Love of the Locals
from A TripAdvisor Member
Staying at the Qualton Club felt like a true experience of Mexico. The staff was very kind and willing to help us with our Spanish. The food was mediocre, but our room was always very clean and beautifully decorated with flowers. There was security around the clock and we always felt safe while being there. This is a place that can be what you make of it! After dancing in the club and talking Spanish with the employees, we felt as though we left a family at the Qualton!
Had fun
from crazycanadian
We stayed here March 13-20/05 and had a great time. the grounds are nice well kept, lots to do. Food was good, you can take out the kayakes, boogie board bikes etc. Everynite from 9-10 they have shows, disco, good staff. We went over to Ixtapa Island, beautiful ate at Antonios 2 x good beer and shrimp. I have been to Ixtapa the last 3 years and this was our first time staying on Playa Linda, a little ruffer of a beach. Went into Zihu and Ixtapa for food and shopping. All is good at this hotel for what you pay.
Qualton-Nice place to relax
from we_are_maxi
MAR-6 to-MAR-14>My girlfriend and I went for 7 days, we used funjet's services. We had few problens with the resort, the rooms were clean, the grounds were kept up. The rooms are a bit small, but we didn't spend much time in them anyway. The food was not great but good, you are not getting a 5 star resort, but you are not paying for one either. If you are looking to party or stay up all night drinking, this is not your place, if you want a quiet place to relax on the beach or with friends or family this is a good cheap place...

Never stay here<not safe
from A TripAdvisor Member
I am a Delta Airlines employee and **this is by far the scariest and worst possible vacation I have ever had.** I have been going to Ixtapa since 1996 and feel it is important for as many people to read this and pass on this information. We brought friends with us to celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary. This was our first time at the Qualton club and I was embarrassed by the resort. Rating this a one star is being kind. Mold and rotten wood in bathroom and all through a/c. No towels, no remote, no toilet paper, safety lock on door...

Family Vacation
from cyaos
We went there as a family of six adults from January 2, 2005 to January 9, 2005. We had a great time. The staff is pleasant and hardworking -- the maids left gorgeous decorations on our bed every afternoon, the entertainment staff tries its hardest with often uncooperative guests and the wait staff and bartenders were friendly and helpful. I liked that it wasn't a multi-storied hotel and that you could walk right out your front door and into the warm humid air. I will take that over a big monsterous hotel with long hallways anyday!<br...

family vacation

For the last three years our family of 12 have spent a week at the Qualton in Ixtapa. We all enjoyed ourselves, yes, this will soon be replaced by some company wishing to get as much money as possible by stacking people up in twenty stories. It will be a shame to see it go because the groungs are beautiful, it is getting run down but has always been clean, my husband and I have been going there since 1992 and have always recomended it to our friends. Some people want marble floors and marble fountains in their hotel, not us we go for...

Pass on this one ....

Have travelled to Mexico many times, but never had such a bad experience. Not horrible, but not very worthwhile. Not quite bad enough to move out, but almost. Poor selection and food hardly edible, especially when they fogged the dining area for mosquitos right before dinner each night. Rooms cramped. Nothing much to do for entertainment. The beach guys were very good at helping with paddle boats, sailboats, etc., however. A lot of locals seem to holiday here, especially on weekends. It appears that they get day passes to use...

Great Hotel for Cheaper Vacation
from kt15jo
My boyfriend and I went to the Qualton in March 2004, we weren't dissappointed. We were worried that Apple Vacations only gave this hotel a rating of 3 but I think it's just because it's older and further away from the downtown area. The rooms are small and need some updates, like better locks on the front and patio doors and the buttons on the TV were removed, but the rooms were cozy and the air conditioning worked great. There is no clock so remember to bring a watch. The pools were nice, we only went in the adult only pool with the...

Wonderful Staff
from A TripAdvisor Member
I just returned from Mexico, staying at the Qualton Club in Ixtapa for 10 nights. The grounds are lovely, the staff is exceptional, food just passable, maids decorate your bed with flowers every day. However, don't ever think it is 2 miles from Ixtapa Centro. It is so far, $5 by taxi, $.60 by bus. But too far to ever think of walking. The beach at Playa Linda is disgusting. Oil spills and the sand is flat. Really bad. If you take the boat to Ixtapa Island to go to the beach, make sure you tell them the beach side, not the side for...

Don't try this One!
from VictoriaMpls_MN
What a disappointing stay at the Qualton Club. The resort is old and run down, clean but zero ammenities. No clock, no hair dryer, no coffee pot. Had to beg everyday for fresh towels, which still were not in our room by 5PM although room was cleaned in the AM. Staff was ruid, did not speak English and 99% of the quests were Mexican's on Easter break. Our 10 year old son had no one to talk to or play with because of the language barrier. The food was lousy and no restraunts, but promoted with two restraunts, kid's club, whirlpool and so much...
