My partner and I decided to book a cheap Easter break, checking Trip Advisor we decided to book the Morito Club Hotel as the reviews were much better than the other hotels that were coming up at a similar price. We arrived on the first day of opening and were impressed... more

Hotel is very nice, better than we were expecting for a 3*, from previous experience of 3* hotels in majorca. Hotel itself is very clean, staff are nice, not many speak English though. The fridge in the room is a full size fridge with a small freezer compartment. Rooms have... more

The Hotel was well located for shops and beach. It was extremely clean in all areas and the service was both friendly and efficient from all members of staff (cleaners, reception, waiters etc). The food was better than expected with a wide variety of salads every day... more

Hotel Morito is in good position for sea & shops. Public rooms and bedrooms are tastefully decorated and are in excellent condition. The pool area, too, is clean and well kept with plenty of free sun beds and seating areas. However, food at the Morito leaves a lot to be... more

Give it a miss
We booked our trip to the Hotel Morito - a Club Green Oasis resort in Cala Millor through Med-hotels on line. I would like to say that I don't have any problems with Med-hotels they were just a go between and in fact saved us a lot of money compared to if we had booked direct with the hotel. First impressions of the hotel were not good. The outside is badly in need of redecoration - it certainly isn't gleaming white as depicted in the photographs on the web site. However, the reception area was clean and tidy and the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We were also impressed as we arrived at 11am and our room was ready for us to move into. We had expected to have to wait until after 2pm so we were pleased about this as we'd had a very early flight. Our room was on the fifth floor and had a nice enough view over the surrounding countryside and the pool area of the hotel opposite. We had an awful smell in the room which was very like raw sewerage. My husband reported this to the receptionist who made a note of it but nothing was done about it. The next day, the smell was worse so my husband reported it again. This time the maintenance man came to the room and poured something down the drains which appeared to get rid of the smell for a day or so. Then it returned and so did the maintenance man with another solution which he poured down the drains. We finally worked out the smell wasn't actually coming out of the drains but through an air vent in the bathroom. Apart from the smell the room was clean and tidy albeit pretty basic. We were on an all inclusive basis and had I realised that the hotel had a combination of all inclusive and half board, I would never have booked it. We have been on many all inclusive holidays and only find there is a problem when the hotels try to mix all inc with HB, it just doesn't work. In this particular hotel we were defnitely made to feel like second class citizens. The drinks were served in paper cups and the quality of the drinks was awful. Cheap rubbish doesn't come anywhere near. There was no waiter service from the bar for all inclusive guests whereas the half board guests had full waiter service with drinks served in glasses. This even went as far as the coffee. If you were all inclusive you had to put up with coffee from a machine, if you were half board and paying for your coffee you got it freshly made. The food was not at all good. Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day although that wasn't particularly good either. There was a couple of bowls of something which I imagine was yoghurt but to be honest it could have been anything pink with lumps in it. There were a couple of cereals available, processed cheese, something that didn't quite pass as being ham, hard boiled eggs, scrambled egg - one day we had fried eggs and I have to say they were very nice just a shame they didn't appear again. There were also some kind of sausages available but I won't even begin to describe them !! The fruit juice was out of a machine and was clearly on the weakest possible mix. There was also bread and rolls available and some rather strange looking jam. At least at breakfast you could get some butter - but not at lunch or dinner, when only margarine was available. Lunch and dinner were very much the same. There was salad available but no cold meats or cheese. Soup, one fish choice and one meat choice, one type of potato, usually chips but always called something other than chips i.e., dollar potatoes or french potatoes, but always chips, apart from one day where there was mash - bring back the chips !!! There was also one vegetable and if it didn't get eaten it appeared in with the salad the next day - cold brussell sprout salad doesn't appeal to too many people. The meat and fish were always of very poor quality and served up in a sauce probably to disguise how awful it actually was. One day we had "English Style Green Beans" Not quite sure where the English bit came into it - i've certainly never served up green beans anything like it - needless to say they ended up in the salad the next day. You could help yourself to drinks at meal times - water, fruit juice (same as the stuff served up at breakfast time), white, red or rose wine all out of a hole in the wall and all freezing cold and equally disgusting, sangria which was drinkable and the only time you actually got it in a glass with a piece of fruit and an ice cube (and only because you made it yourself) pepsi, lemon or fizzy orange. I could actually write a book about the quality of the food in the restaurant, with such a limited choice its difficult to understand how the chef had a problem dishing up something relatively edible. However, if you haven't worked out by now that it was not good then you should go and give it a go yourself but don't say you weren't warned. The entertainment was OK. We were there for 7 days and there was entertainment on 5 nights. None of this was by hotel animation teams. It probably wasn't to everyone's taste but it was something to watch in the evening and certainly took your mind off the awful drinks in the paper cups. There was no organised entertainment in the day time but we were there late in the season and it's not something that we would want anyway. There was a small play area for children. All was not bad though and it would be very unfair to write a review that was completely one sided. The majority of the staff were very nice, friendly and happy people. One guy in particular who we imagine was the restaurant manager, was such a nice guy he certainly deserved to be working in a much better hotel. The pool area was nice and always kept clean and tidy, The pool itself was small but it was never crowded, probably due to there being a nice beach just along the road. We never had a problem getting a sun bed but possibly in the high season this might not be the case. The hotel is very close to the pedestrianised area with lots of shops and bars so nice for anyone who doesn't want to just sit around doing nothing all day and also very close to the beach. There is also an excellent Italian restaurant at the front of the hotel on the main road - we had a couple of very nice meals in there - Trattoria Dottore - fantastic food and not very expensive, we were so pleased it was there. All in all, a very disappointing holiday, mainly due to the stupid rules and regulations for all inclusive guests and the very poor quality and choice of food. We have in fact stayed at a Green Oasis hotel before in Fuerteventura, which was much better than this one. I do hope you find this helpful and unless you aren't fussy about eating well, then defnitely give this one a miss.
