The accommodation consists of two buildings: the modern-style main building houses most of the reception rooms and bedrooms, with a second building across a small quiet road, also accessible by a covered walkway. loading...

Hipocampo Palace Hotel Reviews

After much researching we opted for the Hippocampo Palace in Cala Millor, Majorca for our week long holiday. The hotel did not disappoint and from the moment we walked through the large, beautiful lobby we knew we'd chosen wisely.
The room was lovely, spacious and clean (we did upgrade to a suite though which wasn't that much more expensive). The hotel itself was spotless, the pool area big and luxurious feeling with a gorgeous size pool and a great poolside restaurant area.
The food in the hotel was outstanding. The buffet breakfast was huge and very varied, very fresh food. We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was buffet but again, it was outstanding.
The service was excellent, very helpful, friendly staff and overall a fantastic hotel. The lovely big beach and the main town is a 5 minute walk away so although you are not directly on the beach you are not far from anything at all.
It is very worthy of its 5 star rating.
Any downsides? Not really. We would say that the hotel's clientele was 80% German, but that didn't really bother us as it might some others, as long as you're happy to keep yourselves to yourselves (due to obvious language barrier) then it's fine, and in a way, those Germans have high standards, so if you want the best for your money, you know you're okay when you're staying in a place which is so dominated by them!
Cala Millor as a resort is much like other 'holiday' resorts, lots of good facilities for tourists, but again, we found in the town that A LOT of the bars and restaurants were geared towards our German friends, again though, not really a problem for us. There is something for everyone if you look around.
Overall, would highly recommend Hippocampo Palace, infact we may very well go back one day...

The Hotel is 5 star "non fussy". The service is unobtrusive but there when you want it. The food - buffet breakfast and dinner - offers 20 or 30 selections of starters and deserts with the mains being cooked to order. Take your pick from Dover sole to ostrich - with most varieties in between. Outdoor pool has masses of space. Indoor has great natural lighting.
Whilst not on the sea front - this was, to us, an advantage. Much more spacious and quieter.
Suites appear identical - we have now stayed there three times - and spotless BUT the ground and first floor can face the road and be a touch noisy. If you can aim for the top floor.
Looking forward to going back - soon!

This wonderful hotel, set at the quieter end of Calla Millor, has been a joy to stay in. If you are looking for quality then look no further. Pictures in brochures and on their own web site do not do it justice.
We stayed in a suite. which had everything you needed. They are spacious and the specification was to a high standard. The cleanliness of the whole hotel was 100%.
The restaurant was fabulous and at dinner, most of it cooked before your eyes. There was so much choice at both mealtimes that you could have something different every day. One suggestion, if you wanted to eat on the terrace you have to request it via the matre de. We had to wait a day but it was well worth it.
The pool and pool bar were excellent. The water just the right temperature and we never struggled to get sunbeds with an umbrella at any time during the day. Pool towels provided, free of charge.
There is limited entertainment at night but there were a good selection of bars quite close if you need a walk. Very few Brits here, mostly European, but all very friendly.
All in all excellent standards, would definitely recommend and return

This hotel is amazing! It has everything you could want from a 5*accommodation in Majorca. I was actually surprised how close it was to the beach and all amenities as I had thought from descriptions that it would be quite out on its own, however it isn’t. It still benefits from a peaceful location but in a 2 - 5 minute walk you are right on the beach and in the midst of things.
Food in the hotel is really out of this world and everyday there was something different – I’ve honestly never seen as much food or choice of foods. We stayed on a half board basis and you could eat so much at breakfast and dinner we never needed to buy lunch.
Pool area is beautiful, we were there at the end of June/ July and the water was perfect, nice enough to cool you down but no freezing shock when you first get in. every night the pool is thoroughly cleaned and all the beds etc cleaned down. The terraces are very spacious and there is room to move around where ever you like, pool bar area served everything in a very relaxed environment - this hotel is like being in another world In fact the pool area is so nice you may never get to the beach! A good tip If you’re trying to save on luggage - don’t take beach towels as you can get as many as you like from reception and they give clean ones everyday if you require them. Don’t take them home though even though they are lovely as if they haven’t been given back on your last day they charge 20euros per towel.
Rooms are really good, we had standard rooms but they were fully equipped with everything, bathroom top to toe marble and double sinks, there are magnifying mirrors and hairdryers in here so no need to take your own. The toilet and the bidet are in a separate section and so is the shower and bath, they provide dressing gowns and slippers too. There is individually controlled air conditioning and my balcony was more like a roof top terrace - massive space and the hotel is only 3/4 floors high.
Cannot praise this hotel enough and coming from a travel agent that’s not bad, ill certainly be selling this one cause I know anyone will like it - you cant not like it! They would do anything to help you but everything is to hand cant think there is much you would need.
The resort is fantastic too, beaches are so clean, sea is beautiful and everything you need is at hand, I have only one fault with my whole holiday here and that is the unfortunate memory of watching England get knocked out of the world cup to Portugal on penalties oh and having to come home of course! Don’t worry about going to this hotel you’ll love it!

The Hipocampo Park hotel is one of the poshest hotels in Cala Millor. It’s 300 metres from the beach, behind Hotel Borneo (however there are no ‘real’ roads between the hotel and the beach).
<br><br>
The grounds are extensive and the pool is such that you won’t go to the beach. Kids are well catered for and my daughter made plenty of friends even though English speakers were in the minority.
<br><br>
Marble floors and bathrooms. 20-channel telly of which 3-4 channels in English. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant good.
<br><br>
Bad points: rooms were advertised as having a 'modem'. This meant that you could plug your laptop into your room’s phone socket if you had a modem. No LAN, no WiFi.
<br><br>
The drinks were a bit slow in arriving around the pool and at the evening entertainment.
<br><br>
The gym had plenty of machines and free weights but a crappy treadmill and no rower.
<br><br>
Overall verdict: I’d go again.

I stayed at the Hipocampo Park for a long weekend in May. The main purpose of the holiday was to have a few games of golf during the day and have access to a bit of nightlife during the evening.
<br>
The Hipocampo Park is split in to 2 different buildings. The main building appears to house the standard rooms. The annexe building accommodation is made up of 1 bedroom suites. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The room was very spacious and luxuriously furnished. There were 2 patio doors/windows leading out on to the balcony. 1 set in the bedroom and another in the lounge area. Bathroom is also pretty spectacular and large.
<br>
The food at the hotel was faultless. Huge buffets fresh freshly prepare food was laid out Breakfast and Dinner time. Friday nights the hotel holds a Gala Dinner with champagne and canapés on arrival. Yum.
<br>
Facilities at the Hipocampo were excellent. There was a large Gym was on site along with a Turkish Steam room and a large sauna. The indoor pool claims to be heated, which is true although I still found it to be quite chilly. The outdoor pool is located next to the annexe building and is NOT heated. It was too cold to swim in, in May.
<br>
The Hipocampo is located in a quieter area of Cala Millor. Nightlife can be found be walking towards Cala Bona (10 Minutes). There you will find an all sorted array of Bars and Shops.
<br>
There are 5 golf courses located within about 25km of the hotel. 1 of them being a 9 hole course. I personally recommend the Capdepera Golf course.
<br>
Overall a fantastic hotel that I would definitely return to. On a final note the Hipocampo Park is predominantly a German Hotel. But do not let this put you off. The Germans demand high standards hence I believe the food was above average for a 5 star Hotel.

The day before departere we got a message with cancelation of our travel! 5 hours after got we new message, sorry, it was a mistake.
TUI missing a paying system, so Thomas Cook tries theirs best, but in two weeks they cant be agree about payment.
In the airport TUI missed also a fly, so we have to fly nearly standing.
Hotel has a great lobby, and great suite, but stuff is without understanding English.
The biggest disapointment is the restaurant, small tables with very many people from some where else place. We had a halfboard, but because of a very-very long line to meat/fish, we choose to eat on another restaurant.
Hotel has not own resort place, if guests want to swim in a swimming pool, they have to go to another hotel over the road.
I was so sorry to be on this place.
