Deseo Hotel

Lovely, chic, serene atmosphere. We loved our room, loved the lounge, and loved he guys at the front desk, who were extraordinarily nice, helpful, and gave us awesome recommendations for restaurants and everything else we needed. The only problem was the noise. Between the super loud beats coming from the lounge directly below our room (which you can't escape, as all 15 rooms overlook the lounge) and the mariachi bands on the street on the other side, there was no escape until way late into the night. The Hotel was appropriately named "DESEO" (meaning Desire in Spanish)! After spending an entire day, we had the "DESIRE" to stay much longer than originally planned. The staff was friendly and accomodating; the cocktails strong and delicious! The pool was inviting, and the room was, well.... it was "DESIRE" at the highest level! I stayed here during the spring break season and it was such a relief to be here and away from Cancun. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful with the check in and didn't hide the fact that the hotel was a popular nighttime destination for the beach town. You can't beat the central location, the pool is very cool and it is convenient if you don't want to go far because the ambience comes to you. The Deseo Hotel has some major problems with privacy & noise. The rooms face the lounge area - we experienced that people from the lounge were actually trying to get into the rooms when it started raining! The lounge is loud until 1.00 am, at 7.00 am the cleaning woman is making such a noise that you can not sleep anymore - what an awful treat at a holiday spot! I went there last year with my boyfriend. Thanks God that we only stayed there for one day becouse the noise was terrible. There is a bar infront of the rooms where people have fun all night. they say that the party finish at 2h but, don't belive it! It's not true! Just one detail: they provide you stopper wax. If I were you I would choose another hotel! Just go there to take a drink it's wonderfulll.

Great place to stay if you like to be "in the heart of the action". Excellent restaurants, clubs/bars, shopping, and beaches all within a 5 minute walk. The hotel itself was excellent; great service, very comfortable beds (which is difficult to find in this area), very clean, fun lounge and pool area. Noise was not an issue for us but we stayed in room 8 which is the farthest from the street which was much noisier than the lounge. Will return without question.

This hotel is beautiful and great fun, very trendy. BUT I'm so glad we stayed across the street at Mosquito Blue. Deseo's central courtyard--which all the rooms seem to be on--becomes very noisy until the wee hours of the morning each night. We had a great time enjoying drinks and the fabulous crowd each night and then leaving to get a proper night's rest.

Deseo is a very slick hotel, however, not very functional. It is a place to see and be seen. The pool, the jacuzzi and the lounge are all located on one open small deck. Therefore, if you wish to take a dip or use the jacuzzi at night, be prepared to walk through all the lounge crowd, which doesn't disperse until 1-2am in the morning, which means, if you stay in the rooms facing the lounge, the loud music doesn't stop until 1-2am in the morning. My new wife and I spent a week here in mid July and from what we saw walking around Playa, it is the best, nicest hotel in Playa. It's right on Avienida 5 so it is noisy at night. We were in room 7 which is right above a restaurant, across from another restaurant, across from another restaurant. The lounge area is nowhere near as noisy as the street noise. This was the third hotel I have stayed at in PDC, and Hotel Deseo is by far the best hotel anywhere. Andres and Alex went out of their way to assist every need. The other staff is very quiet but is there to please. Seemed to take numerous naps. The infinity pool was awesome. I loved the lounge area. Had a few drinks in the evening but felt the crowd all knew each other so I left and took my drink to the room. You can still be a part of the party, but be in your own VIP lounge without the crowd and can still enjoy the great music. Loved... more
