Best vacation ever
My wife and I stayed here from feb 24 to mar11 2007. Very quite, no noise at the pool , just a bunch of older folk enjoying the sun. Our room was a promo studio on 3rd floor, 2 bathrooms king bed, living room, kitchen equipped and 4 times as much closets as we needed. The only problem with room was no view, no balcony and we could here the staff making noise every morning at 6. But the food made up for it . All meals were taken at the Castilla across the street, and there was entertainment everynight. I must remark on the food as I am a... more
old, dirty, bad service, felt unsafe
We had booked our trip with signature vacations 6 weeks in advance. The Travel agent in Calgary said it was a 3 1/2 - 4 star resort. When we got to the hotel they had no record of our reservations. After 2 1/2 hours of waiting for them to find something for us they finally gave us a room. They told us we could put our luggage in storage until a room was ready so that we could at least walk around. The Bell man inadvertantly took one of our bags and tagged it with another families luggage. When I told him that that suitcase was not... more

well 4 of us booked from england together 2 months in advance but we were on 2 different floors. we checked in together my friends were shown to there room and had someone take there bags while we were just left standing in reception to find our own way round. when we came back to reception to meet our friends we found them with customer service being told about the hotel and the tours and they were even offered free ones but we again were ignored!! our friends got a room with a room safe we did not food was ok drinks were ok rooms were... more
Not bad except for the roaches...
We arrived on January 26 and stayed for 1 week. Check in was very quick at the Granada. Our room on first inspection was clean & sufficient. The balcony view overlooks the tennis courts & the entrance to the golf course & the other view upon entering our room overlooked the pool & restaurant. All the pools are heated in the complex. You can order food at the Granada restaurant from 7-3pm & drinks from 10-5 pm.We found the beach buffet to have pretty good food, but the ala cartes had the best & you have unlimited use on the all inclusive plan.... more

we stayed at the granada dec.23-30- 06.It was our first all inclusive vacation so wasn't sure what to expect.I can tell you we have traveled to florida 2 x,las vegas, hawaii, arizona, banff and various other places. We LOVED MAZATLAN!!The people are SO friendly and go out of there way to serve you! They are the by far the best! This alone makes the trip worthwhile! The granada is next to the other el cid hotels so we used all their facilities which were much nicer. This was included in the all inclusive. We ate and drank and felt like princesses the... more
Awesome!!!!
My boyfriend and I went to the El Cid Granada in Mazatlan from March 20th to April 4th, 2006. The hotel itself wasn't the greatest, but the city made up for it. The hotel was part of the El Cid complex and had we stayed in one of the larger hotels we would have been better off. Our room had a horrible sewage smell, but for the amount of time we spent there, it wasn't a big deal. The only other thing we didn't like was that the only bar near the pool closed at 2:00 in the afternoon. So you had to walk across the street and get 3 or 4 drinks... more
Very friendly,outstanding value.
This property has recently aquired a new General Manager who is making a huge difference to the overall aspect of the hotel. Upgrading has been, and iscontinuing tobedone. The all inclusive feature offers outstanding value, wonderful food in nice surroundings. All in all a most enjoyable experience! Lisle & Jay Smith.
greatvacation, great weather

Good but not really Good
My husband & I stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights, room was ok we've got the suite but don't be surprise, whatever you see on the website that how the room looks. If you'll be staying at this hotel make sure to request room that's not near the fountain because even the door is shut or TV is on it's hard to sleep. Beach is just across the street. When we check in the front desk lady & I can't understand each other. I was asking her how much she authorized my credit card (if you weant to use the safety box in the room there's acharge... more
