La Siesta is Quaint Authentic Mexico
from diamondeb
We had one night at the end of the trip in Puerto Vallarta and stayed at Hotel La Siesta located on the hill behind and a few blocks north of the Church of Guadalupe. What a wonderful little, authentic Mexican hotel. There were 6 floors of rooms with 3 rooms per floor all with ocean (Banderas Bay?) views. We had a Junior Suite with a comfy king bed. The view was incredible as it was a corner suite facing Banderas Bay so we could see most the entire city. The small pool was clean and clear and heated just right. Atop La Siesta is the...

Some Things You Should Know
from A TripAdvisor Member
For the price we paid for a room a la Siesta, I believe the accommodations were probably a fair value based on the location (the fact that it was overlooking the shores of Mexico). However, there are some things you should know if you are considering staying at this hotel. - (1) The photographs displayed on this site for the Hotel Suites la Siesta are 110% misleading. I wish now I had taken my own photos to post here. We occupied two different room TYPES on two different floors of the hotel so, it isn't like we only experienced one...

It's everything the others have said! What a view!

My adult son and daughter and I just returned from La Siesta Suites yesterday after a 5-day stay 12/28/05 -1/2/06. Readers' reports here had persuaded me to switch to this hotel from another that had almost been a bad mistake. It seems that all the negs noted here have been remedied: there are washcloths, plenty of flatware and glasses as well as ice trays in the frig, the pool is heated, the elevator works fine, and there were quite a few new-looking deck chairs around the pool. As previously noted, the rooms were immaculate, the service...

worth every step

What a great little hotel. Reasonably priced and very laid back atmosphere. The staff were very accomodating once we found our reservation. I booked online directly with them and confirmed our reservation before we left. The rooms are very simple but clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony was spectacular!! Having stayed downtown this year, I will never stay in hotel zone again by choice. It is within walking distance to everything. Even though we were four blocks back from the Malecon, we could see plenty of sights... dolphins, the...

Authentic Mexico
from PrincessofConfection
La Siesta was the real Mexico. Downtown, high above the beach (yet only a 5 minute walk). The view is unforgettable! You can see the whole Bay from here. If you're looking for the Ritz or even your 'run of the mill' Holiday Inn, this is NOT it. It is old stucco walls and Mexican tiles, cobblestone streets, immaculately clean rooms and wonderful people who want only the best for their guests. The pool was lovely and never crowded. It is a place to relax and unwind (probably not the best for kids--too quiet). We had a Junior Suite...

Heated pool!!

Staying at La Siesta for a month is getting a real taste of Mexico. Sometimes things (like the elevator) don't work but they get fixed pretty fast. The view is wonderful!!! But in order to enjoy the view you have to climb a very steep hill to get to the hotel. There is noise at night from the nightclub down the hill and also from the restaurant at the top of the hotel and from the ever-present roosters who announce the dawn throughout the day. But the staff is cheerful, the owner knows every thing and everybody and there are a number of...

Good hotel with authentic Mexican flair
from Cubs_Lover
The Hotel Suites la Siesta was a good hotel for the price. We had a group of 10 people, and had plenty of room by booking two two-bedroom suites. We had a difficult time obtaining towels and sheets the first day, but the hotel was more responsive to our requests the second day. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the room, and the fireworks from the pirate ship were fantastic to watch every evening. Please note that there is no air conditioning in the room. The fans work well although they can be a little noisy. Also, the El...

WHAT A VIEW
from A TripAdvisor Member
We've stayed there twice. Most recently in August 2004. The walk up the hill takes some getting used to. What a view of the bay! The price of our room was great; $42 plus tax. The littlle pool was also nice. They should have an ice machine on the property. The place across the street was out of ice at the time. The bartender of El Panorama was nice enough to share some ice for our Margaritas. I'm sure we'll return. It's a nice place to stay after our timeshare week.
A good downtown condo option

Ten of us -- six adults and four children ages 8-13 stayed in two two-bedroom suites at Hotel Suites Las Siesta for four nights over the 2003 Christmas Holiday. The units were 1) very spacious (two good sized bedrooms -- both with king beds and a large common area with two dorm room type couches that could double as single beds), 2) extremely close to the Malacon, 3) had lots of Mexican charm, and 4) had a view of Puerto Vallarta to die for. Most of the adults in our party would stay there again. In the two bedroom units rather than a...

Located high on a hill overlooking the Malecon and the Bay of Banderas. We have stayed here several times. The corner rooms with wrap-around balcony are great. The view is awesome. Within easy walking distance of the Malecon and Los Muertos Beach, but be prepared to grab a cheap cab ride back to the hotel unless you are really cardiovascularly fit.
