Las Brisas Huatulco Hotel

This is not a place for anyone with knee or leg problems. Too many steps. The food and the communication was not good. This is definately not a 5* motel.

For those travellers who read the other report that gave it a 5 don't be fooled. We travel each year with middle aged couples to warm destinations staying in 3 1/2 to 5 star resorts and Las Brisa is the most over rated resort we have ever visited.Truly a dismal lobby and main building need a major cleaning. The food is below average quality and the menu does lack variety.The rooms are adequate but the white unfinshed primer rooms lack warmth no color at all unless you bring your own pictures.The entertainment is a joke the 4 piece band... more

Just got back from las brisas and it was not what we were expecting. I agree with the fact that the weather and scenery are very nice. The service in the restaurant (buffet) was not great and the food was ok but not something i would want to eat all the time . The stairs are a real problem for the elderly and the physically impared.Do not go if you have any problems with alot of stairs. We just returned from a week at Las Brisas on the all-inclusive package offered through Sunwing Vacations. It was our best vacation ever and our favourite of the five all-inclusive resorts (4 and 4 1/2 star) that we have been to in Cuba, Costa Rica, and now Mexico. Agree with most of the recent reviews. Great setting - spectacular sunrises,acres of beautiful grounds and 4 private beaches with clear warm water, cloudless skies and no beach vendors. Food and bar drinks limited but passable. Only 1 a la carte retaurant open all week. Frequent shuttle buses but still endless steps. Not suitable for those not physically able or strollers. Not for party animals-very quit (a bonus for me). Strongly suggest beach club suites with the best view and balcony. These suites are large modern and well equipped.... more

I just returned from a one week stay at las brisas huatulco from jan 1, 2005 to jan 8, 2005 all inclusive. I thought it was awesome! First off the grounds are huge. Huge grounds means more room and less crowding, which worked out great for me. It is because the grounds are so big that it does take a few minutes longer to get drinks because the servers must walk all the way back to the bars, a fair trade off for having so much space. We were at Las Brisas over the Christmas/New Year's period 2004. We had a very good time. We were on an all inclusive plan with Sunwing. Accommodation - We stayed in the Mars section and had adjoining rooms. They were large, clean and spacious especially the shower stall. Everyday our minibar was stocked and each one of us daily had complimentary beer, water and soft drinks. The Las Brisas Hotel in Huatulco is a property that was built in 1988 by Club Med who sold it after 9/11. Las Brisas has put alot of work into this hotel and continues to do so. It does need work on certain areas such as the buffet restaurant and the lobby area as they are very plain looking areas kind of reminiscent of a cafeteria but the management assured us upgrades will take place very shortly. Our family just returned from Las Brisas on Jan 8 05. Traveling with 3 kids and 2 adults. Let me first start by saying not one of us got sick. We ate almost all our meals at the hotel.Breakfast at this place was good. Lunch by the beach got better every day and dinner the same. There are two al acart restarants. The location, Huatulco is absolutely gorgeous. The resort needs some improvement, the food is somewhat repetitive, but can ususally find something good, the daiquiris are good and the beer is cold. This resort has just gone all inclusive so they are not all together organized, I found the staff for the most part friendly and courteous, Erika the Conceirge is very fluent and helpful.
