We were initially booked to stay at the elenite village, but 3 days prior to our holiday we were told we'd been moved to the Royal Park. After travelling all night we arrived at the royal park to be told they didn't have us on their booking list. The staff were rude and very unhelpful. All they kept saying was wait for 9am. By 9am my partner and I were tired, hungry and miserable. When the rep finally arrived I burst in to tears and that seemed to kick him in to action! He disappeared off for over 2 hours with the manager and at midday he arrived back saying that he'd got us a room at the village (our original booking). During our time waiting at the royal park we found it to be filthy dirty, the staff completely dismissive and the food was awful.
However, once we arrived at the village we couldn't have been happier. The room was lovely. Clean, spacious and with a fridge and aircon (definately needed!). The food was pretty repetetive but ok. The wasps were a nightmare but we both soon got used to them. The bars were busy but the queues soon moved. The ice cream in the poolside bar was delicious.
As for the evening entertainment it definately more suited to families with young children. As a couple in our early 20s we struggled to keep ourselves busy of an evening but sunny beach was only a short taxi ride (20 lev if you haggle) and we enjoyed our nights there.
The lazy day cruise was fantastic (80 lev pp) and we wished we could have done it again. The beach was lovely and clean and not at all overcrowded as were the pools.
Personally we wouldn't go back as a young couple but we had no massive complaints with the resort. We're just happy that we didn't end up at the Royal Park.
Also a massive thanks to Rossen, our First Choice rep, who turned out to be our knight in shining armour!

Me and my family have just came back from 14 nights at Elenite. There were 3 adults and 4 children. We thought that the rooms of the hotel were nice and the beach was lovely. In the broucher is says its a ideal place for families, we disagree there is no baby pool and not much to do for children during the day. If you are a fussy eater this is definatly not the place for you the food in the all inclusive restaurant is repulsive there is no variety. There a four restaurants but it does not state that you have to make reservations for 3 of them. Me and my family ate at the all inclusive restaurant for the first 3 nights but found the food unedible and came down with food poisoning all of my family came down with it including in 19 month old baby. My 6 year old son was that bad he was put on a drip, this was also very expencive. The water park was great for the children but you have to pay for the sun loungers and parasols and the bar is not part of the all inclusive. Even though we went all inclusive it cost us alot of money as there are hidden charges every were and we ate out for the rest of our holiday for our own health reasons. The staff are usless and dont speak much english. Wont be going back there in a hurry!!!

elenite was not what we expected at all, i am not a picky person but i found alsort wrong.
To start with, 6 groups of ppl got dropped of at the same time with us, all luggage and all, only to discover we all had to take turns to get to reception, 5 mins walk away, in golf buggys, 2-3 trips per family group, so after 2 hrs, we were all finally at reception and checked in, then........... the same buggy had to take us all to our rooms,
The rooms are very basic, need modernising to get at basic standard, and althougth the cleaners are in every day cleaning your rooms, you will find that your bedding wont get changed 3-4 times a week like said, it wil just be tidied to give the impression its been cleaned.i think our bedding was hcnaged 2-3 time in the 2 weeks we was there.
The food was good, but once you had the same thing being offered for 2 weeks, it got very boring, specially when what wasnt eaten one day, was made into something different the day after, then there are the birds nests above you tables, and bird crap on the tables..
another thing at meal times is the shortage of tables and constant queuing for cutlery, food, plates etc
The beach was stunning, white sands, plenty of sun loungers and parasols 10/10
The free bars...... only serve the basic cheap stuff, foreign beer, rum, vodka, bacardi, whiskey,
dont be fooled, you expect to go into the resort and not have to spend, but infact there are only limited bars which are free, and if you dnt mind queuing 15 mins to get what you want, then it is good
i know i have rambled on, but you need to know, we went thinking we wouldnt need to
spend much, but as i said, most thing, including evening entertainment is charged extra, not all inc.
ps, take good wasp repellant when you go
other than that, weather was great

Like most people wasn't sure what to expect of Bulgaria. The whole coast is being over developed - with new hotels going up on every spare inch of land. The resort itself was bigger than the photos in the brochure made it out to be and still being developed - this did include a great new water park attached to the resort which had just opened. The accomodation was basic - make sure you ask for a sea view if you want one - our tour operator told us that all the villas had sea views - this isn't the case at all. Rooms are quite small - but OK - as we didn't spend a lot of time in them. Maid service was excellent as were most of the bar staff. Entertainment team was good - evening entertainment was directed towards the younger families - which suited us with 2 children (4 & 2 years). I would imagine older children might get a bit bored. During the day they had a full program - with beach volleyball, football etc throughout the day.
Although it was all inclusive - I was disappointed that you couldn't eat or drink in certain areas. With young children we spent a lot of time in the childrens pool - but only people staying in the hotel next door could get free drinks etc. So we did spend a lot of time walking between hotels to get drinks and food. Food in the restaurants became very repetitive with chips being the only thing they could do with potatoes! Some days the food was good - but after 2 weeks I was looking forward to something a bit different - most of it was a bit bland - they could do with having a bit more variety.
Overall weather 7/10, Beach & Sea 8/10, Entertainment 6/10, Accom 5/10, Food 4/10.

4 years ago we took 2 of our grandchildren to this resort. They loved it so much that this time ,because they were both coming with us again we decided to take them back.I was totally disappointed at what we got.The whole place is so beautiful that you would never imagine what awaits you in the restaurant.HELL!!! the food is appalling. My husband was ill for 2 days and on the last day i was very unwell, thanks very much to the young lady from Ireland who kindly gave me tablets for my discomfort,I cant believe that first choice continues to recommend this resort after all the reports that have been coming in.No matter how much my grandsons loved the pool .internet, games etc. if I have to take them out to eat ,it defeats the purpose.Elinite village is beautiful, perfectly situated on the beach, clean pools clean rooms, fantastic maid service, good bus service to sunny beach, food RUBBISH

The staff are misrable, they never smiled or acknowledge you, we found them rude and abrupt. The food was ok however it was diffecult to get a clean table on times, we often had to clear our table before getting food. The system to use to "al a carte" restarants leave a lot to be disired, you were expected to queue on the morning, but by the time they get to you their favourite saying was full, then in the evening you would walk past and the resturant would be half empty. Also not all the bars on the complex were included in the all inclusive, they were the ones showing the football (strange that is!)
Still it was cheap and its true you get what you pay for. The beach on the plus side was lovely and the cakes and ice cream were very moreish.

my husband and i together with nine members of our family have just returned from elenite holiday village. it was the nicest and cleanest place we have ever been to. food was superb with lots of varieties at every meal, microwaves available to heat your food up to suit you. rooms were cleaned every day. we had a lovely villa overlooking the beach and didnot have too many steps to climb. all the staff were very friendly. it is definitely an ideal place to be on a family holiday with plenty of activities for children every day. my husband and i really enjoyed the peace and the laid back atmosphere.

I was part of a group of 11 people who stayed at the holiday village. Not one of us could fault anything about the place, the cleaniness, the food, and the friendly, helpful staff. i would recommend this holiday resort to anyone, groups, couples, families. there is plenty for everyone to do. The daytimes are laid back or full ao activities whichever you choose them to be. The nights are quiet but sunny beach is only a 5min taxi ride for anyone who wants more excitement. The rooms are very clean and come complete with t.v, fridge and aircon.

We returned from our holiday 14th June 2008. The village is in a really beautiful setting, clean and very child friendly, though I would not recommend for adults travelling alone and wanting a peaceful holiday. A bonus was seeing the dolphins come right up close to the shore, a really beautiful sight. Some of the staff were really cheerful and friendly, although others were rude and surly, and most unhelpful. Now the minus points. If you like pork with everything then this is the place, pork soup, pork meatballs, pork steak, still attached to the bone, pork sausage, roast pork. Veal on the menu twice in the week chicken 4 times, once roasted, three times on skewers. Don't think the chef knows how to cook potatoes other than chips, and only one vegetable per meal. The nighttime entertainment is wonderful for kids, my husband nicknamed the Animation nightclub the ceebeebies, nothing for adults apart from one game of bingo. They do have other entertainment in the week, for which you have to pay from 10 lev to 28 lev. If they can they charge for everything. The drinks available are very poor, my husband rated the wine as undrinkable, very week, tried both the red and white, the white being the worst of the two, still we bought wine daily, at least that was drinkable. I very rarely drink, but occassionally like a Cointro and lemonade, they had never heard of this. We only had our hotel room for 6 nights, coming in on a night flight and booking in on 7th June at 7.00 a.m. and having to check out at 12 noon on 13th, we then had to pay 20 lev approx £10 for a shower, this they called a courtesy room. Bus to Sunnybeach 3 lev to Nessebar 4 lev. Bus from bus station in Sunnybeach to Bourgass (If you want to do some real shopping and see the real Bulgaria,) well worth the 16 lev return fare. Summing up, really enjoyed the holiday albeit the worst all inclusive we have ever experienced. Think the tour operators need to make it clear to the management what is expected from an all inclusive and quality of drinks, alcohol content.

We went to Elenite village last July for 2 weeks. We are going again at the end of August this year.
Last year we went with our daughter and 6 year old granddaughter.
Its ideal for children ,as straight from the hotel there is the beach.
There is a lot of steps all over. That's the only down side. But we new this before we booked as it does say in the brochure. It kept us fit any way .
We have asked for a lower down chalet this year.
My granddaughter is so exited and cannot wait to go back in 12 weeks time.
The kids club she loved to.Also the water park. You have to pay for the sun beds and umbrellas like everyone says. But we just went a couple of times. It makes a change if you are there for the 2 weeks. We didn't mind paying as it was A/I.And we didn't have to spend much money for the 2 weeks we were there.
The cafe down stair shuts at around 10-30 PM.But you can get served up stairs in the night bar to 12 PM.You just need to get a few drinks in one go ,so you have them for when the A/I finishes. You can still get drinks after that ,but you have to pay.But eating and drinking all day ,we didn't need to be drinking late into the evening.
I am a vegetarian and a bit of a fussy eater. But I though the food really good .There was plenty of different things to choice from. I cannot understand what people are complaining about.
The staff were very friendly. People are saying on here that they are not.But if you speak to them and are pleasant .They are lovely back.We are looking forward to seeing one of the cleaners again this year if she's still there. My little granddaughter fell in the restaurant with her food, and spilt gravy on her hand .She was so upset. But one of the cleaners quickly got her and took her to the toilet to put her hand under cold water. She was fine after that.So she made a friend then. And is hoping to see her again this year.
A good time was had by all of us.And we have 5 going with us this year.
I can highly recommend it

We arrived at the resort early hours of the morn and yes we were met by the golf buggies who took us to the reception, we booked in fine and then were escorted with our luggage to our room, we were staying in the village which are small apartments, if you are staying in one of these do not expect luxury but they are clean and are very adequate, the maids clean the room every day and are pleasant enough.
We had 2 weeks here and loved it the food was not the best but we didnt go hungry there was always something to eat, we used the royal park pool alot but the poolside bar doesnt serve yelow bands but there is a little bar and kiosk that does pizza and kebabs very near by, the pools and sea are outstanding the staff may seem rude but i think it is more the language barrier (dont forget we are in there country)the animation team are very good they can be found in the animation room or the ampitheater (check it out good fun for the kids) The beach bar you pay for drinks as well as the irish bar and the cocktail bar, i would agree that although this is an all in resort there are hidden costs so be prepared the safe in the room was about 95 leva for the two weeks we got a taxi to sunny beach and nessebar sunny beach was ok but we loved nessebar a small little town with lots to see, there is loads of different things to do at the resort so you wont be bored (dont forget it may cost) the wasps were abit of a pain but we got used to them (unlike the germans he he ).
Over all we loved it if you go with a bit of an open mind you will love it to hope you enjoy
