Myconian K Hotel

I was part of a tour and they were taking care of the hotel reservations for us and you always wonder about what will be the reality vs. what you see in the brochure but I was pleasantly surprise. This is not a big hotel thank god…. There are only roughly 60 rooms that look like little maisonettes which h fit well with the décor and are characteristics of the island. I know this hotel and have stayed a few times; yes it is out of the town, but to me that is more a blessing than a disadvantage, as you are not so bothered by the motor bikes and cars going 24 x 7. The walk to town can be a challenge, and remember its easy down the hill but walking back up could be hard for some. Taxis are easily available, and relatively inexpensive. I was in Germany at the time when my then boyfriend and I booked a trip to Mykonos to get away from Germany... We got a fabulous deal from Opodo. After taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel (it only cost a few euros) we checked in and was given our room. The bathroom was super small (as with most European hotels) and we later found dead bugs all in our room. By just laying on the bed, it would collapse. This is an amazing hotel, pool and place to stay in Mykynos. It's not right in the center of town (and it's a bit of a dangerous walk - but so is walking anywhere in Mykynos) but other than that it is perfect for those looking to chill out, party their butts off in down town, or just hang out by the pool. The facilities are very, very nice and excellent for the price point that they charge. I'm sure there are much nicer hotels in Mykynos, but this is probably the best for what they charge per night. I highly recommend this place.

If you like Mykonos, you could like the Myconian K Complex, it's well located just outside of the town, (Anyway you should but if you don't rent a car or a scooter you'll have to walk ±10 minutes) It's really nice and clean, the pool is great, the views on the town, the see and the sunset are awesome. The breakfast is not really various but anyway if you like Mykonos, you'll not be awake for the breakfast ;-).... Don't forget to ask for a double bed.... it's seems to be rare. There were 5 of us traveling to Greece to celebrate a 50th Birthday. We wanted to be near Mykonos Town or (Chora) as it is known and the K-Hotel was recommended. It is just outside the town with a wonderful view of the city. We rented scooters to get around the island and that was the best thing to do. We did not have to wait for the busses to take us to the beaches. The front desk staff called the Scooter Company for us and we were picked up and taken to get our scooters. The k hotel complex is made up of four hotels starting with the letter K. We stayed at the Kalypso. The lobby areas and restaurant are attractive with all white decor and the views of Mykonos' harbor are lovely. But we were extremely disappointed in our room, which necessitated walking steep steps, was very small and cramped, and in which not all the lights were working. The decor left a lot to be desired. The views were plenty, but the beds were awful. The front desk staff I found a bit rude and useless when it came to being helpful in information about getting around the island. If you walk into town, along the way you will get a better deal in renting a scooter or small car. The rate we were offered at the hotel was a bit higher than the going rate. I would not stay there again. Views or no views. You should at least have a comfortable bed for the price that you pay.

First, a word about Mykonos. My husband and I are in our early 30s and like to have a few drinks like anyone else. However, Mykonos is a big party town and it is more "touristy" than other islands. At night, the downtown is full of clubbers etc. looking to stay out until the wee hours. If you want to relax and have a romantic stay, stay at the hotels and beach. If you decide to go downtown, ladies, DO NOT WEAR HEELS. Your foot will get stuck in the cobblestone walkways. I ended up buying sandals and ditching my shoes. Now, the hotel.... more

What a wonderful stay at this location. The accommodations were very nice. The restaurant was excellent. The food was top notch and the service and employees working there made you feel like you were someone special. We were treated with complimentary drinks and or desserts many times during our stay. The view from the hotel onto the sea was magnificent. The locals were very polite and helpful with most speaking English fairly well. I would have to say that this location (hotel & Mykonos) would remain one of my favorite trips of all.
