Vista Playa Oro Hotel

We were at the Vista Playa de Oro with a large group from a radio station. We had such a great time. Staff were extremely friendly, always making sure we had a good time. Bathrooms all over the resort were spotless. The only downside was we tried about 5 times to get change from the front desk so we could give waiters a tip. They could never give us change. I would not hesitate to return to this beautiful resort.

There really isnt much you can say apart from go there, I love it, I have been to this hotel twice now, and everytime I go to Mexico I will stay there, I also stayed in the Qualton Club before I stayed at the Vista Club, and I can honestly say that the Vista Club wins hands down. Go There Go there Go there, you really dont know what your missing.

My family and I had 14 nights at the hotel ages 16,boy 13,8 & 6 girlsThe kids club and staff looked after the 3 girls wonderfully which gave my wife & myself plenty of time to sit back and relax. the staff were extremly friendly and helpful all most spoke english. The reseraunt manager even went to the trouble of making my grandson a birhday cake ,decorating our table and even lowered the lights and paraded it out for him making his 4th birthday one we will never forget . We had a wonderful time in great hotel and would love to go back somday it was a holiday of a lifetime thanks to the staff the hotel location and the people we met there, and Freddie the best tour guide anywere in the world.

Hi I went to Puerto Vallarta in 1997 and again in 2003. I have just booked to go again winter of 2004. It a very beautiful area. I really enjoy the resort I stay at. It is Vista Playa de Oro. It is an all inclusive. It is not real large the staff is aways very helpful and it was so relaxing. The marina is next to the hotel and you can watch the cruise ships coming in and also it puts you close to the area if you take any water trips. My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Playa De Oro and had a wonderful holiday. The room was exactly as we expected and had a wonderful view of both the pool area and the beach. The food was good and lots to choose from and the service was awesome -- everyone was very friendly. It was Mexican holiday while we were there so I would say the only complaint we had was the "adult" pool was full of children the whole time even though the sign says, "No children under the age of 12 allowed". Although every body at this hotel was very kind and ready to help, this is the only positive thing it had to offer. The swimming pool is too small and thus was very crowded. The quality of the drinks at the bar is very poor, although the food is fine. The worst thing is the noise. They keep the loud music until 3 am and you hear it in your room as if you had a speaker at the side of your bed. Me and my friend went for two weeks, so this is going to be a long review. We got to the hotel and were given a room, we were expecting to be called frequently for business and such. When we noticed the phone in our room didnt work it was more then a nightmare. We went to the front desk girls and were told day in and day out that it would be fixed later, or tommorow. Finally there was an english speaking woman who told us the walls had to be knocked out and we had to switch rooms, she switched us to one with a better view, so that was nice.... more

I thought this hotel was above average in general. The girls at the information desk are very helpful and speak English very well and they tell you the fun places to go in town besides the obvious places like Hard Rock and Senor Frogs. The maids clean the room every day and do a excellant job and they bring you fresh towels in the morning when they clean and again at night. The food was fair to me but I'm a very picky eater. The hotel is very deceiving from the web site pictures we viewed. It's much smaller than what we expected. The food was ok. The buffet has the same food daily and there is really no variety, however the Japanese and ala carte resturants were very good. The snack bar was pretty good too. Only one bar was open during our stay and the information we were given showed 3 bars on the property. Be expected to tip daily even though the all inclusive package shows tips are included.
