Cenit Hotel

My partner and I have just returned from the Cenit Hotel, Figueretas, where we had a wonderful week. We have stayed here on previous occasions in a studio, which is fine and serves it's purpose, but noisier as it forms part of one of the main buildings. The two bedroom apartment we had on this occasion, however, was excellent. In a separate block, therefore quieter, very clean and with plenty of space for 4 people even though it was just the two of us. Only criticisms are no air conditioning and the kitchen was kitted out for very basic meal preparation. However, we had fantastic views across the bay in Figueretas, as the apartment was so spacious, the lack of air conditioning was not such a problem and who wants to cook on holiday anyway? The hotel is run by very nice people and the pool area, with a full service bar, must have the best uninterrupted views across the bay and promenade of Figueretas. The hotel is on a hill, however, hence the great views, so not ideal for people with disabilities or problems walking. Overall, this is an excellent two star hotel offering a variety or accommodation options from regular rooms, studios or apartments. We had a great time getting to know other people as the atmosphere around the pool is very friendly, probably due to the fact few British tourists stay!! Additionally, if you are looking for the best breakfast on the island, go to a bar called '1 y Dos' at Calle Ramon Muntaner, which is owned by two lovely South African ladies named Una and Mitch, who not only welcome you as old friends, but offer beautifully fresh made fruit drinks of varying combinations and a fantastic breakfast menu. In the evening you should return to the bar for the best cocktail list I have seen outside of the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons: properly mixed cocktails tailored to individual tastes rather than the generic 'shot & mixer' drinks. Not only are the ladies friendly and fabulous, they know how to make a drink!! Stay at the Cenit and go to 1 y Dos for breakfast and cocktails, you won't regret either.

The Cenit is a gay friendly 2 star hotel & appartment block perched right above Figueretas with amazing views of the bay, Ibiza town & Playa d'en Bossa. I stayed in the hotel in a huge room all to myself for less than 35€ a night B&B - fantastic value. The room was clean, very basic ie what I expected for 2 stars, but perfectly OK. The pool terrace is 4 star however, spotless, all new sunbeds etc with great views. The terrace was often frequented by many of Ibiza's young 'beautiful people' who said it was the only place to hang out. Lots of gay Germans!
