Coral Princess Resort Hotel

Fantastic trip, weather was great 1/24-2/14/04. A few rain showers but nothing terrible. Our first week was at the Coral Princess on the north end. Nice place, however the hotel has been updated but not the timeshare area! We moved to the hotel side with ocean view for $15 extra a night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The timeshare side is very dated. The next two weeks were at La Ceiba. Great spot and has been updated. The diving was great, went with Aqua Safari. They were all teriific! We stayed at the Coral Princess 2/13-2/16. We were very pleased with the 1 bedroom suite. It was very spacious and clean with a full kitchen and a very nice balcony with the ocean view. We stayed at the El Cozumeleno for the first part of our trip and prefer that resort to the CP. We spent most of the day touring the island in our rented jeep so we did not get a true feeling for the hotel. Just got back from 4nights at the CP,had a good time despite bad weather. The hotel is spotlessly clean,the staff is friendly and helpful.We had a jungle view for 2 nites and a water view for 2 nites,both were good. The water view room had a refrigerator which was a big plus. There is no beach ,but there are stairs for entering the water,and a big drop off that is just fine for snorkeling. We stayed at this hotel for two nights (we planned it this way) and thought that it was a slightly above average but an excellent value. It was fairly close to town ($4 cab ride). The best part about it was the snorkeling right there. All along the rocks on the North side of Cozumel have a good variety of fish and coral. Please note that a weak swimmer or an inexperience snorkeler should be cautious because it is well over 20 feet deep and the current pulls you to the right (but not out to sea). Extremely clean rooms & premises, great staff, nice views from room, and incredible snorkeling just feet from shore. We will definitely return.

Feb, 15, 2004 We just returned from a great week at the coral Princess Hotel. I have to agree with the majority of people that this was a nice place to vacation at. However, with the exception of breakfast, the food was just average. The one thing that bothered us was the fact that Pedro the bellman along with another hotel employee Sabb-Hoe also doubled as time share/vacation club employees. Everything went right at the Coral Princess in Cozumel. The staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities excellent, the restaurant cheap and good, and the snorkeling wonderful. The one thing we worried about before we left was access to the water. Could we get in and out easily. The answer was a resounding "YES". The beach sloped down to a wide, tilted ladder, bolted to the wall. We just got back two days ago from Cozumel and the Coral Princess. We found it to be clean and the staff to be very, very friendly and helpful. Pedro, Jaime, and Sapo were especially helpful to us. Also, my husband wanted to get started with SCUBA, and the PEPE dive shop there with Maria...he really had a great time with his first SCUBA experience. Meals were good, but the only formal dining area is small, and one night was especially noisy. Also, they could do with some real chairs in that restaurant, not plastic ones. I was there at the same time last year and experoenced the same things...the noise and bugs. But they don't have contral over nature and may of needed to get work done. As far as the whole discount thing goes, you may have made the mistake of not showing your dicount pass before you signed the meal ticket to be charged to the room. It's not a discount off the total at the end. I absolutely LOVE this place. You are always treated so good and are totally taken care of there. I would reccomend it to anone who is going to Coz.

My first time to Cozumel could not of been made any better than by staying at the Coral Princess. At first I was greeted by the best concierge staff ever...Pedro, Jaime, Sapo, and Omar. get to know thgese guys, they will hook you up with anything you want or want to do.
