This is a fantastic hotel if you like live shows, a casino and great views right on the beach. We really loved the lazy swimming pool river that without to much effort took you pass the swim-up bar on each circuit - a tough life!! The iguana's that kept us company on the rocks by the buffet restaurant were really fun and tame. A lovely little island which you see round in one day, but we have lovely memories of a really relaxing holiday-and plan another visit soon.

Just returned from 14 days at this hotel, have nothing but praise for the staff who were very friendly and cheerfull. rooms were clean and spacious, clean towels everyday, lots of hot water. food was very good, something for everbody. i would say though if you go to this hotel book your a la carte restuarants as soon as you arrive as they get booked up very quickly. beach and pool kept very clean plenty of sun beds on the beach, not so many around pool. the shows this hotel put on were marvellous and i would recommend you see them.

Had a lovely holiday in Aruba. A very safe island, but not a lot to see and do. The Occidental Grand Aruba has a lovely ambience, excellent food, friendly staff & good entertainment although repeated every week. (quite common in the Caribbean) The only down side was when we returned home we found some of our clothes missing, which means they had been through our dirty washing bag to get them. Therefore if you choose to go there make sure you check your belongings.

I went to this hotel with my boyfriend in September of 2006. We cannot rate it highly enough! We loved this hotel and the island of Aruba!!
The food was great - all inclusive buffet with 5 al a carte restaurants of different cuisines.
Some were better than others, but with a 2 week holiday you got 8 reservations in any of them which was great - the Japanese was fantastic!!
The pool was so lovely. It’s been recently refurbished and you could tell! The swim up bar we loved especially the cocktails!
Aruba as a country is great. We would definitely go there again and we wouldn’t think about staying in another hotel if we went again!

this was our first all inclusive stay so we didn't know what to expect. we found the whole experience fantastic at the occidental. the service in all areas was first class from the restaurants to the bars to the reception. we were pelasantly surprised by the quality of the food after reading one or two reviews. i am a reasonably fussy eater but found that there was so much variety at the buffet that i vould have something differnt every night. the four theme restaurants were of varying quality - the italian was 10/10, oriental 9/10, caribbean 7/10 and the mexican 5/10 (although as i don't like mexican food this is perhaps an unfair score). overall i would recommend it to anybody and would definitely come back
