Charming, peaceful, Villa Vera, Sebastian
from FamilyFunTravels
We LOVED Acapulco. Even though June and July are part of the rainy season, it only seems to rain at night in Acapulco (During the day, the difference in temperature from the land to the sea pushes the rain out to sea and it only comes to the coast when the land cools down at night, or something like that!). The daily temp. was about 85 with a constant cooler breeze coming off the ocean. The only tine the heat bothered us was when we walked along the traffic-busy main strip in Acapulco and the high-rise buildings blocked the breeze. June has...

Too much red tape & timeshare
from Bowgreave
Villa Vera has an impressive past but the present needs attention. The room and gardens were genuinely superb. The management have some petty ideas and irritating habits of trying to get you to 'tour the resort' - read timeshare touting. They charged US $10 because we put our own cold drinks in their minibar but could not supply a fridge for the suite. They ban your drinks from your private pool area so you will buy theirs. Sorry, we paid a fair bit to stay there and I would have booked the timeshare package if I wanted all that....

Never Again
from TravellerMFT
Villa Vera seemed nice at first glance, but after a week it was apparent there were many problems. As RCI members, my wife and I were given the smallest room on the property (#307), with noisy guests above us. When we asked to be moved, the staff informed us of ongoing construction, preventing a room reassignment—we soon discovered that to be a lie. There was no shuttle service to the beach—it was either a taxi or a long walk down a narrow sidewalk beset by holes, unevenness, and smelly. Although the service was friendly, it appeared...

Wonderful
from SoakitUp
I had the great opportunity to stay at Hotel Villa Vera for a long weekend in April. Everything was really amazing. The hotel was just off the main strip along the beach. There is delicious restaurants all around, including a small place named Restaurante Flor a block down the hill. This is a great place if you want a truly home-cooked meal for next to nothing. Also a five minute walk down the hill and across the street (next to the ice cream shop) is a path that takes you down to a beautiful sandy beach. It was not crowded at all and a...

Relaxed at the Villas
from mmahoney
Villa Vera was very charming. It was a very quiet time at the resort (September) and we had most of the pools to ourselves. I think the best kept secret about this resort is that it has two actual villas. Casa Teddy and Casa Julio each have two wonderful bedrooms, 2 baths +jacuzzis, private outdoor living space (living rooms + kitchens) and their own private pools. This is where my friends and I stayed. It was our own private paradise. I've posted pictures to share, since I haven't seen anyone else talking about them. Apparently, Julio...

Liked Villa Vera
from Bilyana
Villa Vera is located on a hill and the 10 minutes walk from the main street wasn't a big deal for us, although in the extreme humidity and high heat it could be a challenge for someone. We stayed in a regular hotel room (they also have bigger separate units). The original room they gave us was for smokers and smelled very bad. But we asked to be moved and the front desk gave us a nice non smoker room. The room was quite large with high ceilings and marble tile floor (which was a bit dangerous for a toddler but looked good to us,...

need to be upgraded in some areas
from beatriz22
We ve stayed here on / off for years..but we ve now decided not to untill management improves. Positives first, security at the main gate, bellman, most waiters, bartenders all still very nice. There appear to be some new people at reception, who are not as welcoming and friendly as those of before. My sister and I were there on a fmaily week time share , plus a few extra nights added to be paid extra on our own. What we didnt like upon check in was the girl at reception swiping our credit card, which we thought was as...

Can't wait to go back to Villa Vera
from wildindigo
Just returned from a long weekend w/ friends at the Villa Vera. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the grounds are very well maintained, and the staff was very attentive! We had a 2 bedroom villa w/ our own private pool - the rooms were lovely and the views were spectacular. Everything was very clean. We spent a lot of time at the main pool which has a swim up bar and they will bring snacks to you. Love the resort, love Acapulco, and I can't wait to go back!!
Villa Vera is a WONDERFUL!
from Kat5409
I went to Villa Vera with 3 girlfriends to celebrate my upcoming wedding. We spent a long weekend in Acapulco at Villa Vera. We are all very seasoned travelers especially in Mexico. Acapulco is a well kept secret now. It was a hot spot and is now the jewel of the country. I have been to all of the resort towns in Mexico and can say Acapulco is my favorite. I traded my timeshare in Cabo with Club Regina for the Villa Vera which is also a part of Club Regina. Cabo is an ok place. I find it nice but not necessary. Cabo is more like LA...

beautiful grounds and great staff
from RFH
This resout is very charming and full of history. We had a very average room with no view but there were villas that were beautiful and we would love to stay in one of these. The staff were friendly and most spoke good english. The spa is very nice and has great treatments. One of the best aspects is its remote location up a hill overlooking Acapulco Bay. This takes you away from the beach, which is very commercial. Great resturants in Acapulco. Bakail, Kookaburra, La Mansion, Su Casa are all great and in order of prefrence. GO...
