Petinos Hotel

My husband and I just came back from a 16 day tour of Greece which included a three day cruise and Mykonos was our last island before heading back to Athens then going home. We went with a tour group. Before leaving on our trip we visited the Petinos website and we were very excited about the beauty of the hotel and were looking forward to it with much anticipation. Well, we had no hotel and met some travelers on the ferry who told us about this hotel. So, we followed them off the ferry and found the representative for Petinos. He called and got us a room on the spot, and we were surprised. Our room had an excellent view of the sea, was comfortable, beautiful, and roomy with all of the extras. Breakfast was delicious every morning and was included in the excellent price! This hotel was a wonderful experience and everyone was friendly!

I stayed in this hotel for one night in Sept 2007. (It was supposed to be three nights, but bad weather and cancelled ferries intervened.) This is not the Petinos Beach hotel, but the Hotel Petinos, a little ways off the beach. Positives: – The hotel is very close to the beach, a walk of just a minute or two. However, it’s a typically congested and not very large beach and, in my opinion, not very pleasant (not the hotel’s fault, of course!). Hotel was great. The room was comfortable for three of us. The staff were all pleasant. Internet access was available for a fee. Short walking distance to the beach. Beach chairs were available for about 5 euros. Excellent restaurant, Nikos, on the beach. The bus to Mykonos town picks you up right outside the hotel.

Hotel Petinos located on the beach at Play Yialos was an amazing experience. Air-conditioned rooms, friendly helpful staff, and the Blue Myth restaurant was a bonus. Wednesday and Sunday night dancing by the locals added to the charm of our trip. Take a boat to Paradise or Super Paradise beach just a few steps from your room. Catch the bus to town for a night of dancing or soaking in the nightlife. The Supermarket across the street provided everything a traveler could need and cheap prices. I don't know why some people are hesitant to give a bad review after being screwed, or tolerate this hotel's constant "bait and switch". It's insulting. Same thing happened to us as did to SO many. Booked at the Petinos according to the pictures showed by Travelocity and others, and got a crummy little room at the Nissaki across the street. Told there weren't any other rooms - and I booked a YEAR in advance!!!! Can't we DO something about this? DON'T STAY HERE. When you complain about anything, they don't care. I stayed at the Petinos Hotel for three nights while on Trafalgar's Island Hopper tour. It's a very nice hotel in a great location. The bathroom is extremely small. The shower is tiny and the water ends up all over the floor. Housekeeping did a good job of cleaning it up each morning. You must not throw any toilet paper in the toilets on the Greek Islands. We were also part of the Greek Island Hopper from Trafalgar, and stayed at the Petinos Hotel (across the tiny street from the Petinos Beach Hotel). Oddly enough, the Petinos Hotel had more of the actual beach share than the other one! LOL I actually enjoyed this place. We booked the Greek Island Hopper Tour through Trafalger Tours which included a three night stay in Mykonos. The hotels advertised were the Palladium Hotel or the Petinos Beach Hotel. When arriving in Mykonos we were informed that we would be staying at the Petinos Hotel (which is across the street from Petinos Beach Hotel). The Petinos Hotel is rated a 2 star hotel by local Greek hotel guides (we were on a first class luxury tour and should have been in a 4 star). The staff were unhelpful for the few requests we had. I beleive we were really taken advatage of here.....We had a reservation at the Beach Hotel right across the street, but ended up staying at The Petinos Hotel as they had overbooked. Everything is clean at the Hotel, but rooms are cramped, breakfast poor, and hotel staff are rude and could care less. The Breakfast was canned fruit, processed cheese, toast, and some egg goop with chopped peppers.
