Royal Villas Resort Hotel

We recently stayed at the Royal Villas Resort. This a very nice hotel with suites that are either oceanview or oceanfront. We had an oceanview room which was very nice. The view was great. The only down fall with this hotel was the amount of noise we had to deal with. The bar across the street GusGus feels every one in Mazatlan wants to hear their band play all night (2-3 a.m.). Very impressive hotel. Even though they mixed up our reservation on our room, they made it right and actually gave us a room that exceeded our expectations. We upgraded to a one bedroom delux with the ocean front (not just oceanview) and from the 9th floor the view was breathtakingly beautiful. Huge balcony- just spectacular. I have returned to Royal Villas four times in the last 3 years. The entire staff is so courteous and kind. I do feel like a member of the family (a princess, of course). The place is under a massive remodel now so there are fewer apartments available, but it is still my favorite place to go. It is in the center of things so your budget is not all spent on pulmonias or taxies. It is beach front and just plain wonderful.

We have been going to Royal Villas since 1997 and have enjoyed the hospitality every year since. The suites are spacious and clean. Have had some minor maintenance problems that were promply solved. Dining room has great food and service. Would recommend this resort to all.

My sons and I stayed at Royal Villas over spring break. When we checked into our suite they had given us a different one than I had paid for so I contacted the front dest and they gave me a choice of a couple different suites, none of these were what I had paid for or agreed on at the time of payment. We were in Mazatlan last week. We disliked our hotel dining room, so we tried others. We found the main dining room at the Royal Villas to be so pleasant we returned several times. The Shrimp Almondine was fantastic as was the fresh fruit served in a pineapple. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. We wondered why we were the only ones in the restaurant each time!

have been going to Royal Villas for almost 2 years. The management is constantly upgrading and renovating the establishment. The facilities are great, the location is fabulous. Kept very clean Most of all, the attitude of all the staff and employess is fantastic. I truthfully feel I am being treated more like a friend than a paying customer, and they all go out of their way to satisfy you. I am very very pleased and can't wait to get back there again.

After reading about the good reports on Trip Advisor we decided to go to the Royal Villas. Hotel is very clean and well located and the food at the pool is great. However we did have a few problems. The outlet in the kitchen gave electrical shocks, room wasn't cleaned until after four and the whirlpool was so hot it could not be used. The worst was the last night finding a huge live bug in our bed. Would we go there again? No. There are alot of very nice hotels in the area so next year we will try one of them..

We have stayed at this hotel twice. once in 2001 and now again in 2004. The staff was great, and NOT pushy. If you just say you are not interested, they leave you alone. we had excellent service, the phones DO use phone cards in the lobby, two are for certain cards from the hotel and one is for all calling cards which are purchased at all stores for the same price as at the desk at Royal Villas. I have been to the Royal Villas Mazatlan three times. The last time I went, I used my Penthouse Certificate and I loved it so much, I bought it... the Penthouse timeshare, that is. I can tell you, there is nothing like that Penthouse....five views with balconies, full kitchen...full bar. It sleeps 10 comfortably. The master bedroom has a loft where you can injoy the view of the ocean or close the shudders for some cool privacy.
