Was pleased with the hotel. The corridors were a let down, frazzled carpets and torn leather suites on display. This was block 1. First was given room 1102 - no view as was fully covered by trees, I asked if I could be moved and yes, the girl in reception moved me to a room - I could see most of the pool area from it.
The bedrooms are a good size, lovely balcony. Food was ok, always something you could eat.
There was no sign of any building works.

This is the 5th year that we have stayed at Estival; the first 3 with our children during August self catering and in Oct 2006 and 2007 for one week half board at Estival park in hotel 2 just my wife and I.
Very enjoyable, the rooms spotless, the staff very helpful and the restaurant evening meals were exceptional with a wide variety off both fish and meat dishes as well as being hot (So why couldn’t the breakfast food be hot also?) and that is our only fault with the hotel; lots of food available but always cold even when just delivered by hotel staff.
The waitresses themselves were very efficient and friendly .We will be returning next year at the some time.
WELL DONE.

We had a great two weeks in Estival Apartments. They are very clean and safe as you have 2 keys, one to the small complex and one to your room. Every small complex has their own pool, so not crowded.
The apartments are 2 mins from the beach and bus stops and local shops. Tarragona and Cambrilles are easy to reach by bus and also Barcelona. I would recommend the Waterfront for something to eat, it is a great place. The best thing of the holiday is that there are no timeshare people to bother you all the time.
All in all it was one of the best holidays we have had, and would certainly go again.

I have just returned from our first holiday abroad with my partner and 2 year old daughter, expectations were high as you can imagine, however we were soon let down when we arrived at Estival 1, because we had booked half board we were palmed off with the French, Germans and Spanish whilst all the English who were All Inclusive were in Estival 2.
We were the only English in this part of the hotel I think. We were talked down to and treated as scum because we were English.
Food terrible, nothing for children unless they like greasy French Fries for every meal and this was it for the kids. All food was catered for the French & German or if you like fish.
We ended up having to go to the Bank in the resort and withdrawing another 200 euros to eat out for every meal. Try the Waterfront Bar, a British run pub/restaurant that caters for everyone and very cheap and very friendly.
The resort itself, is lovely and you cannot fault the beaches; very safe and child friendly.
The weather was brilliant for October; 25 degrees most days.
Public Transport is brilliant too; buses every 5 minutes to the nearby Salou and every 30 minutes to Tarragona.
So even though the hotel was terrible the resort made up for this.
Would go back to Le Pineda but never to Estival Park again

We went on a family holiday with 3 children aged 13, 9, and 8. As we arrived the hotel looked beautiful and was really impressed. Arrived at half eleven in the morning and had to wait a couple of hours for our room which gave us time to explore.
We were hungry and were told that snacks were on all day till eleven at night. So we had a burger and chips which I could not complain about, also drinks were unlimited and you could help yourself which was beneficial with having 3 children.
Got the keys and were impressed with room as it had adjoining room and also air con. Got changed and went down to the pool which was a bit disappointing as the toddler pool was to shallow for my younger 2 and the other pool was far too deep as they were not strong swimmers.
Went to our room to get changed for our tea which the restaurant opened at 7.30pm there was lots to choose from ranging from salads to freshly cooked chicken and steak and the cakes were absolutely beautiful.
The entertainment was really good on the first night and then went downhill from there sometimes there were none on. You could use the other Estival park 1 and 3 but there entertainment was no better. You would just start to get in the mood for having a drink and a laugh until the waiters would start coming over and taking your chairs and tables it was only 11.30pm.
The waiters and bar people were very arrogant. I had a bit of trouble with them because one of my children had spilt ice cream on the floor they were always telling every bodies children off for something trivial, they reduced my son to tears so I was not happy. This is meant to be a child orientated hotel but it wasn’t.
I would not go back again unless they sorted the staff out. The bar was on later, and the pool was made safer for young children.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Esteval Park hotel for one week on a half board basis, Although this is a modern hotel with good facilities and is very clean, the things that spoilt our holiday was that the staff are very unfriendly towards every nationality and arguments happened frequently between hotel staff and visitors, some of whom were Spanish themselves.
The food in the restaurant was mostly sea food based (squid etc) but it was always cold, the local beach was over run by mosquitoes. We had to go into Salou to go to the beach which was about 15mins on the bus, the bus fares varied depending on the driver. But the highlight of our holiday was the Aquopolis water park which is about a 5 min walk from the hotel with great water rides and value for money especially as you do not pay any extra to see the performing dolphin and sea lion show.
All in all this was a reasonable holiday but we will go to another hotel next year.

I wasn't too impressed with the hotel, the food being the main reason why.
There was a wide range of food; however none of it was any good, so I don't recommend the all inclusive option at all! Unless you’re happy eating cold food and mashed potato for breakfast, or anything including octopus, which seemed to be in almost every dish there was along with prawns and muscles. There’s plenty of cheap English bars near by that serve far nicer food.
I stayed in the second hotel of the three, it was by far the worst of the three, and the other two were so clean and looked attractive where as 2 is plain. Boring and dirty.
The bar staff were very friendly yet half of them never know half the drinks you ask for or what they're served with! Also the cocktails cost €1 if you’re all inclusive, just because they are served in a posh glass with sugar round the edges!
The entertainment was great, the animation team were lovely and there was always some kind of activity on, all through the day and shows which were repeated each 2 weeks every night! There were 3 diff hotels which meant lots of variety in activities.
The first choice rep, (Scott) was very helpful and friendly, and even though he was ill whilst we were there, he carried on being as cheery and friendly!
The reception staff were very helpful also and friendly, along with the rep, bar staff and animation team.
However the waitresses in the second restaurant could learn how to smile and look less miserable!!
The pools were great and very clean! And the beach was lovely!
Also there’s hardly any English there, it was lovely to finally find some English while we were there to talk to! It's over run by Russians, and the majority of them were ignorant and rude.

I'm sure you will agree with me when I say there are mixed reviews about this hotel. Before I left for the resort this really confused me! However when I got there I could see why.
Firstly, one point I wish to make is this, the reception & bar staff are very helpful! I can promise you that! I don't understand where these stories of horrible staff comes from?
In fact the only unhelpful people were the first choice reps! What a waste of time these 2 reps were! Also to be honest First Choice are a waste of space!
There is a build of a golf course going on across the road and it can get noisy! But the people claiming that there are infestations of snakes and rats are pulling your leg! LA Pined a is the most beautiful and clean place I have ever been hand on heart!
Also as for the hotel being dirty, again I must protest, okay you may have a point that it isn’t 4* standard but I think it is very clean.
However one night I was very sick and had to get a doctor out, I think it was the ice-cream. I asked the first choice rep how I could get a doctor and she just mumbled and pointed to a flyer! I then asked the reception staff who had a doctor to me within minutes.
Make sure you visit the water parks and theme park! Great fun! Also the beach and sea is lovely! Watch out for the jellyfish though when the tide is coming in!
All in all if you have booked this holiday you are going to have a great time!
Would I go again? You bet I would! La Pineda is a wonderful place with wonderful people! Don’t be put off by the few writing bad reviews! They are just the few minority.

This was my first allocation on arrival holiday and how impressed I was.
The apartment were lovely and clean and so big!! There was only two of us and we ended up in a two bed apartment with a huge living/ dining/ kitchen room which for a large family would double up as another two beds. Large balcony overlooking the pool and could just about see the sea as we were on the top floor (3rd storey).
Close to La pineda where there's a fab water park guaranteed to keep adults and kids entertained for hours. If you don't mind walking it's about a 20min walk into the main resort of either Salou or La Pineda (opposite directions) or about a £5 for a taxi. Bus stop is just outside the apartments as well.
However, cap Salou has a lovely quiet beach and plenty of restaurants if you don't want to venture further out. Have been back to the area since and still love the place. Would recommend.

If you want to share your bedroom and balcony with rats this is the place for you!
There are numerous trees in close proximity to the hotels and the local rats (the ones from a nearby building site not the Hotels rats we were assured) had used them as ladders to climb onto our third floor balcony. I just wish I had known that before sleeping with the patio door open after the A/C had packed up.
The Hotel staff are rude. If you have the audacity to go to the bar after waiting for the waiter by the pool for 20 minutes you are ordered out (without any drinks) and told the waiter will come.
Oh if you like your swimming pool with excessive grease above the water line, black grout between the ceramic tiles (which once contained white grout) this is also the place for you.
The hall carpets are filthy (I never saw or heard a vacuum cleaning for my entire stay) and the Hotel's crockery is chipped and stained.
I should however caution that if you complain to the Hotel manager (he calls himself a Director) he will simply ignore you in true Basil Faulty fashion. I complained about the rats and asked for their Director's proposals having shown them photographs of the dear little rodents and their droppings and he said there was absolutely nothing he could (or would ) do!
Having booked two double rooms for my family I insisted on two alternative clean ones only to find one of the alternative rooms (1212) had what can best be described as an over powering smell of stale urine.
The room had been prepared but was cleaned again during which a soiled pair of boxer shorts was found behind the loo. So if you stayed in that room during the first week of August 2007 and have lost your black pants I know how you can reclaim them.
When the smell of bleach dissipated and the smell of urine returned we left the Hotel even though we had paid to stay longer and they would not refund our money.
One final observation, especially if you have young children with you, do not use the outside restaurant for breakfast because they lay the tables for breakfast the previous night. The tables, table clothes, crockery, cutlery, napkins etc are outside with the rats for nine hours (assuming there are some that have not scaled the trees and are sharing your accommodation) until they start to serve breakfast at 8.00. Still I am sure the local cats that can normally be seen going to the outside restaurant at 23.00 get most of the rats before they wee on your cutlery!
Will I remember my stay - yes but for all the wrong reasons. Is this a 4 star service? Go and answer that for yourself after all why should I have all the fun!

The apartments were nice and quiet with our own pool. The overall complex was very clean and tidy.
The resort itself didn’t have a lot of shops but was nice and Salou is only 5 mins on the bus. The best place to eat in La Pineda was The Waterfront. Julie the waitress was great, such a friendly person, and please say hello from Pearl, Ian, Matt and Rachel from the Isle of Man.
The waterpark at La Pineda was a good day out and also Portaventura is definitely a must for all age’s .I don’t think we would go back there but we enjoyed our stay there.

Great hotel - ignore bad comments although we did go out of season.
Staff helpful food very hot - for example at breakfast eggs were continuously cooked ten at a time so were always hot.
Bar staff were punctual and friendly. Rooms made up every day.
Yes there was landscaping going on at front of hotel 8am till 7pm, but did not affect our afternoon siesta.
Summing up brilliant hotel and resort!
