Blau Mediterraneo Hotel

We have just returned from a one week holiday at the Blau Mediterraneo Hotel not to be confused with the Blau Mediterraneo Club which is next door. The facilities are excellent and the overall holiday was very good especially the food. The restaurant is large and although there was lots of people at each seating they never ran out of anything and the service was excellent. Great hotel if you have kids. We were there on our honeymoon (we're 33 and 31). If we had to do it over again we would stay just a little further away in Cala Radjada. Sa coma was one big beach with lots of hotels on the water. Lots of babies at the beach and everywhere. You needed a car to get from the airport to Sa Coma, about 40 mins away. Car was cheap, and a good idea if you want to do some exploring in other parts of Majorca especially in the gorgeous mountains. The Blau Meditteraneo (not to be confused with the Club) is a recently renovated older property in the Germanic resort town of Sa Como. Yes, I said Germanic -- the strange fact of Mallorca is that certain towns have evolved to service the customers of certain countries --- in this case, German is the primary language, with Catalan and Spanish also spoken... and sometimes english. Very nice 4 star hotel newly renovated and with all you can ask for. Very modern style, top service, great pool scenery with direct beach access. Excellent food variety and quality, nice evening entertainment. The SPA facility is certainly above average. We defenitely suggest to take a sea view room. Car parking is also free and if all slots are taken there are plenty of spaces on the street. Stayed at the hotel for one night in March. The rooms are great, very modern and the views totally blow you away! Absolutely amazing! The only downside to the stay was the evening buffet and breakfast buffet. It was designed with the German clientele in mind and was not very exciting at all. The food was bland and not very appealing. I would stay at the hotel again but only on a room only basis.

Recently returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel, last week Sept/first week Oct, booked a week before, through Medhotels. Speedy, friendly check in/check out service at a special reception desk on the lower ground floor. Only twin-bedded room was available at booking, but staff accomodated our request for a king-size bed, quite happily on arrival. I have stayed at the Blau mediterraneo HOTEL 5 times now. It is a lovely hotel and the food quality is brilliant. Mostly German guests, plus and minus points to that - standards are very high, but they get up early! There ARE enough sunbeds, and as the hotel is right on the beach, you have the choice of beach or pool. Staff are very friendly. We paid quite a lot of money for this package holiday (half board). The hotel room was spacious but the furniture was rather old and so were the other furnishings and fixtures (doors, bath etc.) The hotel has a policy of changing sheets only once a week but the housekeeping would change if we asked although there was once, she took our tip but not changed our sheets. We went to the Blau Mediterraneo on the 20th September, and left on the 21st. The hotel itself looks like a grey multi storey car park with row upon row of grey balconies, all with dirt streaks down them - not impressed! On arrival the staff were not particularly friendly or helpful - certainly not welcoming. I think the beach is gorgeous. Stayed at the Blau mediterraneo June 20-25. Initially confused and could not find the hotel as it is actually called 'Royal Mediterraneo Hotel' I walked into the lobby and the desk clerk welcomed me by name - very impressive as I had not introduced myself! Assigned a nice but basic room with seaview and half board meal arrangements. Beautiful view from the room - however a few ants were seens on the balcony. One call to the front desk was all that was needed for maintenance to come to fix the problem. Food in the dining area... more
