My husband and I, with some of our friends stayed at this hotel for the second time and could not have been more happy. The service is so friendly and the staff are really very helpful. The hotel really does deliver exactly what it promises. It is elegant, but not over the... more

Comfy Bed, but bring earplugs
A big hit for this hotel was the king size bed with oversize pillows. It was clean, and very comfortable. The room we had was a bit small (probably because we had the huge bed - worth it), but you're not in Playa to stay in your room..so that was not that big of a deal. Another bit hit for this hotel is the location. It's very close to 5th avenue - an easy walk to great shopping, nightlife, and restaurants. It's also an easy walk to the beach - about 4 or 5 short blocks the way we went. There might have been a faster way and we just didn't know it - but it was fun walking amongst the shops and restaurants. We spent most beach days at Mamitas Beach Club. It was only $3/person to have an umbrella and lounge chair right on the beach for all day. I'd recommend going there - beautiful beaches and good swimming. One more bit hit was the bathroom - the decor was very nice and we loved the overhead rain shower after a day at the beach. Be sure to bring your own water to brush your teeth. We did not have any provided for us. There was a convenience store just a block away, where we bought a gallon jug, which was good for 3 days. The only strike against this hotel - which you WANT to know - is the construction going on right next door. If you don't get up with the dawn like the construction workers do, I'd advise you invest in a good pair of earplugs designed to keep out sound. We got no sleep the first night. Also, the street traffic was a bit loud. With earplugs bought for only $3 in a drugstore, we slept very soundly. In defense of the hotel, most other hotels also have construction going on around them as well, so it's hard to avoid. The locals told us this was due to fixing and rebuilding after Hurricane Wilma.
great intimate experience at hacienda paradise
This was a great stay, the hotel is located in the north part of town, 1block away from 5fth avenue cafes, and restaurants, great cheap pizza joints... it was just wonderful. Everything was very neat and clean, cozy rooms, well equipped and very comfy beads with plenty of pillows.... very nice. The hotel is very small and intimate, the good thing is the people at the front desk know you, and recommend you the good stuff locals do, restaurants, places to see, etc. Thanks for everything, will stay there for sure in the future. Very happy.
Dream come true wedding...
My husband Andrew and I got married in Playa del Carmen August 2/08, accompanied by 16 guests. Words can't express how happy we are after such a perfect wedding!!. Everything including the ceremony, catering, entertainment and transportation, was organized either by phone or by email and from the moment myself and our guests arrived at Hacienda Paradise, I knew it was going to be perfect! The hotel was gorgeous, clean and modern. The front desk staff were friendly and informative to all of our party and they even gave us a cocktail party in the garden on our first evening! During our stay, the 9 rooms we reserved were kept impeccably clean, the concierge staff were a great help organizing day trips and it was especially nice to walk out from our rooms in the morning to the restaurant bar and have breakfast with our family and guests before deciding what activities to do that day. In all it was a wonderful intimate experience, one I will cherish forever. I highly recommend this hotel, and plan to come back!!
Empty nester paradise!!
Well the last of the kids have officially moved out and we needed a long awaited vacation. We were looking for something relaxing and tame but also with things to keep us occupied. We were not disappointed to say the least! The hotel was new and very clean, staff were friendly with good english, food was good, rooms very spacious and comfortable and just relaxing poolside was like being in our own well maintained back yard. The local night life around the corner on the 5th Ave was just what we needed to unwind at night. We also enjoyed the shopping, the clean beaches and the spa treatments that the concierge recommended. We feel 10 years younger having visited this place! George Bodson
Hacienda Paradise was a great relaxing stay
My wife and I spent 2 very relaxing weeks at Hacienda Paradise. It's quite a nice boutique hotel and was a welcome change from the big chain type hotels. We especially liked the fact that opening your back door (from ground level) was just like walking into your own private backyard with swimming pool, restaurant, bar and anything else you could need, without the overcrowding and noise usually found when staying at a big hotel! The staff were friendly and the rates very reasonable. This just might become our yearly get-away spot! Wanted to mention that the area in general is just awesome too, because your very close to nice shopping areas, walking areas, the beach plus you can easily get to see things like cenotes, ecological parks with lots of things to see, snorkeling, mayan ruins and lots of other cool interesting things that the Mayan Riviera has to offer. All in all, we'd definitely go back! David & Julie Rossi
Give them a chance
This was a nice hotel just off of the pedestrian corrider in Playa del Carmen. Initially, we were disappointed because we were expecting a 4-star hotel. Compared to 4-star in the U.S. it did not meet our expectations. BUT... after we got settled in and met some of the staff we definitely changed our minds and enjoyed our stay. It all depends on your expectations. If you are looking for the atmosphere of the all-inclusive Cancun resorts, you won't find it here. It is close to the pedestrian corrider (5th Avenue) where much of the shopping and tourist restaurants are. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach, if you are looking for spending time on the beach. If you are looking for a nice, quiet place to stay that is centrally located and has courteous and helpful staff, you should give them a chance. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Lovely Hotel
I really recomend this property, it´s amazing and so lovely, my husband and I stay here for part of our honeymoon, the staff were so kind with us, Julia at front desk is very nice girl. The hotel keep clean all the time, there are no bugs at room either the entire hotel. The beds are so comfortable that I want to be lie down all the day lol. When you stay in Playa del carmen you need to stay here, don´t miss the oportunity, the 5th avenue is just one block from the hotel and the amazing blue sea it´s 2 blocks.
Lovely Hotel-a Real Bargain
Just got back from a one week stay at the Hacienda Paradise. It was my first time there. I have stayed at several Boutique Hotels in Playa and I like to compare, and this one was really worth It, a real deal. The Hotel lobby and rooms were nicely decorated, comfy bed, nice bathroom, balcony and quiet for sleeping. The pool was a nice size, and 2 free computers in the lobby to check your e-mails. The staff was really great, nice and always helpful. It was a real deal for the $$. I have stayed at much more expensive hotels with a lot less to offer. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this hotel. Monica Chicago
Yikes!!!! 3-inch Cockroaches!!!!
Oh my gosh, my entire experience lasted 20 minutes. The property is precious. Very good value, contemporary, and I thought appeared to be the perfect boutique hotel.....until my 7 year old daughter and I got in the shower within 5 minutes of entering the room, and a 3 inch water bug crawled out of the drain and up my leg!!!!!!! We jumped out, and while my husband took it to the front desk, 2 more crawled out. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I know these are common creatures in Mexico, but I frequent Playa every 3 months and have stayed at over 20 different properties and have never had an experience quite like this. Does not sound like anyone else ever has, so were it not for what happened to me, I would absolutely try it out again, but I have had nightmares now for 2 weeks....and showering in Mexico will never be the same!!!!! I actually got home last night and am afriad to go in my own shower now! If bugs do not frighten you like they do me, then definitely go for this hotel. It really is cute and a great deal!
Reasonable hotel
Reasonable hotel, not cheap, but clean and nicely furnished with pool, free use of internet (2pc's) in lobby , located on a main road, would recommend rooms that don't face this part of the complex, 10 minute walk to the beach, located in a quite part of PLC, although as mention avoid rooms on main road, overall enjoyed stay , top end of our budget, found staff to be friendly and helpful,
