Amazing Hol!
from Flick87
Just wanted to say how wicked this hotel was!!!! the people are so friendly and they make such an effort to ensure thet british guests feel at home and welcome. Id love to go back! the whole atmosphere is great! there is a nice pool with pool bar, hotel shop, hotel bar with all sorts of evening entertainment including pool competitions, bingo, kareoke, and quizzes!!! there is a hotel resturant, called venue.. Food in here is great, and really reasonable. The rooms are decent, shower slightly small but hey your not going to faliraki to shower!!!! room got cleaned every day but sunday! id just like to say a huge thank you to ricky and sally who both make a huge effort with everyone and are doing great! sally has a beauy business by the pool. It is great she does loads from manicures, to facials, to your hair, and make up application! i had a french manicure and a french pedicure, and a facial and they were all great and reasonablly priced. hope everyone is ok and enjoying the rest of the season at the venezia, thank you for making my holiday!!! Great people, even better hotel
from Ninja2111
Myself along with my wife and daughter stayed at the Venezia (pronounced Venice-ia) between 23/507 and 31/5/07. It was our first holiday to Rhodes so were a bit apprehensive as the hotel is located on the outskirts of Faliraki, which over the years has gained a reputation for drunken brawls. We need not have worried as both the hotel and Faliraki itself were very welcoming. The hotel is situated on the top of a hill which meant a 2 mile uphill walk from the town centre (a taxi cost about 6 Euro approx £4). The benefit of the hill top location meant great views plus uninterrupted sunshine all day long. The hotel is family ran and all the staff Sam, Maria,Takis, Ricky, Nickos and Sally were great - really friendly and welcoming, the free shots in the bar of a night time may be swaying my view though. The hotel had a new restaurant installed for this season and it is worth every penny (or cent) they spent on it. A 3 course meal for 3 cost around 24 Euro (approx £17) I would recommend the Feta Saganaki as a starter. The bar stays open until the last person leaves and serves up a great non alcoholic fruit cocktail for the kids, we all enjoyed the Karaoke nights but I'm not sure if they could take my rendition of Mustang Sally again. The bar leads onto an outdoor veranda which in turn leads onto a soft play area/ball pit for the young ones - they really have thought of everything!! We stayed in a self catering studio which was perfectly adequate for our needs, it consisted of 2 single beds plus a chair bed for our daughter, fridge, breakfast table, kettle, crockery plus electric twin plate for cooking. We never cooked anything as the restaurant was so good. The bathroom was very spacious apart from the shower which was probably the smallest (and most powerful) I've ever experienced. Each of the studios had their own private balcony with table and chairs. The pool area was fantastic, big main pool plus small childrens pool, childrens play area, all day sun, plenty of loungers, inflatables plus it's own bar which served drinks and hot food all day. All in all this was a fantastic hotel which I would recommend to anyone - it's that good we're already organising our return next year. Dave, Mandy & Rebecca
Friendly people

The Venezia Hotel is really British oriented but we (Dutch people) were able to get used to this quite fast (including evening activtities like Bingo). Really very friendly staff in the morning (great English breakfast) as well as in the evening in the bar (especially Nikos and Grace!). Rooms were quite small and taking a shower is quite a special experience but you take these things for granted if you have visited quite some islands in Greece before. Definitely a hotel to visit again !
Fantastic hillside location giving panoramic views of Faliraki Bay
from stevetvs
We booked the Venezia independantly for 2 weeks after looking at previous reviews and arrived mid afternoon. A family run hotel located on a hillside about 1 km from the town centre it is a pleasant 15 min walk but a bit of a hike coming back up however taxi fare is 5 euro each way or anywhere in Faliraki come to that. There is also a nice typical greek village if you continue up the hill about 1 km the other way ( try the rib shop I think we got half a pig for 8 euros!) Checked in to a basic ( typically Greek) but nice clean room at the far side of the complex giving great balcony views over Faliraki Bay. Room was serviced everyday except Sunday (sheets/towels/quick clean) TV and DVD in room (you can hire the DVD's from reception) kettle, single hob (we ate out so no problem) plenty of drawers and wardrobe space, table and chairs in the room and on the balcony. A small but "proper" shower in the bathroom (unusual for greek hotels but a blessing). Air con is an extra which I didn't mind paying for but it went off when you removed the electronic key fob to go out this resulted in a very hot room on your return which then takes ages to cool down again (other hotels I have stayed at are wired so the air con is on all the time if you so wish) Pool area very nice and clean with food and drink up to 18.00 hrs (excellent choice with reasonable prices). They have specials nights one Greek and one curry every week. Nice reception area with a mini market (pricey but it is a hotel or walk 5 mins down the road to supermarket and save a few cents) Inside bar area provides food up to midnight and then pizza 24 hrs, drink prices same as in town (happy hour 9-10 pm 2-4-1 on spirit+mixers) Small stage with disco, kareoke, and professional entertainment on some nights ( we saw a Drifters Tribute ). There is a large veranda near the bar which gives great views night and day. All the staff in general were nice although some of the younger generation complained of a 2 tier attitude by some staff, but there again having to work on reception and being greeted by a group of 20 somethings returning from club street at 5.00am must take it's toll eventually! All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.
Didn't expect the Ritz, but didn't expect this either!

It was unseasonably hot, but while some rooms had air conditioning and others not, fans and (if there) air-conditioning was available at a price. Even with the doors open, sleep became impossible, so we dragged the matresses out to the verandah. The one-per-person bathroom towels were so small, you had to make a choice whether to show your bottom, or your top! The cleaners and the hotel were willing to do the bare minimum, we had to request loilet paperfrom the reception desk, the room and verandah were "cleaned" by swiping with a grubby mop, and the old man on reception was very rude and abrupt.
Venezia Is Good Value!

Myself (18) and my female friend (17) stayed at the Venezia on bed+breakfast basis for 1 week at the end of June. First impressions were good, with a welcoming young receptionist, which we soon realised was the only friendly member of staff working here! The rest of the staff were very snappy and not happy to help. Despite this we watched the England v Porugal World Cup Match in the hotel bar which is large with big screens and a great atmosphere. Drinks and food prices at the Venezia were very reasonable-1.50 euro for a glass of wine and 1.80 for chips and curry sauce. The view from the hotel was amazing overlooking Falliraki, however the Venezia is situated at the top of a steep hill, taxis only cost 6 euros into the resort . There is a bus stop outside the hotel which takes you to Faliraki, Rhodes Town and Lindos. We only encountered one problem with the hill and that was after a great night out in Faliraki the taxi driver stopped halfway up the hill as my friend felt unwell and would not allow her back into the taxi! Carrying a pair of shoes, 2 handbags, a bottle of water and a girl that cant stand up proved to be a nightmare up that hill! The room was small with a smelly wardrobe, but the space didnt bother us and a bit of deodorant soon got rid of the smell. There was no hairdryer. There was a large tv and dvd player, a fridge and a kettle. The sheets and towels were changed everyday apart from Sunday(if you can call them towels-more like tea towels BIG FOLK BEWARE YOU WILL NEED TO SEW 4 TOGETHER.) The room was clean on arrival but the floor was not swept or mopped the whole week, the shower was so small that when you turned around your backside moved the taps leading to a change in the temperature of the water. The pool area was clean with plenty of sun loungers and shade, this is one of the only hotels I have stayed in where you dont have to move the sunbed to stay in the sun. We had no quarrels with our friends the Germans over the sunbeds as they were all english guests! Faliraki itself is brill during the day, the beach is clean with lots of sun loungers (3.50 euro each) and parasols. The sea is not rough and lovely to relax in. There are lots of shops along Club Street and are really good prices. at night time all the PR's appear along club and bar street , they do try and drag the young ones in all the bars but if you persist you can get around 3 free shots out of them! GIRLS !!! Look out for the 2 gorgeous PR's outside Climax which is def the best bar as well as Vibes and Bondai. As far as the clubs go we found they were full of 14 yr olds. Liquid was the best with Dave on the upstairs bar and Claire who looked after us all night. Dont go to Q ! , this is the only place we found strange characters in and felt unsafe. Sting Club was full of germans. However we felt very safe all the time we were in faliraki whether it being 5am or 5pm. We didn't see any trouble at all, even on the bar crawls. This hotel is good for families, couples and groups of friends.
Fantastic Hotel, with Fantastic views and Friendly Staff

A lovely hotel situated away from the main area of Faliraki, but not too far from the Shops such as Morrisons, Asda, Safeway and Sainsburys (Note: not the same as the UK ones) and with a very good bar, with a friendly and funny barman called Nico. Well run and very clean hotel, woul;d recommend that you stay here if you are staying in Faliraki. for both family and groups of friends. would rate this hotel 10/10, though there is a steep hill to the hotel from the town, it is still a fantastic hotel and i personally would go back there again in the future as had a great time there, and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Just got back Sat 13 May 2006, only there for the week but wish we had stayed longer, real family atmosphere. Hotel was very clean, breakfasts are a must, happy hour, bingo, karaoke. Beautiful grounds, very friendly bar staff really good measures. Will definately going back next year but for two weeks.
Did not like it
from lorenzo82
Stayed at this hotel in October 2001 and i didnt like it. Firstly, when we arrived in the middle of the night we had no bedding in our room, and worst of all there was dried in vomit on the floor between the two beds. Near the end of our holiday he came back one day to a dead rat outside our studio. The kitchen area was rubbish. On the plus side though, the reception area was really nice and the pool was pretty good. The hotel is up a steep hill but its not too far to the resort centre.
room at the top

visited the venezia in oct. 20005 beatiful hotel very friendly bar staff and quite lively for time of year. the hotel is at the top of a very steep hill and one night my husband was a little bit the worse for wear and fell and split his head the head barman and a guy named jed who was a comedian at the hotel phoned an ambulance and jed went with him and stayed till he was discharged and brought him back in a taxi. jed if you read this i cannot thank you enough also the big barman so i would rate the venezia excellent in spite of the hill.
Well were do we start. This hotel is shocking and and is not a all inclusive. we got ham and cheese every day for breakfast. Dinner time was a hot dog and u could only have one sitting if this, dinner was pasta or rice with a bit of cake. you hade no option for alcoholic... more
