Presidente Intercontinental Hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Presidente for our anniversary from 8/30/03 - 9/8/03. Since this is the slow season they upgraded our room to a beach front ground-floor level with a patio, for free. The beach (and the magnificent reef) was only 100 feet from our door! They also gave us a $100 credit towards the bar/restaurant. I thought this was excellent. Allthough we were thoroughly impressed with the hotel, location, accomodations, and the very friendly and helpful staff, we were somewhat turned off by the beds and room service situations.... more

Just got back a few days ago. Me, my wife, and my 2 and 4 year old girls. We stayed 5 nights, which ended up being the prefect duration.Here are my recommendations:1) RENT A CAR. The money lost on rental is more than made up for by the convenience of having a car. $48 a day at the Executive Rental desk in the airport (insurance included)- we showed up without a reservation and it was no problem.2) NO NEED TO PACK ANY SNACKS. My wife and I decided to try out Cozumel in April because we were told that the drift diving was excellent, the water clear, and the atmosphere relaxing. We arrived at the Presidente direct from the airport prior to noon April 17th, 2003, the service to the hotel was quick and efficient, and upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted and escorted to the front desk where they were preparing the necessary paperwork to get us into our room.The rooms were spacious for us; they were clean and very comfortable, we had air conditioning and plenty of... more

Stayed at Presidente July 15-22d... Yes, it is a bit pricey but we fully agreed it is worth it.. Only two minor gripes (see later), but the beach, snorkeling, diving, staff, food, service and location are second to none. Food was good, but definitely worth the short taxi ride to town, it saves a few bucks and it adds to the experience to try the restaurants in town. We travel often to the islands and Mexico and my wife and I think The Presidente is just about as good as it gets . The beach is wonderfull with very calm water and the service is the best . You will be very satisfied if you stay here. We wanted to visit the Presidente again for a few years now and it met or high expectations again. You can snorkle right of the beach so no need for extra trips

The Presidente Inter-Continental in Cozumel was worth every extra penny we paid! What it has: Long, beautiful, groomed white sand beaches, easy and lush snorkeling and beach diving literally footsteps from the beach, impecable service, large rooms, and delicious foods. The presidente IS the best resort in cozumel. The villas on the water are romantic, spacious, private, and clean. We enjoyed having breakfast on our private patio 20 yards from their own little beach. The pool, workout room, onsite shops and resturants and the activities galore will bring us back this August. We were thinking about going somewhere else but why? Room rates for the villas are about 255 a nbight its worth it though.

We just returned from a 5-day stay at the Presidente and had a great time. The location is fantastic as you are not in the midst of everything (cruise ship traffic, city and airport) but a cab ride into town is only $5. The staff was extremely courteous and the room was very spacious.The stay was very enjoyable as this resort is focused on a more relaxing experience. Beginning June 19th, we recently spent 5 nights at the Presidente Inter-Continental. by far, the best feature of this hotel is the pool and waterfront area. The pool is immaculate, fabulous drinks and great food are efficiently served as you lounge in the sun or under the little thatched umbrellas. We've stayed at the Presidente five times over the past five years. We've also stayed (seven years ago) at the Plaza Las Glorias, when it was still relatively well managed, and tried one of the all-inclusive places, too. Then we found El Presidente. Wow. From the time you clear through the guard house into the impeccably manicured grounds, this resort is impressive.
