Vilar do Golf Hotel

Once we arrived me and my family were quite impressed. Nice located and whole property nice arranged. Dining in the near surroundings is also excellent but very expensive. I rather recommend to drive to Quarteira to have a good dinner or lunch and saving quite a bit on it too. For the transportation we asked the reception and they showed us their car hire partner prices. Expensive, really. wasn't sure what to expect following mixed reviews on this site. But both my wife and thought this holiday was fantastic.We went the 1st week in july through a Sunterra promotions holiday. We have just come back from Vilar do Golf as part of Sunterras free holiday. We went to a presentation last year with the enticement of a free weeks accomodation, we just had to pay for flights. We were in a marketing villa, we had asked for a members villa as we understood these to be nicer but none must have been available. We stayed at Vilar do Golf for a week, commencing Sat 13th October 2006. Loved it so much we have booked to go again in October 2007 and February 2008. For golfers, this is paradise. Easy access to so many courses on the Algarve, and our villa was nestled in the golf course, so we could watch golfers on the hill, and occaionally at the bottom of the hill looking for the ball in the rough! Location quiet, in the Quinta Do Lago area,car required. Nearest town is Almancil , about 5k away. Anything from 6 to 15 euro's in a taxi, beware!! If booked from the resort they will by default book the dearest. Almancil 8 mins by car; Quarteria 15mins ; and Villamoura 25 mins Good for Golfers with the PGA course as part of the complex On site restaurant is the Bobby Jones Bar anfd Grill. First impressions of the resort and Quinta do Logo were excellent, nicer than the other Portugese towns we had visited previously. Check-in was smooth and efficient, they were very helpful. The Apartment was a good base for the week the furnishings and location in the complex let it down, about a five minute walk to the Leisure Complex and Reception. What's with the pay electric, you found yourself cutting back because you had no idea what the cost was going to be. The place was cold so no choice but to clock in electric. The cold air was blown all over the place, the bathroom was cold and damp, no air so condensation. The gym and pool so far from room so drove down there to find sauna always closde and no attendant . Debdie the activity guide was brillant, lovely, pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. They gave me a discount because i complained about the cold.

We 4 adults just returned from this resort where we spent the week. The first impression was "great" as we drove onto the grounds. However we came to the conclusion that If the managemennt would spend as much detail on the rooms as they did on the landscaping this would be a first rate resort. We stayed in a 2 bed family unit with 2 adults and 2 children. Unit was clean although a little shabby. Kitchen well equiped with dishwasher, microwave, washerdryer etc although a little small. The living room was spacious but seating very uncomfortable, the sofabed was uncomfortable to sit on let alone sleep on, thankfully as there was only 4 of us in our party there was no need to use it for sleeping. My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Vilar Do Golf. It was a "FREE " holiday with Sunterra. You pay for flights, transfers and electricity as well as your own food. The one bedroom apartment we were allowcated was very clean and contained a dishwasher, fridge, all the kitchen utencils you could ever need and was fitted with airconditioning/heater units.
