Don Juan Beach Resort Hotel

I absolutely loved the Don Juan! They had interesting food-a great selection of everything! It was very nice, the rooms were very cozy! The beach was beautiful, especially during the evenings! it looked so pretty! The most amazing thing about that hotel, was the staff. They were so amazing and easy to get along with. You just become friends with them the moment you arrive! The will remember you for your entire stay! I am definately going back there asap, i was not ready to come home at all! I miss it so much!

A Great place to go (Boca Chica) if you are going with just friends. I and 8 of my friends went to Santo Domingo for my bachelor Party and we stayed at Don Juan all inclusive hotel. We had a great time!! I think the main reason I had a great time is because I felt safe at the hotel. All 4 corners of the hotel were guarded by security. I stayed for a week at the Don Juan hotel. First of all, I do not recommend staying in the old building -- the first room we checked into was tiny and had a dead roach on the floor. We requested to be moved to another room and were accommodated. This room was somewhat better (no bugs) but the thermostat was on one temp, really cold. There were several times of the day where no water, or no hot water was available. We too were promised that water would be available immediately but that took a couple days to fix. Went to this hotel two years ago and again this past May 2005. It was about average to less then, and no different now. There is nothing indicative,service or otherwise, about this hotel to justify the rates they charge or the rating. The buffet style restaurant is very limited in choices and in service. Service with a smile in non-existent.They have one "bar" poolside which also serves a rendition of pizza but that's all you can expect. They close promptly at 5pm. i went there on feb 09 2000 and spent 2 weeks there.the enterrainers were great and they became my friends but i doubt they are still there but it was great and it istrue the employees take good care of u if i had the chance i would go back.

My boyfriend and I just got back from Don Juan and have very few compliants with the resort. When we arrived we were a little sketchy because we didn't know that it was so close to the public and locals but it turned out to be a great time. We felt very safe walking in Boca Chica and talking with locals. The beach was not private, there are quite a few vendors but we found that if we smiled and said "no thank-you" they would walk away. I am not picky person but I would not go there again. The beach was not so great, public and short for walking. Across you see some factories and the water was dirty and smelly. The enterteinment was poor and boring, and the food quality approved after the third day. For 3 stars and the price was ok but I am not going again into LaRoman area again.

Our Don Juan Beach Resort experience got off to a rocky start. A hurricane was just leaving the area. During our long ride to Boca Chica from the airport at La Romana, the bus driver got confused and we briefly headed west on an eastbound lane of the highway! my family and i had a horrible experience at the don juan beach resort in the dominican republic. firstly, when we arrived, we were surprised and disappointed to find out that this resort did not have a private beach. it was a public beach that was teeming with vendors who hassled and harassed people all day, everyday of our stay. secondly, we did not have running water everyday. each day at a few hour intervals there would be no water. this would last for at least a few hours to a half a day. each time we would call the operator... more
