Relieved to reach the hotel to a very warm welcome from the reception staff following a very stroppy coach driver and lady at the airport who gives you a coach number then you spend half an hour walking round the coach park looking for the right coach! Hotel on arrival... more

As holidays go, this one was exactly what it claimed to be, a cheap holiday in the sun. We booked fairly last minute and most of the pictures that you see in the brochure are an accurate depiction of the hotel, however, the pool is not actually as big as it seems and there... more

**WARNING this hotel DOUBLE BOOKS ROOMS**
People need to be warned about this hotel ~ they have a policy of double booking and then ringing people within 24 hours of departure. This booking was made over a month ago ~ so no excuse for such short notice on the cancellation (which was made by the hotel themselves). Everything was in writing and confirmed, no reason to doubt the reservation was safe. THIS RESERVATION WAS FOR 14 nights ~ down to nothing! Anyone booking here should be very wary of the above information ~ I have also heard that people are sometimes told of double booking upon arrival too! You have beed warned.
perfect palmeras playa
Having booked an allocation on arrival holiday to Majorca, i was a bit anxious about where we would end up. However, walking through the entrance of palmeras playa i knew i had no need to worry. The hotel is amazing. It was immaculate with regular visits from maids, the staff were first class in dealing with any queries, the rooms were immaculate and well equiped and had all the facilities you could ask for. The pool area is spacious with plenty of sun loungers to go round and theres always some sort of entertainment on from crazy aerobics to water volleyball. The location is perfect also, its literally a stone throw away from the beach and always a variety of shops, restaurants and cafe bars. There is a spar right on your doorstep for all your essentials. I would definitely go back to palmeras playa and am already looking at my return trip.
Fantastic Hotel!
I am writing a review on this hotel as it was great! The rooms were extremley clean as they were cleaned once every day. The rooms were also air conditioned that was a bonus! The staff here were very kind and friendly. Especially in te kids club. There are lots of differant things to do for adults and children. The children do a performance one night for the adults. Near by the hotel there is a shop called "Spar" to get your bits and bobs. About 5 mins down the road is the lovely beach with the golden sand and the deep blue sea. The entertainment was great for children and adults every single night! It is a great and really lively place to stay. There are 7 floors here with a lift so its suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. There is a bar with a flat screen t.v to watch your footie. With the drinks at reasonable prices. The swimming pool is great with a little childrens pool and then the big pool. If you're looking for a good hotel then this is the one for you. I would give this hotel 10/10 and i would definatly go back there again.
Hmm.... it was fine.
Just a few days back from Sa Coma. I went with my boyfriend for a weeks break at the beginning of June. The weather was beautiful and the beach fantastic! First impressions of Palmeras Playa was 'wow'. The reception area was very clean and the receptionist very helpful. Our rooms were very clean but basic. Theres no hairdryers in the rooms (unlike hotels) and you are not going to have a view overlooking the beach - like the hotel next door (Blau Med). Pool area looked spacious but may well become very crowded in peak season. Get your loungers quickly! Palmeras Playa is literally a hop skip and jump from the beach, and there's plenty of loungers to grab ( 4 euro per person per day). Entertainment every night in the hotel! Sometimes quite good, sometimes a little less exciting. There is usually a 'club' on for the kids just before time for the evening meal. Magicians, singers, dancers, bingo, tribute bands etc are usually playing till 11pm - can't hear a thing if your are in your room through. The predominant language in Sa Coma seems to be German, not Spanish! Make sure you scrub up on both! The folks in the shops and food places are generally clued up on their languages. If you are looking for cheapish, clean and comfortable accomodation in Sa Coma , then im sure you will be satisfied with Palmeras Playa. Saying that, ignore the sign near the pool which points to toilets, sauna and indoor pool - i believe its either being refurbished or deliberatly not being maintained. Happy hols!
Great place to stay very clean and friendly
Me and my fiancee stoped here for a short break for only 4 days, while the kids were staying with grandparents. From the second we arrived to the second we left we were treated very well, the rooms were very clean and with a nice balcony view over the pool and the night time entertainment, which was at a low sound all night and day and almost impossible to hear with patio doors closed. This hotel is about 2 minute walk to the beach which is very clean and gets busy all day.We also recomend the Britania pub for entertainment and the food looks great too the staff are very friendly, watching the so called wanabe pop stars on the kareoke is worth a look.On our last day we decided to go all inclusive and the food was very nice with drinks all day and night till midnight although you can line them up before and sit all night untill you finished them. There was no noise after 11pm at night so you could just sit relax and chat. There was seven floors and three blocks and lifts too all floors. The sunbeds around the pool do get sunlight but some are shadded with the palm tree's. One thing i noticed is some people were leaving towels on some of the sunbeds but never to be seen for hours, the hotel forbids this so i recomend if none are empty then watch one with a towel and if you dont see anyone after 10 mins, move it to the next one along or place on the floor and confiscate it. On the leaving day you have to vacate your room by 12:00 but you can have your luggage put into a safe room untill your bus arrives, which we found usfull for last min shopping and pressies. We both loved this hotel and Sa Coma and will be back again with our kids although if you like water parks ect a car would be handy and you can also drive along the coast and enjoy all the other local towns,or you can book excursions to these other places. There is also water sports and glass bottom boats in Sa Coma too enjoy.Hope you enjoy your stay as we did. P.S Look out for the Hotel Manager you wont miss him as he looks like Manwell off Faulty Towers very polite and helpfull...
Brillient!!
Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Palmeras playa last year and had a fantastic time, the apartments are really clean and spacious. The hotel is two minutes walking distance to the sandy beach!! (Brill)!! There are loads of excursions that the hotel provides as well, would recomend that you go on these are they are really interesting! Overall i would say best for families and couples - really enjoyed it and would definately go back!!
good clean and friendly
My husband two children and I stayed here for two weeks in july. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a bonus that the receiptionists were very good at speaking english.Hotel entertainment was very good all day because they entertained the kids by day and adults by night. Sa Coma as a town was family friendly there was no pressure sales from the restraurants and bars. Overall it was a good holiday and would go back in the future......
Great hotel, well run
This is a great hotel which is well run by friendly courteous staff. The rooms are a decent size and nicely appointed and the air cond works well. All walls both inside and out appear freshly painted giving me the impression that they either take very good care of the hotel or that its not that old. The pool was large and warm and i guess the only complaint as can be expected from any of these resorts is the need to grab a sun lounge early. That said, we spent most of our time outside our hotel so it didn't bother us too much. We went self catering so can't make any comments about the food and drink although there were times when we thought we should have done so as we did spend lots of money outside the hotel. You can book fully inclusive on arrival for 28 euro I think it was. Sa Coma itself has lots to offer for a family holiday but it wouldn't suit those looking for nightlife. There are loads of bars and restaurants to choose from and a great beach just a short walk away from the hotel. The hotel itself is not on the beach but only a very short walk away. If you love your internet access whilst away there is an internet room at the hotel as well as an internet cafe on the foreshore. If like me you have a wireless notebook then free wireless access is offered at Bi Ba Bo tavern on the foreshore about a 8 minute walk away. Good reasonably priced food to boot! Car hire is available next to the hotel from topcar i think they were called. A 3 day hire of a small 4 door car with air cond and full insurance was 84 euro. This was a 3 day for the price of 2 but otherwise a similar 3 day hire could be had for around 110 euro just about anywhere. Anyway, best of travels.
LOVED IT
I LOVED my stay at this hotel! the staff were friendly and everything was clean! talk about spacious and the rooms were very comfy. The bar staff were very nice and they were all very polite. The surrounding scenery was the ting i liked most about my stay, the beach is literally arund the corner, and the night life was quite mild (which is a good thing). neighbours to the vacinity were friendly, everyone seemed to have a smile on their faces. I would recommend "Palmeras Playa" to EVERYONE! especially families with children!
A nice hotel
The Palmeras Playa Apartments were clean and spacious, the hotel had good entertainment of an evening and the pool looked very nice but was shaded for most of the day - and was very busy. Luckily the beach is only a minutes walk away, sunbeds and unbrella were quite expensive though, 12 euros a day. We did not eat in the hotel as there are some lovely restaurants nearby - as you come out of the back way by the pool, walk towards the beach and head towards the path on the right leading past the kids trampolines, the best restaurants were this way, especially Lago's (behind the Indian) this restaurant was really lovely, though a little more expensive then others, the food was superb and the staff friendly. Sa Coma itself was a VERY quiet resort, were we eating in the restaurants at about 9pm and were usually the only ones around! Lots of family's visit Sa Coma, if i was to visit Majorca again i would stay in Cala D'Or as this was more busy of an evening, and had a great marina. You must hire a car and head down the coast, there were some beautiful beaches. You must also see the Pirates show it was excellent (can be booked with your rep).
