" We have just spent 2 weeks at one of... "

We have just spent 2 weeks at one of the best all round holiday locations we as a family of 3 (2 adults and an 8 year old) have been to.

We stopped in the seperate annexe section which in our opinion had the nicer pool, however did not have a view of the beach unlike the main block which is right on it.

All the staff from the cleaners to the bar staff and the receptionist were brilliant, they seemed to take a real pride in their work and all spoke good English, whilst we were there we had lots of German, Dutch, Spanish and even the odd French person, so the kids club which our daughter loved (and is all free) came back with loads of new friends and an odd bit of the lingo (puts our schools to shame how so many of them could speak almost perfect English at 8 years old and most English kids couldn't speak a single word of German, Spanish etc...)

The organisers of the kids club were great, keeping them busy whilst we had a couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon to soak up the sun.

The 4 restaurants plus the 2 poolside bars served all manner of food and there are drinks machines all over the place just to help yourself (including beer) whenever you wanted it. Cocktails were also included which we managed to work our way through, well, most of them.

All in all a fantastic hotel, great location, great entertainment and great staff, a credit to the Riu group and we will look out for the Riu sign next time we fly away from the great British summer!

" I wanted to review this place from a... "

I wanted to review this place from a younger point of view. I went with my parents (altho im 20, yes still getting free holidays) and I really wasnt sure what to expect. It was a wicked holiday, mostly thanks to the people who were there at the same time as me! The rooms were nice, always clean, the food choices were plenty, and the entertainment was... well ok. Disco was pretty fun too. shame it only wen on until 2!!!! and the dj played my fave tunes! even better!

" I'm giving this accommodation a 6/10.... "

I'm giving this accommodation a 6/10. We booked an All Inclusive package but weren't overly impressed with the food choice. If you liked chips and potatoes then fair enough but after 3 days it became a bit much. We actually ate out in the town 3 out of the 7 nights. The hotel itself and is clean and well maintained. It is probably 90% German and this is what is catered for.... undertandably. However I would not return to this accommodation again. Granted we probably should have looked at the reviews more carefully before we booked and I will deffo be doing this in the future.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel based approx 5km out of town then this is perfect. If you are looking for something different, livelier and some english entertainment then I would recommend you book somewhere else.

Corralejo itself it quite quiet so I would avoid this if it's not what you are looking.

On the positive though the weather was fantastic, late 20's to early 30's whilst we were there. Beach that the hotel is set on is absolutely stunning.

" Cant really say enough about this... "

Cant really say enough about this hotel apart from the fact that we will be returning at some point. Rooms were clean and all hotel staff were friendly and helpfull.
Entertainment was a bit dissapointing as it was mainly geared towards the German guests but since they made up a good 80% of the guests i suppose you have to live with that.
We stayed in the annex which admittedly has seen better days really could do with a little bit of a makeover. But the food for an all-inclusive deal was fantastic.
ALL I CAN SAY NOW IS GO AND FIND OUT YOURSELF!!!!

My wife and I got a transfer from the disgusting Lobosol aradise apartments to RUI Oliva Beach, we could not believe the difference, the Lobosol is supposed to be 4 star, if it is the RUI Oliva Beach is 50 star, it is a superb hotel, great food great staff, great everything, I cannot recommend it highly enough, we are going back in march, we cannot wait.

" Tired of the wet and dull weather... "

Tired of the wet and dull weather that the UK now seems to serve up at Christmas time, we decided to brave our first ever Christmas away - at the Riu Oliva Beach.

The first thing that I have to say is what a fabulous location - you just walk through the beach gates at the back of the hotel and there you are on the beautiful beach and sand dunes of Corralejo. Whether you walk up the beach or down the beach there are bays, dunes and bars a plenty - just what the doctor ordered!

The Riu Oliva Beach is very acceptable as an all inclusive venue - best described as a 3* residence with 4* staff. We were in the annexe and found the rooms there to be clean and spacious, if not slightly tired.

The Oliva boasts 4 restaurants - 2 of which have to be booked in advance - the other 2 offering traditional 'turn and up & self serve' buffet fare. Plenty of good fresh food to chose from, well presented and well cooked - some cooked before you as you wait. Wine and beer available with your meal (again self serve) as well as being generally available day and night (till 12.00) at various locations around the hotel and pool. Indeed we concluded that if you set your mind to it you could eat and drink for all of the day and well into the night - not bad! Hey they even have their own nightclub - (serves till 2.00) - which has to be seen just for the sheer EuroComedy value - if you catch my drift! All inclusive also includes cocktails - they do an eye watering 'bloody-mary'!

There is no shortage of sunbathing space and loungers at the Oliva Beach, be it around the pool, on a variety of terraces or even the lovely sandy terrace to the south of the hotel that faces out across the hills and dunes to the south of Corralejo - beautiful. Otherwise, why not pop down onto the beach where sunbeds can be hired at 3 euros per day. A word to the wise though - Corralejos beach isn't for the narrow-minded - and boy do some of those naturist need ironing!

There is a full entertainment program that is well advertised and well run, ranging from the usual aerobics, volleyball, football et al through to the more unusual shooting, boule and even good old darts. Very unobtrusive - the team wander through announcing the next event. In the evenings there is always a show in the main hotel building. Very targeted towards the German guests but still good fun - the animation team really do put a lot of work and practice into these.

There are a couple of local shops within 400 yards of the Riu Oliva Beach if you do not want to travel the 7kms into Corralejo town and there is even a little store up behind the main hotel pool. Great news for us as it meant that our two boys could grab some 'cheap' bodyboards for a bit of high jinx surfing on Christmas Day.

Finally in terms of international mix, more than 50% of the guests are from Germany, followed by the British - and then a sprinkling of French, Scandinavians and some eastern Europeans - a wonderful mix.

One thing is for sure - we WILL be going back.

" The location of the hotel is... "

The location of the hotel is fantastic, right on the beach, miles and miles of golden sand in the middle of a national park.

Accom:

Without doubt the room is the cleanest we have ever had. The maids took real pride in their work and the room sparkled after the daily clean. They had little paint brushes to dust all the nooks and crannies. All rooms seem to have a sea view.

Staff:
Excellent, really friendly, from the dining room staff, to reception, to the animation team, they cannot be faulted.

Food and Drink
Good choice of food and always served fresh and hot. You never needed to queue for that long at the bars at night and if you wanted a beer you just pour it yourself.

Poolside:
A little crowded, but we used to sit in the sunbeds offset from the pool in a beach area on-site. Free towels exchanged daily for use on-site.

Animation team:
Daytime entertainment good. Boules, shuffle board, darts, water polo, rifle shooting, volleyball etc. etc. etc. Non stop activities if you wanted from sunrise to sunset. Evening entertainment is what you expect - two professional floorshows in the week and then the animation team doing the best they can.

Correlejo Town:
15 minutes on the bus from the bottom of the road by the hotel. Purpose built resort with a long strip of bars, clubs restaurants and shops. If that's your thing then fair enough, but to be honest in our opinion it is fairly characterless and uninspiring.

General opinion of hotel:
Excellent, clean tidy and good food. Professionally managed. Very cosmopolitan with a mix of German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and English clients. The beach and sea is without doubt one of the best we have ever visited. The sand dunes are massive and quite inspiring. Some of the beach area (about 10 mins walk away from the hotel) is naturist, but this seems fairly common in Fuerteventura. The sea can get quite rough - massive breakers.

" My family stayed here for two weeks 2... "

My family stayed here for two weeks 2 adults/ 2 children we stayed in the annexe part of the hotel which was very nice. The rooms are two storey high with ceiling fan and air con in bedroom, fridge in room which is nice to put water in to keep cool.

On arrival we arrived at midnight and the reception staff saved us some food and sorted our cases out to be taken to our room. We were given 2 x 1.5 Lt of water and we were told to come to reception if required any more. We got to our room and open the patio doors and we over looked the pool area which was very nice.
Sun beds there are plenty.

Food was excellent 10/10 and service was the same. Food starts at 08:30 for breakfast till 10:30 then stack bar is open 10:30 till 18:00 and then dinner starts at 18:00 till 10:30 plenty of choice for everyone there is two themed restaurants canery and Manderin which you need to book at reception in advance but it is free as it is part of the all inclusive.

Drinks beer /soft drinks and wine you just help yourself, spirits and cocktails you just ask the barman which there is plenty of staff to serve you, you can get a drink of anything from 08:30 till 12:00 after this you need to go to the disco which is under the hotel were you get your all inclusive till 2 am.

Entertainment during the day was fine lots of game to play water polo, volleyball, darts, shooting, bingo and for the kids a hotel kids club which kept all the kids entertained. Evening entertainment was poor it only catered for the Germans and French as the English are a minority. The hotel staff treat everyone the same day in day out but the entertainment team seem to think that all the guest only speak German or French, we had no problem with the German or the French we all got on playing water polo or volley ball with each other.

The pool area was great you can use any pool which there is 2 good size pools and 2 kids pools.
The beach area is great white sands and blue seas but the sun beds on the beach are not the hotels so you need to pay for these, we just used the pool towels that the hotel supplied free around the pool to sit / lay on .The beaches around the resort are used by the nudist as well but they use part of the beach away from the hotel about 1/2 a mile to the right of the hotel which if you have an open mind is no problem there is lots of the beach for everyone swimming gear or no swimming gear.

Location about 45 min walk from Carralejo or 5 euros in a taxi which there are plenty of at the hotel. Carralejo was very small and not a lot to do once you were there, you could have a look at the shops which would pass an hour restaurants are very pushy there.

The cheapest cigs and spirits we found were on the corner were 7 pints pub is, all the taxi drivers know all hotels and shops and bars by name as the resort is quite small. We went on a trip to Lanzortte which you catch at the old harbour which was good we had 6 hours there which made a change.

We also went to the safari park which is about 1:30hr travelling on a coach which was worth the money it was an all day trip with lunch included. There is a market near the water park on a Monday or Friday but once a month it comes to the hotel on the last Friday of each month and the hotel do a bit of a summer fair with games and a few stalls give beer and popcorn away.

This is a luxury hotel for an all inclusive, free towels, free safe box in room, cases took to rooms.

I would go back to this hotel or one of its group any were around the world as the service is second to none hopefully they will sort the entertainment out. I give the hotel 9/10

" Just returned from a fantastic week... "

Just returned from a fantastic week at the Olivia Beach.

We stayed in the hotel part with a sea view, not many children so it was quite peaceful.

The food was excellent could not fault a thing, the beer was not great but the cocktails were!

Reception staff were very welcoming and attentive nothing was too much trouble for them. The view from the room was amazing beautiful white sand beach, the ocean was a lovely blue.

Yes the main quests were German but they were very friendly and each morning they said good morning to us, though I did see some putting towels out at 5.40 am - it was still dark!

Never mind we always got 2 sun beds, but you need to be by the pool before 9.30am.

Overall a great all inclusive holiday this hotel is 3* some say 4* I would give it 4*+ it really was that good, pity it has to close down in the near future due to the area being a conservation area (they won’t renew the lease) hope to go back before it closes, loved it.

" I went on holiday with my mum, dad... "

I went on holiday with my mum, dad and 10 year old brother we had an absolutely fabulous holiday.

The hotel was faultless. It was lovely and clean, maid service everyday. 2 pools and 1 child pool. A hot tub/jacuzzi. The hotel was right on the white sand beach with all the dunes.

The Chinese was fantastic you could have one from Wednesday- Sunday. The was also a Spanish restaurant in which you had to book. We didn’t try that as we are not a lover of that kind of food.

There was a kids club for little children but my brother went the one day for football games. I went to various games with the adults there were games everyday and shooting every afternoon. My mum and Dad enjoyed just lounging around eating and drinking.

There were lots of alcoholic drinks, fizzy pops, fruit juices and slush puppies in every bar. The handy man came to your room if anything needed fixing. The staff were all very kind and had jokes with you and the animation staff were so friendly. The shows were loads better than all the other hotels we have been to.

We were in the annex rooms. The rooms were very basic. With a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with a toilet, shower and bath. A dining room attached to the living room with 2 sofas/beds.

There was a TV and built in surround sound. There was a hairdryer but I suggest you take your own as it wasn't very good. There was also a dressing table and mirror. You also have a little balcony/ terrace.

If you are in the annex rooms for families there is a separate restaurant (which we thought was much better food), Bar, Swimming pool and shop, but you use the hotels facilities as well.

Computers are 1euro for 10mins. There were lots of snooker tables. There were not a lot of children but we expected that as we went January time.

In the summer we expect the hotel will be very full. We will DEFINITELY be going back next year as it was a great holiday.

" Fantastic! Highly recommended.... "

Fantastic! Highly recommended. Excellent location right on the beach (it can get a bit windy though and it was overcast until about mid day most days). We stayed in the apartments and the rooms are really good - big TV with at least 2 English channels, fridge, twin beds but wider than average, balcony etc. The only thing was our neighbours were a bit noisy so make sure you take ear plugs!

They are cleaned everyday with new towels (if you don't want to be cleaned, make sure you put the sign out the night before or they'll be round at 8am knocking on your door!) Bottled water provided. Masses of sun loungers with cushions and clean big beach towels available everyday. The pools were acclimatized so they were a bit cold for me. Entertainment was great, a bit cheesy at times but still funny. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

The food was fantastic, a brilliant selection, and cooked in front of you so you know it’s fresh. The biggest downside was the amount of Germans, about 90%.

This is a fantastic hotel in a brilliant location. The food is brilliant and there is always something different to eat - there are four restaurant altogether!

The rooms are nice and the room service is great - they really tidy your room! The beach is amazing with the most crystal clear water.

The only drawback I found was the clientele of the hotel - mostly German and Spanish so not many people to talk to! The entertainment programme was also very good.

Good luck!
