We had a room on the 15th Floor of this hotel, and the views of Acapulco bay were spectacular. It was a good size room and clean and tidy. It is in a good location just off the beach with plenty of bars, restaurants, shops etc close by. Only faults with the hotel is that... more

Best in Acapulco
I just returned from the Copacabana in Aca. in Feb. All of these reviews are total lies! It is one of the most beautiful properties I have stayed at... comparable to Four Seasons Maui and the Ritz Carlton Cancun, both of which I have stayed at. The rooms were decorated in a lovely Mexican style, with very private balconies. The pool area was wonderful. Pool attendants spritzed you with Evian water. Room service was excellent. Very classy jazz club in the evening. Best hotel mattress I ever slept on! The only thing I disliked was having to leave. Ask for Ricardo, the front desk manager, for complimetary drink coupons. People should think twice before booking hotels after reading these comments! I was leary, but it totally surpassed my expectations.
Too late in the season
We spent April 17-24 at the Copa. We were very disappointed. The pool was too packed, due to Mexican Hotel conventions. The music at the pool was incredibly loud, so loud it made it hard to visit with the person next to you. We were not All-Inclusive, but people that were AI, stated that the food was terrible. Thank goodness we met some very cool people that made our trip tolerable! We couldnt find anything to do in Acapulco during the nights. We went everywhere, the bars were empty. You had to wait until 1AM, to hit some very cool discos. I guess I am at an age(39) where I would rather party from 7pm-2am, rather than 2am-7am. I guess we just went too late in the tourist season.
AMAZING!!
Well, I thought it was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!! I loved every minute of it. I went there for my senior spring break in 2004 and I loved it. There were 19 of us total. The food is EXCELLENT!! The entire hotel staff was the nicest people I've ever encountered at a hotel. Everyone is so kind. Everything was just perfect. I loved it and would go back in a heart beat! Felix!!
Stealers
Don't EVER GO there!!! It was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. The web site lies about how many pools and restraunts are there. There is no pool bar, actaully there is only one bar available for the all-inclusive plan. Imagine that one bar and thousands of people, the line goes around the pool for one drink. Our room was broken into and things were stolen, very expensive digital camera. The managment was very rude and un-copperative. They tried to blame us for breaking our door when someone who we did not know in the middle of the night broke it, they tried to charge us $200 for something we did not do. The beach was awful, hard to walk on, no peace from people selling things. The food was awful, no variety. Even the way you checked in was a terrible system. I would not go back if you paid me and I am a 22 year old college student with not a lot of money but thats how bad it was.
Nightmare at the Copacabana
We went to the Copacabana to enjoy a family vacation at an all-inclusive hotel. My first impression was that it was a fun hotel with a lot of action. The hotel's service, food and cleanliness were very good to start with and frankly, above our expectations. Once we got settled we went for a swim and enjoyed the hotel and the Acapulco sun. The first night after going to bed I had to call security a few times because of drunken people screaming in the Jacuzzi area at 3am as well as drunks coming off the elevator and yelling in the hallways. The floors are open to each other so every time a group comes out of the elevator at night yelling it can be hear on a number of floors. Security worked quickly and the problems were taken care of. Although noisy, we thought we could put up with it because of the positive things about the hotel. Unfortunately for us the hotel was over run on our second day with Spring break party animals from Michigan State University. I thought I woke up to an episode of 'girls gone wild' and 'Animal House' all in one. After a couple of days of this it made stay at the Copa impossible and we had to move to another hotel. This was unfortunate because to start with the food, service and entertainment were good enough that we could put up with some noise to enjoy the good things about the hotel. But once the hotel filled with the spring breakers it was impossible. The small pool was completely full with people drinking and smoking, there were no chairs available and the games of volleyball and water polo my family was enjoying became lap dancing contests and drinking out of a funnel. The bars had line-ups all day and the elevators could not handle the traffic as we had to use the stairs or take an elevator up, in order to go down. The food quality dropped quickly as the capacity went up. The buffets were attacked and dinning room was full or drunks. The other major concern I had was security. The room doors are hollow core with push button doorknob locks without dead bolts. This type of lock would normally be used for a bathroom in a home. With all the drunks roaming the halls throughout the night I really did not feel safe even with the extra security the hotel provided. You could easily gain entry into a room with a little muscle and turning the doorknob. I would have like to have given this hotel a higher mark because the people work very hard there. Management helped me find more suitable accommodation and they were taking action in evicting some of the real troublemakers but it was an impossible task. The noise will always be a problem at this hotel no matter what time of year you visit. With the small pool and evaluators, this hotel really can't provide adequate service with any more than about half capacity. The Copacabana is party central that is for sure and it is definitely not suitable for families. If you like to sleep between midnight and 6 am I would look for another hotel. One the other hand if you like to drink your face off and party all night this is the place for you.
Best Time Of my Life
I had the best time of my life in Mexico at the Copacabana. I learned so much and had so much fun! The workers there were so friendly, expecially the Entertainment Team! I love you Emilio and Axil! I can't wait to go back and visit, as soon as I find the money thats where im headin back too!
awesome- best vacation
I loved my trip and I can honestly say that if you want to have a great time go to the Copacabana hotel, it is so happening, so many people during christmas, well i went directly after new years eve. It is very well situated so great great time.
Great
I went to the Copa during spring break in 2003. It was a great place if you want to party! People came from other hotels to the Copa just to party. If you want to relax don't come to the copa.
The Copa, copacabana....
I liked the Copa when I went. It was down town and at the end of August so not too much was going on when me and a friend went. The drinks were good and the bar was small but it delivered and did the trick. We went with the all inclusive but there you really dont have to unless you plan on drinking a lot. There are so many places around and cheap to eat at. The room was clean and big enough and we had a great view to the ocean. The view is very pretty at night with all the lights on the hills and the reflection off the water. We stuck around the hotel mostly didn't do to much we were there for a little R & R. There was no entertainment at night in the lobby bar but you could sit there and get sloshed. Our air worked good. Food was good, I thought anyway. Not bad for the price. We paid a total of 320 for 4 nights, no air included. So for 2 people it wasnt that bad. I was coming from St. Louis so I had a 3 connections to make and bla bla bla Overall, I liked it and would go back during down time. Don't care for the Spring break thing no more. I would recommend anyone to go down to El Central and look around and get some real good Mexican food there. You can get a huge plate of food for 2 people for 5 dollars!!! The one thing I do want to mention is the beach! OMG! You could not relax on the beach for nothing they had people coming up and bothering you all the time to buy this or that, you couldn't even get a wink of sleep there. They were rude and would wake you up to try to push something off on you, and if you buy one thing then here they all come!!! So, if your plans are to lay on the beach and catch some rays, think again. Me and my friend counted in one hour 18 venders, I am not lying. So have fun on the beach. If you want to lay out do it up in the resort or you will be haggled to death.
Party Central for Spring Breakers!!
This hotel is awesome for young people wanting to party and stay central in Acapulco!! It is not a posh 5-star with world-renowned chefs but the food is decent, alcohol flows all day and it has a gorgeous lobby and pool! Rooms are clean (been there 4 times and never a problem) and staff is friendly (doesn't hurt to tip - they get friendlier)! It is near the main strip in Acapulco and within walking distance to most clubs, restaurants and the huge Walmart!! If you are in Acapulco for Spring Break and want to party and stay close to the action, this is the only place to be - have fun!!
