Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Hotel

Stayed at Plaza Pelicanos in March and I am planning to go back in July (I can't go any sooner -- otherwise I'd be back already). The hotel was beautiful, very clean, and the staff was great. The animation team made my vacation complete and I would go back again just to see them! Although the Pelicanos was hit very hard by the hurricane, the amount of reconstruction is amazing and you would never know the damage that had occured. We had the most amazing week ever! 3 of us girls went for spring break march 14-21 ... had the best time! Plaza Pelicanos was awesome, 4 great pools, always activities going on, very clean, the staff was extremely hospitable, the food was good... there really wasn't any beach at this point after the hurricane from last fall, however awesome beaches are not far away, make sure you take a snorkeling trip to Las Animas beach, very beautiful, however take dramamine before the boat ride... the waters can be a little shaky. Plaza Pelicanos is a great value if you are looking for a cheap getaway. We stayed there the week of March 8-15 and had a wonderful time. I love PV! Would like to rent a casita next time and probably stay out of town at Yelapa. If you've never been there, you gotta go. But if you've never been to PV, this is a good, clean, safe environment to stay in so you get the lay of the land for your next trip. We stayed here March 7-14th. We were very pleased with the hotel. Couldn't find anything to complain about. Food, room, pools, staff, cleanliness of entire resort, amenities offered were all very good. The resort did receive extensive damage but the workers are constantly repairing and or replacing inside and out. A 3+ star rating seems low for this hotel. Excellent and friendly staff! Loved the hotel and the surroundings...cozy and relaxing...I felt like I was in Mexico as opposed to just any big hotel in North America.

My 2 roomates and i just got back from spring break at Pelicanos. It was perfect! There was an awesome staff, beautiful pools, gorgeous grounds, all-you-can-drink and eat until 11:00p.m., and of course perfect tanning weather! The beach, however, was not very pretty...lots of rocks (b/c of hurricane last Oct.) Other than that, it was a great trip. My husband and I are planning our 5th visit to PV. Each time we go we stay at this hotel. We find it very relaxing, and the staff very friendly. This will be the first time going with it being an 'all inclusive', so this will be interesting.

Just got back from a week long stay--it was wonderful! The hurricane damage was still visible, but there were workers non-stop re-building. The transformation in the week we were there was impressive. I would love to go back to see the finished project. The food was good, not a lot of "Mexican" dishes however. Arrived here Dec 13 2002 at lunch time. Check in was fast and relatively smooth. Went to have lunch only to find a long line up. When we managed to get inside the restaurant and obtain food there was nowhere to sit and eat it as all the tables were full. After lunch we toured the grounds. The Hurricane in October had devastated the beach. The running track was being replaced. One of the pools was being repaired and was not operational.
