Fontan Ixtapa Hotel

OK, so the Fontan isn't the 'best' hotel on the strip but the people in the hotel are amazing! The animation team is the greatest ~ the guys are hot and the girls are so friendly. They all go out of the way to make your stay enjoyable. We were there for Xmas and they didn't charge us extra for the Xmas dinner since we were all inclusive. Try to get a room in the yellow tower since another building is going up next door and it blocks the view from the pink/blue tower somewhat (depends on the room, of course).

My family and I stayed at the Fontan hotel for four days and all I can say is that we loved it, nobody (whole family) wanted to leave. If we get a Chance to go back, we will stay there again. It's like you can go anywhere from there without a chance of getting lost. Everything is accessible from there. I would and did recomend it to friends and relatives. I went to the Fontan last week, I really like the Hotel, clean refurbished rooms, everything works fine, the staff try to be nice with us, my three girls had a great time in the clean swimming pool, I agee a little with the food, the fish is not a quality one, the drinks are really bad, no snack bar, etc. The beach is beautiful as the hotel ubication is. No night entretainment. I will recomended but not for long stay.

We booked the Fontan on a whim and were quite worried when I saw all the negative reviews. We were very pleased with our experience. The room was very clean, the staff very friendly and the beach beautiful. We had a room in the yellow tower with a balcony facing the beach and the north side of the bay and went to sleep every night to the sound of the waves. The Fontan was a excellent place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff were always cleaning around the pool and hotel. The maids left little surprizes made out of the towels and face clothes. We would not hesitate to go back there again and again.

Had a great time and this hotel exceeded my expectations. Beach was beautiful! Everything was very clean, service was really good, the food was very decent, and everyone was so nice. The animators did a great job of keeping everyone entertained and participating in the daily activities. The weather was excellent! For a 3 star place, it was really good, I would definately go back.

Just returned from sunny Ixtapa where again the weather was fantastic, 34 and sunny; a nice break from the snow and ice. My wife and I had been to Ixtapa before but had not stayed at the Fontan. We knew the location was great and the beach was fabulous, but we were a little leary of going 3 star. To our surprise it was great. I had a wonderful time at the Fontan the end of January 04. Most of the hotels on the beach didn't seem to have any activities for their guests while we had a special fiesta night and another night our dinner was served on the beach along with dancing if you wanted to. Also there was several other activities planned water aerobics etc.. The rooms were very clean and things were quiet after 10PM. I would recommend the Fontan to anyone looking for excitement along with their vacation.

Had a great room great maid service.Good food need repair on exterior and needs more chairs.Only complaint is the arogant french Canadians and over run with arogant rude Mexican Families

I have stayed in all manner of hotels throughout Mexico, no star to 5 star. I have never bothered to write a bad or good review, but I have to this time. The Fontan takes the cake for the cheapest, most ill equipped, least attentive to customers and all around inconsiderate hotel. We booked all inclusive for the two weeks over Xmas and New Years 2003/4.
