclusive package. Arrived late Monday evening / Tuesday morning, had a rather worrying coach transfer from the airport, I am sure the coach driver thought he was driving a sports car. When we checked in and were allocated a room the receptionist seamed a little nervous and said that we could change the room tomorrow if we wished, too right we wished, I think it must have been staff quarters, it was a dreadful pokey little room right up the back of the village which without aircon was roasting. Evidentely we were not the only ones to be fobbed off for the first night. The room which was allocated for the rest of the week was far better, very clean and airconditioned. The food in the main dining area was a bit lack lustre with the area being crowded and hot and if you are a vegitarian such as my daughter the chioce is poor, she managed to get french fries on two occasions and on both occasions they were cold, as a meat eater I had more choice and once I had jockeyed for position in the large ques I managed most times to find somehting eadible. The best place to eat by far was the Barbeque area near the Royal Park Hotel, you have to book your table early in the morning for that evening but the food was good and the service from the middle aged manager/waiter and his daughter was second to none, never an empty glass and he smiled a lot which was an uncomon sight among a lot of the other staff, after crossing his palm we had no need to book for the following night, a table was waiting with a nice reserved sign on it,luxury, no more queing. Another eating area was the traditional Bulgarian restaurant which again you had to que at 8.00am on the day to get a table for the evening, a choice of traditional dishes were on the menu and it was our second choice of places to eat. Getting drinks was again a bit of a que and you are limited to 2 drinks per person so if you want to get the family a drink each you have to take them with you to the bar or que up again, there were few exeptions to this during our stay depending on the bar person. If you enjoy queing then you will love this place. Want to keep fit ? not a problem here as there are so many steps to climb. After a week I have calf muscles like Arnie Schwartziniger something that you need to bear in mind if you have an elderly relative with you or someone with limited mobilty. There is a 24 hour medical centre on site which, looking at the amount of people in bandages and plaster casts is an essential requirement, a freind of mine had his twisted ankle X-rayed on site. The resort beach is really good, it is kept clean and the water was really warm during our stay with the bonus of an early morning race to get your towel on a sunbed ( race down the beach before racing to join the que for the restaraunt booking, once you have done that then you can join the que for breakfast ) There is plenty to do on the water, we hired the Jetski and Canoes many times and had a trip on the Catamaran and various trips on different inflatables being towed by the speedboat, the guys and girls operating the water sports all seemed like nice people especially the older guy working in the surf and sailing hut, he made you feel very welcome. At the end of the week we wanted to extend the room but you are unable to do this until the last day, when we tried we drew a balnk so we were out of the room by 12.00, not a problem as they have a shower room you can use but unfortunately they forgot to inform us that you must book a time to use the shower so after a long hot day no shower was available, luckily we had friends staying for another week who let us use theirs. On your day of checkout you will be given an exit visa, check that it is in your name as we were given the wrong ones. The problem for us was that there were too many people for the staff to handle, the complex was overloaded well past it's capabilities, outside peak holiday times it may well be a lot better but then I will never know as I am not going back at anytime of the year.
dont bother dieting before you go!
We've just come back (14.08.06). The only good thing I can say about the place was that I found the hotel to be very clean and tidy, but very basic with lots of steps, as most people will tell you who've been (keeps you fit). It was very much geared up for german tourists. Very little to do of an evening other than play cards! The food I found to be absolutely dreadfull (uneatable) as did several other families/couples we spoke to, fortunately I was only there for a week and by the 5th day there I did not even bother to go into the buffet restaurant. It was like a cattlemarket - you had to rush in to try to get some food and fined a table to sit at like the speed of light or else you ended up with nowhere to sit. The bookable restaurant you can never get in, as people book it for 15+ people at a time, so by the time you get to the front of the queue the place is fully booked. I lost about 1/2 stone+ whilst there. There is no airconditioning anywhere in this place, so no escaping the heat. Service is slower than a tortoise and their english is very limited to say the least. Make sure you take your own pool towels. Take plenty of mosquito repelent as they eat you alive! Good luck. x
Loved it, beautiful sea views all around
Excellent for families who just want to relax. Children were very looked after. Basic room was very clean. Everywhere was very clean. Food was good. Use of 5 pools and a long stretch of beach. Looking to go back again
Not much to do
Just spent a week at Elenite Holiday Village. Complex was ok but was off the beaten track. Not much to do if you want to stroll around and explore. You have to get a taxi at night and go to Sunny Beach. Basic accomodation, food started off well but got worse as week went on. Night life pretty naff, allright to go if you just want to do nothing and sunbath. I wouldn't go back here but would like Sunny Beach, self catering as everything is very cheap. Those late night/early morning flights can be a killer !!
