I have just returned from a skiing holidat to Tigne staying in the Curling Hotel.
Resort excellent
Food excellent
Staff excellent
Situation excellent, central, near lifts
Hotel very disappointing, tired in desperate need of revamping, maintenance when requested non existant, all rooms shabby, lounge for number of guests not large enough, lifts too small for two people let alone luggage, bad lighting, impossble to read a book ion bed. I doubt if the building would pass safety regulations.
- Advice: Yes, but cannot recommend the Curling hotel
- Good For: Ski
- Board Basis:Half Board
- Tour Operator:Booked Independently

I Have just returned after an unforgetable holiday in tignes and felt the need to post a review, especially as i was concerned before i went after reading bad reviews about the hotel. I can however happily disagree with all of these comments and feel that they must have been written by people with nothing better to do. the hotel was as you would expect for a three star: warm, comfortable, homely and basic.Being the first official week of the season they were still ironing out a few creases, such as replacing the tv arial in our room, but the atmosphere among staff and the relationships with guests was brilliant. they were eager to please, polite, welcoming and share the same passion as us- skiing. I had no experiences of noise or disruption in the night as some reviews suggest, and on most evenings slept right from 10pm till breakfast at 7am without waking at all. The skiing was fantastic with a whole range of slopes to choose from, not to mention the offpiste opportunities. it would be as challenging as you want it to be. I started as a confident secondweeker and was making my way around the blacks by the fith day, not wanting to return until the last lift.
- Advice: Be prepared for the expence of food and drink, even the soft drinks with a coke costing £3.50
- Activities: The restaurant at the bottom of the funicular was the best value. The sache run has excellent views.

The holiday overall was good although we felt let down by the hotel staff at the Le Curling. The hotel is run by English season Aires (students) and they aren't trained in customer service and at times were quite rude and uninterested.
The food at the hotel was excellent and they served afternoon tea which was an added bonus! If you are a light sleeper you should request a room on a high floor because the live bar downstairs can get very rowdy at 3am so ear plugs are a must.
The resort is brilliant and we would return again some day because the skiing area was vast and access to Val Disere was included in the ski pass. Tignes has good restaurants and shops and there’s other activities if you don't ski, such as ice driving, husky sledging etc.

I must start by saying that Tignes is a beautiful place with great snow, amenities and great ski instructors.
However, the hotel was disgraceful! I was appauled by the electric wires hanging out from plugs in rooms, the dirty, tired walls, stained floor and general lack of hygine.
Upon arrival we were told we would have to drag our bags up 4 flights of stairs as the lift was not in operation, when entering the room, it was clear that they do not have a cleaner but clean themselves. The bathroom floor had leftover hair and dirt from the previous stayers as well as the dirty sink and skid marks down the toilet. The hotel only got worse, as the week progressed. We would go into lunch with the floor still messy and dirty from breakfast, and children do not leave the place tidy, there was bread on the floor squished butter and general rubbish.
Our lunch time was set at 11:30-12:30 with our afternoon lesson at 12:30, yet a couple of times in the week our food was not served until 11:15 giving us 15 minutes to eat and get out to the slopes (impossible). And all othermeals were served at least 15 minutes late.
As for the food it was not that much better. It was served cold and undercooked. It was topped off when i discovered a DEAD FLY IN MY FOOD!!!!
Do not go here!!!!!! Chose another hotel within beautiful Tignes!!!
