Los Tules Resort Hotel

We were in LosTules in April 2003. We were there when Kenna struck. All was fixed up by April and you would never know the devastation caused by Kenna. We plan to go back in 2004 and annually for that matter!

My boyfriend and I went to Puerto Vallarta from Nov. 9-15th, 2003 and stayed at Los Tules Resort. We had the greatest time there! I was personally very impressed with the lush green gardens, the beautiful ocean view from our room, the hotel room itself, and the friendly staff. As soon as we were checking in, the woman at the front desk was very helpful answering all of our questions on the nightlife, restaurants, etc... My wife and I have stayed at Los Tules numerous times (8-9) in past years. Typically, we get a 1 bedroom suite which includes living room, kitchen, bedroom, 2 baths, balcony, ocean view or ocean front. This year we rented a suite only. Big Mistake for a 7 day stay. It would have been okay for a 3-4 day stay, but much too small for the length of time that we were there. There was no room for luggage, clothes, etc.... Just returned from a week at Los Tules and a week at Mayan Palace, Nuevo Vallarta. ( Much preferred Los Tules...Mayan Palace might as well be in California...you really feel like you've left Mexico when you check in there!) The grounds, the pools, the sundecks, the location, the staff truly make Los Tules an ideal place to stay. We had a 3 bedroom/4 bathroom condo and were very pleased with what it had to offer. I'm of two minds when talking about Los Tules as it's a beautiful complex but was hurt badly by Kenna which came in 3 months before we were there. Los Tules used to have the most gorgeous grounds (almost) in PV until Kenna took them all away and as of Jan 2003 there is the most dirt in all of PV. The condo we had was right on the ocean with a huge balcony, 3 bedrooms & 3.5 baths, full kitchen, dining room and living room. Very, very nice. Our family just got back from Puerto Vallarta. We had a very good time there and at Los Tules. You've got plenty of choices of where to stay when you travel. Most of the time, your room is just a room. You'll get a bed, a bathroom and that's it. At Los Tules, we had a 2 bathrooms, a full-kitchen, dining area, living room, and a master bedroom. Los Tules is the most beautiful property in Puerto Vallarta. We have stayed at many hotels, swanky and not swanky, we contined to go back to Los Tules, simply because it's the best!

The Los Tules resort in PV is a nice place to visit. Unfortunately, it was also a nice place for Hurricane Kenna to Visit shortly before us, and the damage was quite severe. Our room was acceptable, but the grounds were still under repair, and the construction work far from relaxing. 11 pools, nice restaurant, and a courteous staff. NO pressure on the grounds for a time-share, but when you step off you get hit! It's right across the street from the Gigante grocery, and bus service was great. We spent two weeks, (June 23-July5th 2003) at Los Tules and were very happy with the accomodations. The pools could be a bit cooler, and there is only one restaurant. We had a room right on the ocean. There wasn't nearly as much damage as I expected from Hurricane Kenna. When we didn't get the room we had reserved with a terrace, they accomodated us the very next day. Cab fare from Los Tules to downtown ranged between $3.50 - $5.00 USD depending on the cab driver. We spent a week at Los Tules earlier this month, and did not find it to be too bad. Our standard room was extremely standard, AC ran all day and was noisy, dresser had such a musty smell we kept the clothes in the suitcases. They did have a fridge, and provided a nice crib for our 5 month old. There are different lobbies for different visitors (time share, renters, owners), but staff overall was polite and friendly.
