" Not Bad for the money! "

Just got back yesterday from estival park, we as a family with a six year old enjoyed our stay very much. Room cleaned whenever asked for, fresh towels everyday, Efficient if a little abrupt hotel staff although i am told from a reliable source that all Spanish people have different ways of dealing with people than us brits and would rather be efficient than make friends so as long as my requests were dealt with then no problems which they were! The bar staff were ignorant however talking to each other rather than serving. Cleaning lady Vanesa was really nice always polite and did a really good job.
Pool was freezig cold and used little by anyone but then again we were there in october!
Beach very close by 5 min walk through the well kept grounds of the hotel and very flat. Beach itself was clean and water warm for time of year.
Found a Bar 5 min walk away Run by an English couple ANNES BEACH BAR there we sampled some excellent food and hospitality The burgers are home made and to die for! right on the beach so our son could play while we sat there and chatted for hours. ANNES BEACH BAR has to be visited by every British person who visits La Pineda especially those who fancy so good old fashioned british scran Anne and Jeff made great company too and were very welcoming towards our son we thank them.
trip to barcelona was gr8 and we reccomend the bus tour which is run almost directly from the hotel which includes the nou camp stadium really good value and a break from the beach.
All in all breakfast was supurb and dinner adequate although a huge choice, resteraunt very claen and ran well.
we would go again off season perhaps it would be too busy peak time.

Advice: excellant beach and a range of shops and bars Visit ANNES BEACH BAR A MUST!!!!!!!!!!

Activities: ANNES BEACH BAR, Barcelona bus trip and Nou camp for football fans!

" My thoughts "

Nice hotel but i found the reception team to very rude and they dont seem to have manors. Also, one evening me and my partner went for dinner. We sat down and a waitress came over to ask if we wanted a drink, i said 1 coke and 1 sprite please, she didnt understand sprite so my partner went to the fridge and pointed to help her understand but before the waitress walked over to the fridge she put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes which i found very rude. Me and my partner went all incluive but it wasent actually all inclusive. The drinks on the menu that we could have for free was disgusting and there wasent much of a choice. To get a drink that we liked we had to pay 1 euro.
Over all, i will not recomend the hotel to anyone. The price that we paid for all inclusive is not worth it, there wasent much food to choice from aswell. I would not say the hotel is a 4 star, more like 2/3 star.

Advice: Not worth it

" Bariatric Holiday "

If your BMI is over 50 and you intend to increase it, then this is the resort for you. The highest density of enormously over weight women I have ever seen in one place*!!! Bog standard Hotel and sub-standard grub. Meals are generally life-shortening left-overs re-presented several times and finally ending up as soup. Haven't worked out why mashed potatoes are served at breakfast... Surly bar-staff add to the general ambiance of despair. The Spa and Aqua Club is, however, is excellent and under used. I wonder why?*

Advice: It's dull

Activities: There are none

" most enjoyable "

just got back friday from a two week stay in estival park 11 where too start our pick up at the airport was very quick the rep was there too meet us and helped us find our coaches we arrived at estival 11 very quickly abt 15,20 min from airport the rep explained a few things to us abt our stay and what the area was like.
we got to the hotel abt 1pm our room wasnt ready which we had expected as we read up on this also checkin is at 2pm so we were early the reception staff were lovely spoke very good english not like reported in many reviews actually most of the staff spoke very good english there was a very few who only had a small amt of english but could make themselves understood .we were given our all inclusive bands so we could start enjoying ourselfs straight away also they have an secure baggage room to leave your suitcases in so no lugging them around, was told to go back in an hour to see if our rfoom was ready and it was .
the room , when we booked we ask the travell agent to see if we could have a low floor room as my daughter is afraid of lifts and i have a bad back wasnt holding out fot this but was very pleasenty surprised when we got there an we had a room on the reception level we were gvin room 2050 it was a duplex room which surprised us as we only booked a twin room .it was overlooking the pool and just at the upper side of the stage which was lovely as if we didnt want to go down for entertainment we could watch from our balcony .the bathroom and room was very clean and spacious we even had a mini fridge in the room ,our rooms were cleaned every day new towells put in the room every day as lon as they were put at the floor by the bath here was always plenty of water for showers or a bath but the bath isnt the biggest but ideal for kids.the re was always toilet rolls put in the rooms every day and wash essentials supplied every day also.
now abT the restaraunt and the snack bar and bars .too start the restaraunt was always very clean and hyginic the staff were very pleasent all it takes is a hola when you arrive and a gracious when you leave also now and again it dosnt hurt to put some change in the tips jar this is greatly appreciated but not essential the food was very varied and plenty of it to go around but two weeks is too much as it gets repetitive but always something for every one and every nationality as this is a multi national hotel as we were there, there was 7 different nationalitys there ,so u can understand there being multie national cusines on offer, as soon as you were seated you were approached by a waitress and asked what you wanted to drink, the service was next to none as for all the stories abt the food being cold that was rubbish the only foods that were cold were salads and cakes and some desserts.the snack bar was very good you went to the bar and ordered what you wanted then you were given a card with it wrote on and you gave it to the snack lady now we read a lot of storys abt the snack lady not being very talkative and being a bit abrupt so to defend here here lets say yes she is a bit abrupt and you can understand it wouldent we all be that way after serving many rude costumers she works very hard and she works by herself all day from 11am till 11pm so wouldnt it get to you a bit also she is one of the staff that has very limited english but her snacks are too die for especially her ham and cheese toasties there delicious .now the bar in the snack section you can help yourself to beer alcolic cocktail of the day and sambuks also soft drinks tea coffee and chocolate there is crispa peanuts and a veriety of cakes on offer here too also ice lollies icecrean and milkshakes so no need for any one too go hungrey the cocktails work on a traffic like system some r free and some you will have to pAY 1E FOR BUT THIS really only covers the decorations you get the staff here are nice too except for one bloke he can be a misserable git but do what we did and ignore him he gets the message and cheers up then also like the restaurant itb dos;nt hurt to give a tip here and there and it dosnt have to be much either asls both snack bar and the bar is very clean here .
noe the rest of the place what is there to say its very clean the pools are spotliss the games area is very intrestig and keeps the teenagers amused all in all its a very lovely place .
i will be going back there again in the near future hopefully with extended family all i can say is thank you estival park and all the staff also the first choice reps especially little john ps there was a rock in roll convention on while we were there it diddnt interfare with anythinng except maybe one nights enternaiment when it rained but you still had enternaiment in hotel 1 and 3 so no worries we found it really intresting and the people were lovely also it endeddby 12 pm so that wasnt a problem
so my advice to every one whos thinking of booking this hotel is book go and enjoy yourselfs and make up your own minds im glad we did and we didnt listen to the bad reviews as we would have missed out on a great holiday also la pineda is a lovely little place but dont shop in the giftshop nx to the supermarket as they rip you off i bought a flimco dress and shoes for a 3yr old a babys liverpool kit and two magnets there they charged me 85e we went into salou a few days later it only costs 1.85 on the bus and the same items would have cost me 25e for them all when i said it to them they denied selling them to me so be warned abt this shop.

Advice: la pineda is a lovely little place

Activities: barcalona and mcdonalds

" Estival Park II "

We have just came back from Estival Park II. There was me and my husband and our 3 year old daughter and my parents. We would definitely go back to the the hotel as everyone was helpful and friendly.
The hotel was very good and clean and the rooms were clean and airy with lovely air con. The rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard.
I found the food to be quite average but there was a good choice of things to go for. I particularly liked the croissants for breakfast. There is a help yourself snack bar open from 11-11 where you can get as much pop, milkshakes and ice creams as you like which my daughter took full advantage of.
The entertainment was not that good. There was a Tom Jones act and dancers but very average.
There were lots of sunbeds and you didn't have to reserve them as you could always get a bed no matter what time you came down the the pool. The baby pool was a great depth for my daughter. The adult pool was very deep though and at 5ft 7 I could just touch the floor in the shallow end.
The beach is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and there is a long strip of bars and shops along the front. As we were AI we didn't eat out apart from one night and we went to the Waterfront bar and the food was gorgeous and the service we got was fantastic. The lady that served us was Caroline and she made you feel very welcome.
We went to the Aqua Park which is 5 mins walk away from the hotel and there was a good dolphin show there. They have a childrens part with pools and slides and an adult part. My 3 year old daughter loved it. Only downside is they price the tickets on height not on age so it was a little expensive. My daughter also loved the play park on the Estival site.
** The only bad thing we had was we got there at 11am and went to reception only to bed told that we couldn't check in till 2pm! We had to put our luggage in our room and then go away till 2pm! We were all dressed in jeans and were sweating! If First Choice had told us this would happpen we would have booked a later flight *********

Advice: It is a quiet resort but lovely.

Activities: Waterfront Pub and the Aqua Park

" We just keep going back........ "

I have only put pen to paper (or should i say fingers to keyboard) after reading the reviews and being amazed by some of the not so nice comments (although of course every one is entitled to their own opinion).
Estival park is a fantastic hotel to stay in - and one that as a group of friends we return to year after year - we have been in spring, summer and autumn and have always experienced the same high standard. We always stay in Hotel II the all inclusive one. The hotel is always spotless - the food is outstanding (and believe me - we have tried several other hotels) and the staff friendly and helpful.
What most impressed me about the restaurant is that most of the food is cooked fresh in front of you - a far cry from some hotels I have stayed in where everything is a mixture of deep fried rubbish and limp salad and cold chips!!!
There is always a choice of several different meats and fish - potato dishes vary and loads of different salads and rice dishes etc. We always eat loads - but don't pile on the pounds as it is all fresh, wholesome food (although there is always chips for those that fancy). The snack bar always has bacon rolls, hot dogs, burgers and chips for those not wanting the restaurant food.
Plenty of drinks - soft or otherwise all day and evening long. Lunchboxes can be ordered if you are wanting to go out during the day too.
The pools are more than adequate and are always always clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds.
The spa complex on the site is absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced.
The location is amazing - with a beautiful sandy beach just across the road. We have been in to Barcelona from the hotel and been awed by the fantastic fountains there.
The only thing that I agree could be improved is the evening entertainment - but hey..... in the grand scheme of things?????
As I say we have tried other places and found them to be severely lacking compared to this hotel....................... which we are due to visit again in............ oh just over two weeks ;-)

" Thumbs Down "

Only spent 2 nights half board at Estival Park Hotel, our main concern was you had to pay 15 euro to use the indoor pool and a further 5 euro if you wanted to borrow a towel. We accept you had use of other facilities around the pool area but if you only wanted to swim it was still 15 euro! never before have we been charged for using a indoor pool in a Spanish hotel. The food was generally cold, we had to use the microwave at every meal.

Advice: Nice hotel, but if you want to swim in the winter beware of the price!

" Fantastic Holiday "

From the start it was great our transfer from the airport took only about 15 mins. The reception at the hotel was fast and very friendly even though our rooms were not ready we put our luggage in a secure room and got our bands on our wrists and started to enjoy the place. The hotel and rooms were very clean room service was quick and thorough. The food was supererb fresh with a huge variety to choose from. Entertainment was put on every night for all and you had the choice of 3 hotels to choose from. The beach was only about 4 mins walk from the hotel and Aquapolis water park is only 10 mins walk away . We had 3 children aged 9,10 and 12 me and the wife and my parents and we all were very happy would i go back "yes" would i recommend it "yes" .......

downsides to me were a/ bar shuts to early at 11 30 b/had to pay for room safe.
c/we didnt pack a towel for the pool expecting one to be supplied.
d/entertianment was crap.

" Viva Las Estival Park...wacky diners & all!!! "

I think from all the other reviews you can see that the meal times were an issue!!
Variety was brilliant and in abundance, always warm , waiters friendly if you at least attempted their language but the food was definately 'of the region'. If you are unadventurous, like myself, please go self catering!!
In regards to the competiveness of the meal times. Totally true, but if you show a bit of patience and choose to hold back and let them make idiots of themselves, there is plenty for everyone. We experienced queues the first night, we went earlier from then on, problem solved!!!
The Resort was amazing. Totally geared for kids.Entertainment great. Helpful staff who would try and help you out with anything etc. Waterpark fantastic!!!!!
Would definately say that if you want a party party holiday this is not for you, they are considerate to a family holiday totally which suited us.
Would go back in a heart beat which is all anyone could ever recommend.

" Just returned from a two week holiday... "

Just returned from a two week holiday at the Estival Park, on a half board basis. I have to say that a lovely resort and area were spoilt by the inept organisation of the hotel meals. If you are prepared to queue for up to half a hour for admittance to the dining area then fight and dodge your way between other holiday makers for your meal, then this might be the ideal holiday for you.

If, like myself and wife, you expect slightly more from a four star hotel. Then for your own peace of mind, Dont Go!!!!!

Out of the fourteen nights we went for our evening meal, three were very nice and of a reasonable standard, eleven were at best dire. Tough hard to digest meats, fish dishes labled as only fish (no idea of type), salad choice did not vary for whole holiday, and once we could not even attract the waitress's attention to even get a drink with our meal(possibly we should have tripped her up and twisted her hand behind her back, but we thought this a little bit drastic!)

" got back from a fantastic week... "

got back from a fantastic week holiday with the girls only a few days ago. First impressions were good, hotel reception was clean and the staff were conciderate when our room wasnt ready. Pool was always clean and even though it was busy there was always a sunbed or two to catch up on those rays we all go there for.
the room was a good size and balcony a plesant added extra. The kids entertainers are fantastic with them and even took their own time to talk to you. Bar staff were extreamly friendy..maybe because we were four young girls? but none the less. All inclusive drinks are faw and few between but once you find the right one stick to it!
down points were the food and other guests. Chips every lunch and night got abit sick of it, a wide range spread but catered towards other nationalities rather then the english. If people think we english are rude then you should of stayed when we went. Queing up for supper one evening a really rude woman behind my friend physically shoved her out of the way and was shouting obscene language in foreign. On another occasion at the nightly entertainment, the room was packed and 3 small english children walked out for whatever reason and a german woman behind where we were sitting got so aggitated she was kicking of. So if you want to feel proud of yourself to say please, and thankyou then go here as you'll be the only guests which do.
overall it was a great holiday with a few good bars along by the beach especially glu glu...tip to young people, if you dance then they give you free drinks which we found out, but do be carefull of the woman on the street saying free shot...its only free if you but another drink to go with it. we found this out, downed the shot and made a move!
cant wait to go again.

" Just returned from a 1 week stay at... "

Just returned from a 1 week stay at the Estival and have got to say that me and my girlfriend loved it. We stayed in Estival 2, which is mainly full of English which we found to be very good as we got to meet loads of people and for that reason enjoyed our self much more.

The hotel itself is in a very good location, only about 10 mins to Salou on the Bus (around 1.60 euro). The beach is just a short walk from the hotel too (around 5 min), with lots of small shops and bars on the front. The beach was one of the best iv been to, with the sand golden and the sea is clear blue (lots of fish life inlcusing a lot of jelly fish realy far out).

The hotel itself is kept very clean. The cleaners would spend a good half hour in each room, making bed, changing towls, and general cleaning. A few reviews have mentioned how bad the food is. I can tell you that the food is NOT bad, however i do belive that the English are not catered for as much as the foreign guests, although me and my girlfriend still ate in the restaurant 3 times a day every day.

If the food is'nt for you then there is a snack bar that does things like fries, hot dogs, and burgers etc. Also if you like your beer you can use all three hotel bars (estival 1 or 3 do bottles, where as estival 2 do plastic points cups). In Estival 2 there is also a self serve where you can get beer, pop, milk shakes, bottled water, ice lollies and lots of different snacks.

Me and my girlfriend were looky enough to get a pool view family room, which was emaculate and was fully air conditioned without charge.

We also found the entertainment to be very good, with a variety of shows being put on which the animation team make you have a real good laff. Also we went on a day trip to Barcelona (around 57 euro to go the the Nou Camp, city tour, trip to Sagrada Familia, and the Barcelona Fountain show on the night- all i can say is what an amazing city and is a must do in our opinion), any way the hotel provide pick-nicks for you if you ask which turned out to be very handy. Also Portaventura if a MUST, although do not pay more than 40 euro as me and my girfriend got a 2 week pass for 40 euro each but some people we spoke to payed 80 euro each for 3 days!!!

There are always sun beds available next the pool through out the day, although the pool is freezing when you first get in you do get used to it.

On the downside to the holiday a couple of staff were quite rude, but most staff have a laff with you and are always there if you want something. Also after we had checked out my girlfriend realised that she had left her coat in the room, but when we asked at the recpetion they said nothing was left, and all the cleaners had gone home, in our opinion the cleaners had it for them selves.

Estival Park apeals to families, young singles and couples with everybody seeming to be happy. Me and my girlfriend are currently going through Post Holiday Blues, as we loved it so much!! We will definatly be going back and i would recommend Estival Park to any body.

" Just returned from an all inclusive... "

Just returned from an all inclusive holiday at Estival Park with First choice holidays, found the food to be disgusting is the only way to describe it, ended up eating out a lot !.
Accomadation left a lot to be desired no water for 2 days toilet broken and a constant smell of sewage. On the up side Estival 2 had nightly entertainment which normally lasted an hour or so before the staff starting packing up the tables & chairs around you
found the staff at times to be rude & inconsiderate, all in all would not recommend Estival Park as it is could be a lot better.

" We are a family of 4, with a 10 year... "

We are a family of 4, with a 10 year old and a 13 yearold. We were up from 4'oclock in the morning and arrived at the hotel around 12.45 in the afternoon to be told that checking in was not untill 5'o clcck in the evening , needless to say there was no mention of this in the broucher or from the lady who droped us off at the hotel, not only were we exausted, we had not dressed for the heat we were experiencing. When asked when we would be able to have our room the girl at reception was extremely unpleasent and not one bit helpfull, when we were allowed into our room the door would not open and, a number of trips back to the unfriendly receptionest, it took untill 8'o clock, we could not leave the room, not wanting to leave any of our things in a room that would not lock.
I found the staff at this hotel very unpleasant boardering on nasty and rude, but the reps were very nice and helpful. The layout of the all enclusive was hard to get the hang off and with no one there to explain and the lady who done the snack bar just looked very unhappy all day and would have been quick to give off to both adults and children alike.
The hotel itself was very good, clean and spacious.
We had a great holidaythere were plenty of things to do all day and only a 5 min walk from the beach and the shops. I would recommend this hotel to families, my children had a ball, and when they are happy so am i, i could have stayed another week.
