Just returned from a two week holiday...
2 / 10
Oct 2008, Mr C Bridge

Just returned from a two week holiday at the Estival Park, on a half board basis. I have to say that a lovely resort and area were spoilt by the inept organisation of the hotel meals. If you are prepared to queue for up to half a hour for admittance to the dining area then fight and dodge your way between other holiday makers for your meal, then this might be the ideal holiday for you.
If, like myself and wife, you expect slightly more from a four star hotel. Then for your own peace of mind, Dont Go!!!!!
Out of the fourteen nights we went for our evening meal, three were very nice and of a reasonable standard, eleven were at best dire. Tough hard to digest meats, fish dishes labled as only fish (no idea of type), salad choice did not vary for whole holiday, and once we could not even attract the waitress's attention to even get a drink with our meal(possibly we should have tripped her up and twisted her hand behind her back, but we thought this a little bit drastic!)

got back from a fantastic week...
8 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss E Turner

got back from a fantastic week holiday with the girls only a few days ago. First impressions were good, hotel reception was clean and the staff were conciderate when our room wasnt ready. Pool was always clean and even though it was busy there was always a sunbed or two to catch up on those rays we all go there for.
the room was a good size and balcony a plesant added extra. The kids entertainers are fantastic with them and even took their own time to talk to you. Bar staff were extreamly friendy..maybe because we were four young girls? but none the less. All inclusive drinks are faw and few between but once you find the right one stick to it!
down points were the food and other guests. Chips every lunch and night got abit sick of it, a wide range spread but catered towards other nationalities rather then the english. If people think we english are rude then you should of stayed when we went. Queing up for supper one evening a really rude woman behind my friend physically shoved her out of the way and was shouting obscene language in foreign. On another occasion at the nightly entertainment, the room was packed and 3 small english children walked out for whatever reason and a german woman behind where we were sitting got so aggitated she was kicking of. So if you want to feel proud of yourself to say please, and thankyou then go here as you'll be the only guests which do.
overall it was a great holiday with a few good bars along by the beach especially glu glu...tip to young people, if you dance then they give you free drinks which we found out, but do be carefull of the woman on the street saying free shot...its only free if you but another drink to go with it. we found this out, downed the shot and made a move!
cant wait to go again.

Just returned from a 1 week stay at...
9 / 10
Sep 2008, mwhill1987

Just returned from a 1 week stay at the Estival and have got to say that me and my girlfriend loved it. We stayed in Estival 2, which is mainly full of English which we found to be very good as we got to meet loads of people and for that reason enjoyed our self much more.
The hotel itself is in a very good location, only about 10 mins to Salou on the Bus (around 1.60 euro). The beach is just a short walk from the hotel too (around 5 min), with lots of small shops and bars on the front. The beach was one of the best iv been to, with the sand golden and the sea is clear blue (lots of fish life inlcusing a lot of jelly fish realy far out).
The hotel itself is kept very clean. The cleaners would spend a good half hour in each room, making bed, changing towls, and general cleaning. A few reviews have mentioned how bad the food is. I can tell you that the food is NOT bad, however i do belive that the English are not catered for as much as the foreign guests, although me and my girlfriend still ate in the restaurant 3 times a day every day.
If the food is'nt for you then there is a snack bar that does things like fries, hot dogs, and burgers etc. Also if you like your beer you can use all three hotel bars (estival 1 or 3 do bottles, where as estival 2 do plastic points cups). In Estival 2 there is also a self serve where you can get beer, pop, milk shakes, bottled water, ice lollies and lots of different snacks.
Me and my girlfriend were looky enough to get a pool view family room, which was emaculate and was fully air conditioned without charge.
We also found the entertainment to be very good, with a variety of shows being put on which the animation team make you have a real good laff. Also we went on a day trip to Barcelona (around 57 euro to go the the Nou Camp, city tour, trip to Sagrada Familia, and the Barcelona Fountain show on the night- all i can say is what an amazing city and is a must do in our opinion), any way the hotel provide pick-nicks for you if you ask which turned out to be very handy. Also Portaventura if a MUST, although do not pay more than 40 euro as me and my girfriend got a 2 week pass for 40 euro each but some people we spoke to payed 80 euro each for 3 days!!!
There are always sun beds available next the pool through out the day, although the pool is freezing when you first get in you do get used to it.
On the downside to the holiday a couple of staff were quite rude, but most staff have a laff with you and are always there if you want something. Also after we had checked out my girlfriend realised that she had left her coat in the room, but when we asked at the recpetion they said nothing was left, and all the cleaners had gone home, in our opinion the cleaners had it for them selves.
Estival Park apeals to families, young singles and couples with everybody seeming to be happy. Me and my girlfriend are currently going through Post Holiday Blues, as we loved it so much!! We will definatly be going back and i would recommend Estival Park to any body.

Just returned from an all inclusive...

Sep 2008, Mr A Baker

Just returned from an all inclusive holiday at Estival Park with First choice holidays, found the food to be disgusting is the only way to describe it, ended up eating out a lot !.
Accomadation left a lot to be desired no water for 2 days toilet broken and a constant smell of sewage. On the up side Estival 2 had nightly entertainment which normally lasted an hour or so before the staff starting packing up the tables & chairs around you
found the staff at times to be rude & inconsiderate, all in all would not recommend Estival Park as it is could be a lot better.

We are a family of 4, with a 10 year...

We are a family of 4, with a 10 year old and a 13 yearold. We were up from 4'oclock in the morning and arrived at the hotel around 12.45 in the afternoon to be told that checking in was not untill 5'o clcck in the evening , needless to say there was no mention of this in the broucher or from the lady who droped us off at the hotel, not only were we exausted, we had not dressed for the heat we were experiencing. When asked when we would be able to have our room the girl at reception was extremely unpleasent and not one bit helpfull, when we were allowed into our room the door would not open and, a number of trips back to the unfriendly receptionest, it took untill 8'o clock, we could not leave the room, not wanting to leave any of our things in a room that would not lock.
I found the staff at this hotel very unpleasant boardering on nasty and rude, but the reps were very nice and helpful. The layout of the all enclusive was hard to get the hang off and with no one there to explain and the lady who done the snack bar just looked very unhappy all day and would have been quick to give off to both adults and children alike.
The hotel itself was very good, clean and spacious.
We had a great holidaythere were plenty of things to do all day and only a 5 min walk from the beach and the shops. I would recommend this hotel to families, my children had a ball, and when they are happy so am i, i could have stayed another week.

I had a lovely holiday at this...

Jul 2008, Mrs A Baker

I had a lovely holiday at this resort! The hotel & staff were great, hotel was very clean & the staff very friendly and helpful.
The food choice has a big selection in the dining room, the snack bar was great too....serving hotdogs, burgers, chips etc..
The pool was very clean. Walk to the beach was 2-3mins, where there were shops too.
If I was to suggest anything better..it would be the evening entertainment, it did'nt really start till 9.45-10pm, then was finished by 11! I would also say the all-inclusive bar ends 11.30pm....so make sure you get a couple in before that time, as when it shut, there was no getting another...even by a few minutes!
I had children in my party and they loved it too, the flight was short & transfer too!
I would come back again xx

Have just returned from a 7 night...

Have just returned from a 7 night stay at estival 2 with our two children aged 2 and 5. Really enjoyed it and would not hesitate going back - staff were very friendly and childrens entertainment is second to none which always helps!!! great variety of food from fresh seafood to the normal english diet of chips and burger (if thats your kind of thing!)
whole resort was very clean and we stayed in a 2 bed appartment which again was very clean but basic - thats not an issue as you only really sleep there anyway :-)
there is a new spa which has just opened - if you want to pamper your self! the beach and promenade is about 100metre walk from the hotel and is very clean but be warned we'd been there 5 minutes and had been offered a thai massage for 5 euros and my receeding hair to be braded!!! don't let that put you off though!
there is a water park just next door which is great if the kids are a little older.
all in all a very nice hotel and would have no problem recommending it especially if you are like us and worry about whether a hotel will cater for younger children!!!!
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE WHICH IS RARE NOWADAYS

Our second visit to this hotel and...
10 / 10
Jul 2008, Mrs J Stone

Our second visit to this hotel and once again full marks for friendly staff, clean hotel and great food.
We stayed all inclusive at Estival 2 hotel this time (where most Brits stay) and I can confirm that it was much noisier than Estival 3. If you would like a bit of quiet with the best pool on the complex I would recommend specifically requesting Estival 3, though be aware that the guests at this hotel are almost exclusively Russian. However, the snack bar for all inclusive guests is more extensive in Estival 2 (though as they are next to eachother you can use either).
The staff were equally friendly and helpful in both Estival 3 and 2 and contrary to some reports, we found the bar staff in Estival 1 friendly too (an improvement on our trip in Oct 07). Bar and restaurant staff went out of their way to try to chat to us and always made a huge fuss of my two baby daughters. In fact, the friendly staff was the one reason that we chose to revisit this hotel again.
We found that in Estival 2 several parties just left empty drinks/food cartons by the pool (something that did not appear to happen in the mainly Russian Estival 3), though the staff work tirelessly to keep the whole hotel looking spotless.
The evening entertainment was better than many 4* hotels we have stayed at, with three different acts performing every night. As an aside, I would recommend catching 'The Fourtops Ever' and 'Il Divo' - fantastic!
The beach is a short stroll away and whilst there is not a great deal to do outside the hotel there is a lovely promenade to stroll and the usual seaside shops and bars.
I would recommend this hotel. The accommodation and food is of an average to good 4* standard but the staff really make this hotel special. Having visited this hotel twice and stayed at two different locations I honestly cannot understand why it has some very negative reviews.

I have stayed at the estival Park...

I have stayed at the estival Park Apartments 2 years running and have found the Apartments to be extremely spacious & well equipped, with a fully fitted kitchen including washing machine and all the comforts of home. The bedrooms are large and the cupboard space excellent. The living area boasts a full size 6 seater dining table & also has a cupboard in the lounge were an ironing board can be located. The bathroom is not huge, but perfectly adequate for 2 weeks holiday. The compex itself is excellent and very much geared towards family's with children of all ages. The pool areas are clean & the staff cannot do enough for you. The only drawback is the wait for the apartment, but once ou have had some lunch at any of the the cafes located very close to the complex the apartments are ready for you. The Supermarket/Delicassen is well stocked & the Delicassens has home made delights available on a daily basis & opens until late.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel/apartment complex to anyone.

Just returned from our 7 day exchange...
9 / 10
Jun 2008, Mrs M Slabber

1 reader found this review helpful

Just returned from our 7 day exchange at EstivalPark. We stayed in a 2bedr. aptm. -just my husband and myself - and enjoyed every moment of it. The appartm. was very well equipt, serviced every day as well as clean towels every day,72 cm TV screen, washingmachine, very comfortable matresses, save in main bedr.cupboard.We were on the ground floor which made it even more convenient. We had a rented car so we paid for inside, covered parking, expensive but no parking or safety worries.I think in high season parking must be an enormous problem, because even in May there just never seemed to be available parking.
On the negative side: Some of the towels definitely needs to be replaced as some had some stains on -one don't need that at a 4star facility(I just left them on the bathroom floor and they were replaced the next day,so the cleaning lady got the message). Then keeping in mind that it is a family holiday resort,so this is not really on the negative side, it was just a little disturbing for us:the noise from the Estival Hotels just in front of the apprtms. Some nights it went on untill 1:00 in the night/morning hours, and because we had good warm weather we could not close the windows.Suppose one just have to except that and turn a deaf ear.
The staff at reception were very kind, helpfull and available when we needed information and had no problem about speaking English.
The Supermercat on the beachfront surely were very convenient. We had dinner at a few of the restaurants on the beachfront; not gastronomica but never the less nice food.
Tarragona is a fantastic city and we enjoyed many of the attractions.Went to Barcelona
one day by car, parked the car in a public undergroung Parking and took the Hopp-on Hopp-off tourist bus. Fantastic way of seeing Barcelona if you have limited time available. Also went to Montserrat on our own by car via the autoroute but came back via the country roads - a wonderfull experience.
I would certainly recomment this resort/hotel/apptms. to families with children. Did not have enough time to make use of all the fasilities, like the Spa, so can't comment on that.

FANTASTIC HOLIDAY - DO NOT BE PUT OFF...
10 / 10
Jun 2008, Mrs J Stone

FANTASTIC HOLIDAY - DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY MIXED REVIEWS! We are going back in a few days to this hotel because it offered everything you could want for a family holiday. The staff were absolutely marvelous with us - waiting staff always made a fuss of my two young children and I honestly never saw one without a simle on their face. In fact, one of the main reasons for going back is the wonderful, friendly staff (and we never tip either).
It looks like the majority of negative reviews stayed on a half-board basis in 'Estival 1' (the oldest of the three hotels). Having visited this hotel one evening I can vouch that the staff did not seem as relaxed and quite as friendly as the other two hotels.
We stayed in Estival 3 (we specifically requested this as it is the newest one and has the nicest pool). Estival 3 mainly caters for Russian visitors, but in fact we liked this as it appeared quieter than Estival 2 and everyone was friendly (a smile transends all language barriers).
The food in Estival 3 and 2 was fantastic. Always a wide variety of international dishes with many items that we had not tried before (honestly, who wants to eat English food when they go on holiday?)
Overall, 10/10. A perfect family holiday if you remember that it is an international hotel and not Butlins!
