Avalon Excalibur Hotel

The hotel is at the end of the strip of hotels. Its in walking distance to many shops. The food for the all inclusive program is very limited and is served several times during the week. French fries, sandwiches are not on the all inclusive program. All inclusive is buffet only. Drinks for the all inclusive program is from 10:30 am until 10:30 pm. We stayed at the Avalon Excalibur from Feb. 20-25, 2005. Our stay exceeded our expectations(maybe because of the other reviews we read). The entrance, lobby area, restaurants, and pool area were well kept and very appealing as you entered. The elevators were always readily available and very fast. The rooms were very open and sizeable. You could tell some fixtures in the bathroom were old, but they were well maintained and clean. We never booked at a hotel online it was our first time! We had to get the mountain view (witch i tought wasn't a good idea) but it was great u could see the houses that were located n the mountains and acapulco's park it has a great view! and the service is good!!

The horror of the Avalon Excalibur has been fairly well covered in previous reviews.....based on my stay there(managed 3 of the originally planned 9 days before finding another hotel) I can only wholeheartedly agree with the negative reviews of this "hotel",its staff and amenities. I cannot imagine what the previous hotel experiences of people posting positive reviews of this hotel must be. Avoid this dump at all costs!!!!

We just returned from the Avalon Excalibur in Acapulco and it was great! The rooms are clean, the staff is good and they are friendly. Our family had a wonderful time which by the way included two adults and two children aged 13 and 10. The kids only complained once about the food ( 1 day) and my kids are picky eaters. My spouse and I have travelled much more and found the "buffet" (when you are all inclusive that is all you get) a limited in choices however, you are getting real mexican food you are not getting Canadian/American food so if... more

Not what supose to be. All inclusive is a disaster. Not only you will get no service, you will see the diference of it. The so called mountain side view is that half the hotel faces the road. If you don't want to sleep it is the right place to be. No theme nights. Entertainment is Karaoke. There are two flood controls one in each side of the Hotel. If it rains the water front will be dirty for a while. This hotel is being sold as time sharing. So the best rooms are gone or will be gone. Stay away

After traveling quite often, maybe i've taken for granted the quality of hotels that I've visited... okay after going to the Avalon.. I've definately taken for granted the quality of hotels I've visited. This was simply the worst stay that I've ever had. 1. Checking in.. A nightmare.. Mass confusion.. people checking in / checking out at the same time.. Too few people helping at the reception desks.. Many people fighting over their bills. I loved the mexican culture. It may take you awhile to adjust to being the only American staying at the Avalon in Acapulco. Overall, rooms were very clean. Look for Fernando(Bellman) superior gentleman! Elevators are Horrible! Did not enjoy being stuck!

This was my second time to stay at this Hotel. It is very pretty, clean, nice beach, and the food is even good, but we still went out to eat. The staff at the bars were very nice and the entertainment team there makes you feel as if you have been freinds forever. Thanks Miguel! Also dont forget to look for Lydia on the beach. We went to Acapulco for a weeding. The hotel Lobby was very nice and clean with a beautiful view. People were very nice and helpful. All the elevators were working. We had a room with ocean view that was just awsome. The bathrooms need a little updating but were nice and clean. The location of this hotel is excellent!! close to everything. We do recomend this place. My sister stayed at El Presidente and that placed is old and ugly. Some other family stayed at Fiesta Inn and they liked it a lot.
