Garajau Terrace Hotel

who ever books a holiday at garajau terrace must be mad dont go there we went in may arrived at about 7 30pm on saturday evening only to get to the appartment and the reception was closed no one any where there was a note on the door for someone esle with a phone number so we phoned it only to be told by a lady named barbara it was her weekend off and ther was a key under the door mat let yourselves in a get the key from the desk and use that room and she would see us monday when she was back at work so we did even though the name on the note was not ours. when we got into the room there was a smell in there like rotten fish and the carpet was rotten and the curtains looked like someone had wiped there greasy hands on them ,not a good start to a holiday when you was told you was going to a 4* appartment and out on the balconey it was running a live with ants that was it. could not do any think that evening so we went to get something to eat and the owner of the restarant told us this all way happened and did we want him to phone her but we explained we had got in, then when we when back there was 2 other couples there with the same problem this woman did come down about 11pm that night and sent the other 2 couples to a different place we tried to book another hotel though r c i but could not do anything until the monday but it was that bad we found another hotel on the sunday which then cost uc another £520 but the hotel the madeira regency hotel was lovely clean and the staff was really nice and very helpful and we ended up having a lovely holiday but still i can get a reply from the people who we booked though about our complaint and its nearly 8 weeks dont any go here unless you want a holiday from hell
