" Hotel is very nice, better than we... "

Hotel is very nice, better than we were expecting for a 3*, from previous experience of 3* hotels in majorca.

Hotel itself is very clean, staff are nice, not many speak English though. The fridge in the room is a full size fridge with a small freezer compartment. Rooms have a hairdryer, which we didn't realise beforehand. There is airconditioning in the room, it was a little tempermental but generally good.

Drinks - we were all inclusive so there was tea, coffee, soft drinks, spirits & beers free (local alcohol only) from 10am to midnight. Thankfully the glasses weren't the tiny little plastic cups we have had in previous hotels and you could ask for a large pint glass.

The pool area is vast there was never a shortage of sunbeds or chairs to relax on. The pool itself could be a bit bigger but it was more than adequate for a plunge to cool down.

Location - a small walk to the beach (which is absolutely gorgeous!!!), the shops are right at the back of the hotel and they stretch for approx 3/4 - 1 mile from one end to the other.

Food - not brilliant, it was generally catered for europeans. There is a change of menu everyday. Breakfast is OK, 6 out of the 7 days we were there they had baked beans on and they have a toast machine, so beans on toast for me. Lunch and dinner, there was always one sort of potato to have with your meal, i.e chips, potatoes, sliced potatoes & mash. Be prepared to be adventurous if you want to try there food though. Food is generally luke warm unless you time it right there has been a food change.

There are quite a few english bars in the resort. The nearest 2 is the sportsman and the rose & crown, both within a 5 mins walk. We spent most of our time in the sportsman to be honest, just found it suited us more. We had english food from both bars, the sportsman seems to be abit cheaper on drinks, but both were about the same for food.

Overall I would go back to the hotel and resort again, but I know not to expect to eat alot in the hotel.

It is a quieter resort than we have been to previously, it's probably not suited to 18 year olds who want to party all night long, it is more of a chilled out resort which is what we wanted to relax and it is very flat everywhere so suitable for disabled people.

There aren't many reviews to be found either on this hotel, as we found when we were researching so hope this helps you all.

" Party of 5 adults
staff are... "

Party of 5 adults
staff are very nice, helpful and friendly especially jesus and david (the 2 guys behind the bar).
very clean hotel. rooms spotless towels changed every day bedlinen every other day. lovely pool and sunbathing area. We had fantastic seaviews from balcony (all rooms above 3rd floor have sea views at no extra charge)
only one complaint food was dreadful. breakfast was passable but evening meal was one meat dish (usually some kind of stew) one fish dish and 2 nights pasta and of course chips everyday including breakfast, and food was always cold. We ate out a number of times.
its a nice hotel just a shame it is let down by the poor food, for that reason we would not return .

" We booked our holiday 6 weeks before... "

We booked our holiday 6 weeks before we flew out through onthebeach.com.

Upon arrival (2am) we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who spoke good English and was very helpful.

We had a double room on the top floor facing the small but adequate sized pool and large lounge area. It was very clean and had some beautiful views of Cala Millor beach and town.

The maid as with all the staff are very nice people. Our room was made up every day with fresh towels.

Our 1st buffet meal was breakfast and wow I was impressed! The food is gorgeous. Every meal from then on was just as different and scrumptious. Nothing is reheated and there is plenty to choose from.

I'm glad to update on the drink situation mentioned below. We always had drinks in glasses which you can have from 10am to 12am daily, all served by the brilliant bar staff. Again all speak English, some better than others! Which was good as our Spanish is embarrassingly poor!

Erm, the evening entertainment was a little on the 'ho - hum' side but we were happy being in a beautiful country.

The review below also mentions about Cala Millor being quite German based which yes it is! We didn’t come across any problems though, other than another language we couldn't understand!!

They are lots of interesting shops, pubs, tattooist, restaurants (there is a lovely cafe on the right of the hotel opposite the Said Hotel)

We visited AQUALAND in El' Arenal via a trips agent in the high street. After visiting WESTERN PARK 2 years before I was incredibly disappointed. We paid €32 each which is about average (includes coach travel) but you then have the option of hiring the inflatable rings to go down the shoots in! We didn’t hire them and used the parks own, but you needed to first cue for the hired ones (which was approx. 1 in 10 rings through each ride) then cue again to get on the ride!

If that didn’t seem a rip off it was then another €5 for a locker and €15 for 1 drink 2 baguettes and a packet of crisps! Western park not only doesn’t charge to use their inflatable rings but the lockers are cheaper and so too is the food. As for the rides I’d say that WESTERN PARK is best.

We also went into Mallorca, a city about 20 min drive away. It has a large market with lots to choose from, though I couldn’t find what I wanted! We got the bus from outside Hotel Morito which was half hour late and rammed! Still it had air-con so not all bad! We did get a taxi back (always ask how much before getting in) which cost €21.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay not only in Hotel Morito but in Cala Millor. We would defiantly return and with my 9 year old son too.

" The Hotel was well located for shops... "

The Hotel was well located for shops and beach. It was extremely clean in all areas and the service was both friendly and efficient from all members of staff (cleaners, reception, waiters etc).

The food was better than expected with a wide variety of salads every day with 2 or 3 hot dishes and potato in a different style each day, although the "paper cup rule" applied for drinks to All Inclusive guests until 9pm!

One thing that some people may want to know before taking a holiday in Cala Millor, is that it is predominantly a German area and this reflected in the guests at the Hotel, fortunately most staff spoke many languages so there were no problems.

The entertainment was not fantastic, there were things to do, but at the time of our stay, most people just wanted to relax anyway.

The pool was small, but very clean and adequate. On the whole, it offered what we had wanted for our holiday - not too big, not too noisy, clean & friendly.

" Hotel Morito is in good position for... "

Hotel Morito is in good position for sea & shops. Public rooms and bedrooms are tastefully decorated and are in excellent condition. The pool area, too, is clean and well kept with plenty of free sun beds and seating areas. However, food at the Morito leaves a lot to be desired. Choice is extremely poor - one fish dish, one meat dish plus potatoes (mainly chips) and one vegetable. Desserts, too, were mundane and repetitive. Worse, food was almost cold at every meal - breakfast, lunch & dinner - with no microwave facility for overcoming the problem. Drinks at the bar throughout the day for 'all-inclusive' guests whether sitting outside or inside were served in either plastic or paper cups but in glasses for 'half-board' guests - somewhat discriminatory. 'All-inclusives' were also subjected to having their pre-dinner drinks served in paper cups up to 8p.m. each day. Although in its brochure the Morito boasts five professional shows weekly as part of its entertainment programme, this was not the case during out stay. In fact, only two 'professional' acts appeared during out 14 days there - a three-piece group on one night and an organist/singer on another. A parrot show, billed for a third night, failed to appear without explanation. One could only assume the birds had flown! Bingo and quizzes made up the remainder of the so-called 'entertainment' with each lasting for no more than 45-minutes. However, the hotel’s staff deserves praise. Although all appeared to be overworked, they were extremely courteous and friendly. Although my wife and I enjoyed our holiday at the Morito - mainly because of the lovely people we met there - sadly we shall not be returning. While the hotel is impressive in many ways, it is badly let down by the food it serves, its plastic and paper cups policy and its entertainment programme - a view shared by all the fellow guests we talked with during out stay.
