Cozumel & Resort Hotel

Our stay at Hotel Brisas was ok. Rooms were small, but clean which is all that matters. Fresh bottled water was left everyday. The pools were nice, but noticed that some of the small tile was broken and a little dirty, but didn't keep us from enjoying the pool. The drinks were plentiful, strong but tasty. Food was edible. We did the all-inclusive so we wouldn't have to go into town for all our meals. Stayed here over July 4, 03. Staff were professional, quick, and courteous. Rooms were average size with cold A/C. Rooms cleaned every day. Great pool! Food was very good and buffet at all three meals was large, plus they would take special ala carte orders! Get the all inclusive. Drinks all covered! Beach was on small side but great area for snorkeling and scuba. Close to the moderm mall and downtown square. Rent a jeep and see the island. Would definitely stay here again!

Brisas was very lovely - much more than I expected! Friendly staff, very convenient to town, great restaurant/bar area down by the beach. Beds were a little hard, but they put those eggcrate type foam pads on them so it helps. Our second time in Cozumel and first time at Brisas - would definitely stay there again!

My husband and I just got back from Cozumel. We stayed at Brisas for 7 nights and had a GREAT time. The hotel is very nice and the food was great too. We witnesses one old lady complaining about something - but that lady was just rude and mean and complained about everything - it was fun to watch her though. I have to admit that I was getting a little worried about staying at the Brisas in Cozumel. Just got back and would definitely stay there again. The rooms and maid service were great, no smells and they even spray for bugs on a regular basis (tho, I never saw any in the room or had any problem with bugs on the back deck facing the spectular pool). The pool is surrounded in several places by a 3" or so drop for just sitting in, etc. Several suntanned while lying in the water. Going to Cozumel for my spring break was the best!! The workers were great, especially the entertainment manager, LUIS!! I miss all of them so much, it was weird how me and my three friends that went got SO attached to everyone! The entertainment was great and the nightlife was a blast! My wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Brisas. Cozumel and the hotel are both outstanding. Like other reveiwer have noted, the beds are hard. Since it was just the two of us, we stacked the unused mattress on our bed which made everything better. The rooms were nice and the maid staff was constantly cleaning the hallways and proviced fresh linens when they cleaned our room. We had heard bad things about the Las Brisas Hotel from aquiantances. They advised me of several bad things about the hotel. I have done quite a bit of traveling myself and took this as a good opportunity to judge this property from my own experiences. The staff was friendly and helpful to an extent. Very nice hotel. The grounds are kept clean and mauicured. Awsome pool area. The rooms are nice, clean. The beds were a little hard. The food is good but, not enough. I, like many others, were a little worried about the mixed reviews of this Hotel...all for no reason at all! Nearly everyone who stayed at the Hotel Brisas had read these reviews and we all talked about the potentially smelly showers and the hard beds. I won't go as far as to say that they are Urban Legends, but no one I spoke to was unhappy with the bed or experienced foul odors coming from the showers....perhaps time of year, hotel occupancy, or the floor you are on has something to do with it?At any rate, we had a blast! We've stayed at what's now called the Brizas two years in a row now, on a trip with our local dive shop. After the first year, we swore we wouldn't stay there again, because the food was poor - although I must admit that being a vegetarian in Mexico is never an easy thing! We found that the service was poor in the restaurants - we'd be up early to go diving and you'd always have to wait for the omlette guy to come out - he really took his time!
